Had fabulous Firefly Martinis from the bar with my sister and friend! The service was fabulous. The vibe was divey, and I was here for all of it! Great drinks and wonderful experience. Happened to come on Goth Night. As an Oaklander, happy to see a queer-adjacent bar in Flagstaff!

Best "dive bar" in FLG. Lot's of shows and events for locals. I'm a bit too old for that scene. What I'm not too old for is the great selection of whiskey Yucca North has available for pours. It's unfortunate that aspect is lost on most of their clientele. FLG is a hipster college town.... They do have a great selection of beers on tap, and the bartenders are happy to pour you a shot of fireball, without judgment, unlike me. Casey, the owner, is great, and has been very helpful with the local bourbon group, Flagstaff Bourbon Society, who now host tasting events there occasionally. Casey chooses some awesome flight for us, and has been very generous. See photo. Highly recommended stop for people looking for good whiskey pours, beer or vintage pinball fanatics.

Came out to drop my son off to college and came across this bar. The staff is excellent. Very nice and attentive. Smiles from all the staff and made me feel at home. Definitely a spot to chill when in flagstaff.

Fun little local bar with good beer on tap! Gets busy on the weekends and in the evening, but it's a great crowd!

Stopped in briefly to have a seltzer and play some pinball. Good concert memories here, I am hopeful the management will bring in good music and manage the place well! I like the pinball and arcade games, it's just what Flagstaff needs more of. Good social distancing setups, I recommend non-hand use openings for the bathrooms, foot handles would be better. Update: Had a Reuben today, excellent! Cheers!

Ask the Community - Yucca North

Is there seating available where you can still see the show on stage? Or is this a standing/dancing only kind of place?

Limited seating, mostly standing room. Thanks for asking.

Fair meaning he didn't want to start time on our lane if we wanted to get food to eat while playing. It's a plus even having a snack bar. Then also offering to wait to start time was a nice little bonus. He also wanted to make sure all three people in our party could stick one throw before starting time. Other than axes, this place also lets you throw knives & ninja stars with instruction on how to throw those, too. Near the snack bar there was also an air hockey table, video games & crane games. This facility also has darts and laser tag available, but I did neither of the additional activities. If you're not wearing closed toe shoes, they have loaner crocs up for grabs...although I'm not sure who would wear open toe shoes to this place or why they would.

It wasn't very busy, so we had plenty of time to enjoy both the arcade and laser tag without feeling rushed. The menu had a nice variety of options and was reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything about the visit felt easy, fun, and well-run. We would definitely come back and highly recommend FlagTag to anyone visiting Flagstaff--especially if you're looking for a fun, low-stress activity to enjoy with family or friends.

I loved this shop when Brennan was manager, but since Stephen took over, things have gone downhill fast. This place employs people who hold and express white supremacist views. One employee once told me outright that if he got a wife, he "didn't want property" -- making it crystal clear he sees people with melanin as less than human. The staff is entirely white, and that attitude shows. I was eventually banned after showing an accurate historical depiction of Yehoshua (Jesus) as a Black man. Stephen, the new manager, took issue with that and has been looking for a reason to get rid of me ever since. The official reason given was "Poor treatment of Geekery Patrons as viewed by staff" -- every single friend I've asked disagrees completely. If you're not white and/or not a regular customer, they'll undercut you whether you're selling your cards for cash or trading them in for store credit -- typically by about 10% -- and pocket the difference. This is primarily a Magic: The Gathering shop, and they genuinely do not care about Pokémon, One Piece, Gundam, or Flesh & Blood. If you play anything other than Magic, you're an afterthought here. It's always been like that and I don't think they will change... The store is also not child friendly. I repeatedly had to remind people to stop cursing around kids. Staff never stepped in to handle it. On top of everything else, their pricing has gotten worse. They used to sell at MSRP, but now they charge market price on items -- which is usually double what you should be paying. Cab Comics up the street has much better prices and is a far more welcoming environment overall. Cab Comics treats everyone the same, they don't give special treatment to those only read/buy comics or just white people... I wouldn't recommend selling cards here, and I wouldn't recommend spending your time or money in a place that treats non-white people this way.

As a fan of dice, I spent most of my time here at The Geekery staring at the dice. My husband was mesmerized by the MTG and other trading cards they had. The employees were able to answer his questions, which he tends to have a lot when it comes to his collectibles. The store was well organized and the prices were pretty standard from what I see at game stores. We are both glad we stopped by The Geekery.
