It's high level Panda Express. It's got some interesting items on the menu but on the very sweet side.

通用好评： The staff Yan Li were friendly and attentive, the restaurant had a nice and pleasant atmosphere, and the dishes were tasty and well prepared. read more

Long wait time and high prices not worth it for food that lacks depth of flavor: The free sauerkraut appetizer, crispy beef slices in sweet soybean sauce, braised chicken in huadiao rice wine, steamed sliced whole fish with scallions, steamed tiger prawn with vermicelli (bland), and shredded eel in hot oil were all one-dimensional in taste. The choice of fish for the steamed slice whole fish was very unusual for the cooking style that was used since it is thick and slightly rubbery but I was expecting a soft texture. The steamed tofu with crab meat and the chicken broth of the cabbage in chicken broth (the chicken broth flavor was not fully infused in the cabbage) were the only stand-outs. As a first step, however, I'd suggest the restaurant fix its operational inefficiencies so that customers are not forced to stare at a half empty restaurant for an hour as the front desk refuses to give away reserved tables even more than 30 minutes post reservation time. read more

Loved this restaurant! The food was amazing--full of flavor, and the atmosphere was cozy. Fast service too. Highly recommend!

We went to Jiang Nan for a casual dinner Saturday night without waiting. However we won't go back there any more after spending $230 for 3 persons for an overall below average meal. The servers were not well trained, could be because it is still new with a soft opening. Food is below par, including the short ribs, smoked but flavor was weak, dish was not hot, not meaty with 4 BONY pieces. The most disappointing is the Peking Duck at $55 for half which was prepared in advance, soft not crispy skin and don't know why they gave you a few pieces of pineapple CHUNKS? The fried chicken popcorn in a crispy dough was a total disaster with no chicken inside, a pure rip off! Other dishes are average, too disappointing to discuss further ! NOT GOOD read more

Food is solid, better than Boston's iteration, and as good as NYC's. Some minor issues, like not fully de-veining all the shrimp or cleanly descaling the fish in some of the peripheral areas, but it didn't really detract from the taste. Still early on, so a few little issues with pacing of dishes and table layout -- table was too small for the pace of the dishes coming out. Our server was amazing! May is excellent, highly recommend! read more

Definitely would come again. We had the pork soup dumplings, the 4 lucky dumplings, spicy chicken wontons, cabbage with pork belly, sautéed green beans and duck rolls. The food was very fresh and tasty. We saw other tables ordering the pecking duck and sizzling plates which looked so good. Definitely gotta go back and try some different dishes. The staff was very attentive with their service. The restaurant was very aesthetic, comfortable seating and nicely lit. I forgot to take pics of the food since as soon it arrived to the table we would start chowing down. I recommend the cabbage pork belly and spicy chicken wontons. read more

We were there yesterday for their soft opening. Since it was a rainy evening, less crowd. Ambiance was good. Food quality was great. 4 people, 2 snacks, 4 dishes: $130. Though I do say my kids eat lots of rice with the yummy sauce from the dong po. read more

Pre - prep food~~~~ with nice decoration ~~~~ Food taste so-so , small portion with very high price.

Came for a birthday dinner during their soft opening. The tablet menu with pictures for every dish made ordering easy. Flavorful unique dishes that weren't overly sweet or salty. The boiled black fish and pickled mustard green stew was just the right amount of spice and flavor, the dongpo braised pork was flavorful and saucy with crunchy bamboo slices. Our server May was friendly and attentive providing great service. read more

We got here at 5:40 PM, and after 50 minutes of waiting, our Braised Pork Ball was still nowhere to be seen. It's frustrating because my kid was really looking forward to it. We ended up having to pack it to go because we couldn't wait any longer. It's ridiculous to have to pay a tip for a 'dine-in' experience that resulted in a takeout bag because of poor service speed read more

Had a wonderful lunch at Jiang Nan. Our server, May, was fantastic and attentive. She pointed out popular dishes on their extensive menu and even gave my party to go cups with their flower tea. A good place to try. read more

read more

We reserved a private room for company party, from the time we reserved, the manager told us there is a minimum of $500 & i said yes it's ok. The day came, they sold out so many things in the menu. If you already have a reservation, would you not prepare as a restaurant??? They almost not give me the peking duck which i already reserved it the day i booked. Food tastes are good except peking duck, it's dry, just not supposed to be michelin level. Found hair in the soup that manager comped it at the end. The lazy susan was broken so we cannot really turn it and made it hard for us to get the food (it's a round table). I paid around $750-780 for the night but no apology from manager & they did not try to give solutions from the beginning about the lazy susan turntable thingy before we had all food laid out. Very very disappointed & i felt so bad to my clients who had to go through this experience. read more

The server was really nice and informative. All the dishes we got tasted good. We only got to order 4 dishes but they all taste good.

The price of the Peking duck is insanely high and it's nothing special about. The other dishes are decent. So I would go for other dishes but the Peking duck. read more

Steam shrimp was over cooked and became too hard. The manager did not want to make a new one. Lamb dish tasted so so. Deco are all plastic. Service was good. Not worth of 45 minutes of waiting. read more

Not worth the money to be honest. Ordered their home specialty Peckin Duck plate. The meat was plain and cold. Service is alright too. You order your own food using a screen, so very much no interaction. 2 stars go for ambience. It's a pretty place. Won't come back read more

Good new restaurant food and service were good. Different from normal Chinese restaurants

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Great service and fast service. I'll definitely return from south Pasadena

Watch out! They said they close at 3pm. We arrived at 2:26pm and they said we passed their last call.

They have great food, such as the duck, and squirrel fish. Their service is excellent considering they are just recently opened. Will come back for sure read more

At the initial opening, we visited with no problem to get a table. However we found that several popular dishes were not available, bummer. They have smaller portions of food? The price is beyond the average. The decor is nice and elegant. read more

I ate dinner here with my friend recently and I liked it. Food was alright, restaurant was nice, service was amazing. I ordered the crab with tofu and pecking duck. When walking in, the atmosphere already felt so clean and welcoming. While waiting, the owner came up to chat a little bit about the Christmas tree, a small but kind gesture. went to the new jiang nan in irvine this week and had a really good experience. the place is clean, the food came out on time, and everything tasted fresh. our server emily was especially helpful. she talked to my grandma in chinese so she felt comfortable ordering, and then switched to english for the rest of us without any issue. it made the whole meal a lot smoother. overall a solid spot. good food, good service, and we'll probably come back again. read more

Our server, Aimee, is extremely kind and attentive to us! We had An amazing time! She was always making sure that our teapot was full. She also offered a lot of kind services we were not expecting to get from any Chinese restaurants! Made us feel very appreciated and we were so lucky to be customers! The food is decent there, but the price is way too high, basically you are paying a $100 for $60 meal, they won't survive there, but they might in Newport Beach. read more

May was the best server! She thought of everything and was so efficient. Definitely would come back.

We've tried many Chinese restaurants in Irvine, and this was our first time dining at JiangNan. One thing that really stood out was how they trained their server to do the job. Yanny's service is impeccable and attentive, taking care of my wife and our four children. The Peking duck was sliced beautifully, and the food portions felt much more abundant than what the menu suggested. The restaurant also has a modest, traditional atmosphere that makes the dining experience very comfortable. Definitely will come back. read more

The restaurant was nice and bright. Service was good. Can't say the same for the food. The green beans were not as soon as Ding Tai Fung. We ordered half a Peking duck, there was so little meat it was hardly worth the money. Very disappointed. I don't think it was even one quarter of a duck. The other dish was just ok. Restaurant was quite empty, that should speak volumn. Micheline recommended? ??? read more

I came in and got the lamb skewers and pecking duck today and both were good. The pecking duck pancakes were a little dry but other than that everything was good. My server Ethan was very nice and we had a nice conversation. Always checked on us and was very attentive. Ask for Ethan as your server! read more

Waitress May is super wonderful and helpful. Every dish she recommended was just delicious and Wow! I love roast duck, pickles, lamb skewers and pea shoots. The chrysanthemum and goji tea was incredible as well! I am now expecting our desserts. Definitely recommend this restaurant! Will visit it again and again! read more

I think that the service and atmosphere is very good. The squirrel fish and duck were very tasty, but anything spicy such as the mapo tofu felt a little too mild. Overall, it's worth a visit and I see myself coming again. read more

+1 star for the food but honestly the service soured our experience. As a server myself I almost never have issues with service, I know the stress when it gets busy but we just felt unwelcome and rushed by the waitress who served us. read more
