We had a great time, definitely kept our heart rates up and provided a good upper body workout! My only complaint is that I missed the glove option online and they should absolutely be included. My hands are destroyed!

I felt very safe zipping through the forest there. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Thank you all!

We visited at the end of September, and it turned out to be much warmer than I expected. I had trouble reaching anyone by phone, but they were responsive to texts during business hours. We only made it through half of the Zipline course in two hours, so we switched to the High Ropes Course to make the most of our time before they closed at 6 PM. We completed three levels of the ropes course in about 1.5 hours. The first half of the Zipline course gradually increases in height, helping you get used to the altitude with shorter ziplines. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to reach the longer ziplines in the second half. While we got rain checks for the remaining levels of the High Ropes Course, they didn't offer any for the unfinished portion of the Zipline course. They sell refrigerated bottled drinks on-site, and I highly recommend bringing thin, grippy fingerless gloves like the ones I got on Amazon. Also, consider buying their bottled water with a carabiner to clip onto your harness--it's super convenient!

This place is extraordinary, super awesome, spectacular, amazing, stupendous... Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course has it all figured out from soup to nuts. For my husbands birthday I surprised him with a getaway and little adventure, and this hit the spot. We did the zipline course and it was nothing short of magic in the trees! We zipped for 3 hours and loved every second of the wind in our hair and the smell of the pines. The rush of endorphins was a blast and the fact that it's a self guided course makes you feel like somewhat of a badass! The ziplines get bigger and higher and there are various ladders and bridges to conquer along the way. The challenge course is supposed to be pretty great as well and I imagine we will tackle that on our next visit. Not only is this ridiculous fun and invigorating, but it's as safe as it possibly can be. When you arrive they put your harness on and everyone goes through the 15 minute training course complete with a how to rules video (normally I'm not a fan of rules but in this case I made an exception). After the video they teach you how to hook in and safely maneuver from zipline to zipline. There was never a moment in which I felt unsafe. They have staff positioned below to make sure everyone is properly zipping and there for any questions or concerns. They make sure all are having fun and even though they manage to monitor everything it doesn't take away from the self guided experience. You never really know they are there unless you need help or you transition to the next course. The prices are perfect for the quality of the courses, length of the adventure,, and professionalism of it all. The whole operation is impressive. I highly recommend taking a break from life and escaping to the land among the trees to have some fun and zip away!

Our family of 5 LOVED doing this while camping at Ft. Tuthill. my 12 year old and I did the adult course together and made it into the black level (almost finished!). We want to do this again next year when we drive through flagstaff again. My 9 and 7 year old really enjoyed the kid's course as well.

Had a great time. There were plenty of employees around to help whenever we had questions, all super friendly. The course made sense and I felt safe. Would definitely return

My girlfriend and I did the zip line course and it was so much fun. The staff was very friendly and professional. The equipment and course was well maintained and made us feel safe. The course was a lot of fun and definitely challenged my "I'm not afraid of heights" thinking several times. The course took us 2 1/2 hours to finish. An absolutely blast!!

Had a lot of fun at this course. It is pretty rough but very fun. There is a set of courses that gets increasingly more difficult. I almost was not able to make it past the last set of the course but finally got through. There are people that keep an eye on you on the ground to make sure you are safe and in the event you get scared or get too tired and can't go on, they are there to help you down to safety.

We used this as a team building event during our staff meeting. Our ages ranged from 35-70 years old. This is a hard course but it's set up so that you can bail at any time. Most of us finished the 4th course, and four of our guys finished the 5th and most difficult course. It was definitely a fun day for team building.

Ask the Community - Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course

Can we purchase tickets at location or does it have to be online only?

Can my 5 year old and I do this?

5 is a bit too young/small. Our kids course is designed for kids 7-11 that can REACH to 4'7" with their palms. We look forward to having you climb in the trees at some point though!

We plan to visit Flagstaff Extreme next weekend. We have a 4 year old with us. Is there any activity that she may plan? How many adult needed to be with the 2 kids to join the kids adventure course. ? Does accompanied person needs to pay?

Thanks for the question. 4 year olds generally love watching and playing with the sticks and trees. The Kids Course is for 7-11 year olds and at least one parent or adult would watch from the ground and does not pay. Anyone can watch, walk around… Read more

Huge thank you's to Tynkertopia's creator, because what she has made, will leave such a legacy in so many kids, and families lives!!! It was our first time in, and will not be our last. My little boy had so much fun crafting with free run of endless loose materials. Something about the place and it's wonderful staff just calms the nervous system, and lets you know you are in a safe space where everyone is encouraged and accepted. The way the staff reacts when your child asks a question, or asks for materials that are not out amongst the thousands that are visibly available is with willingness and kindness. They even went out to the shed to bring in stuffing for the craft my kiddo decided to make as a Christmas present for me. He felt so valued and respected...like his voice mattered inside of Tynkertopia, even though he's a kid. Another thing they do when you walk in the door that was so unique and adds to the feeling that you are welcome there is to give you a tour of where everything is and what's available to do. They introduce you to their fascinating Honey Ant colony, and you can even spot the Queen! Honey Ants are beautiful creatures. Tynkertopia offers nutritious snacks for hungry little tummies. The way they bring you in to this wondrous space makes you feel so at home. This is a non-profit and apparently they just won a couple of awards for (I think it was ) best things to do with kids, and best non-profit and they absolutely deserve both of those. Thank you, thank you for being so kind to us and selling my son the 3D printed spiral fidget for a kids price; because he...is...obsessed with it!!! We had the most fun ever, and are still in disbelief that a magical, yet so humble a space like this, exists. My kiddo says he wishes he could be there every day. To be honest...I could be there every day myself.

Tons of outdoor vendor booths and an indoor section near the photography exhibit. Nice variety of food and drinks. Had some pulled pork this year that was excellent and my wife had a mac and cheese mixed with some pulled pork. The main building has nice indoor bathrooms or there are plenty of port-a-potties for fairgoers to use. The entertainment lineup for this fair is stellar from year to year. This year we saw magician Louie Foxx, juggler James Reid, and the Funny Waiter show by juggler John Park all doing stage shows as well as magician Shawn Eric doing strolling magic shows, and Steve's Fun Balloons making all sorts of cool balloon creations for people. There are always terrific bands to see in concert - like The Rock Bottom Boys, The Doo-Wah Riders, Mogollon, and many local bands. The military exhibit takes up two buildings and tells the history of Fort Tuthill which is where the fairgrounds are based. Definitely worth checking out the history of the area. Another favorite at this fair is the train exhibit - enthusiastic model train builders and hobbyists will show off their latest creations and modifications since the previous fair. Great to see their passion for what they do - and they do some amazing things with tracks and trains. Definitely worth a drive up to Flagstaff. Just a reminder - it always takes place over the Labor Day weekend so finding a hotel room may take some planning (and budgeting) ahead of time.

I really don't like hunting down some obscure stage behind the barn. Drives me nuts! I got to eat delicious food at a reasonable price considering, I didn't eat deep fried foods, I stuck to tamales and a salad. And the coffee was just $2.00 a cup, which was great because it rained and the warmth was a perfect combination. I loved that they had recycling all over the fair. The restrooms were really well stocked. Lots of vendors, games to play and a llama obstacle course/show. That was terrific. I loved the juggler Bob, and magician Shawn Eric and the mind reader Rich read My Mind. That was so cool. I had a blast and came back 3 days. I'm glad it was open on the holiday.
