The exhibits are fascinating, covering everything from the geology of Northern Arizona to the region's wildlife and the rich history and cultures of the Native peoples. The museum sits on beautiful natural grounds that are worth walking through as well. We brought our 18-month-old, 3-year-old, and 5-year-old, and all of them had a great time while actually learning a lot. There are so many interactive elements, including an animal scavenger hunt, pull-out drawers throughout the exhibits, videos, and hands-on displays you can touch. There's also a discovery area with books and toys that our kids absolutely loved. We spent about two hours here, and it was time well spent. If you're visiting Flagstaff, or even if you've been coming here for years like I have, don't make the mistake of overlooking this gem. I'd absolutely recommend it for families and anyone interested in the natural and cultural history of Northern Arizona.

We even tried to buy ice earlier in the night since the water they sell is barely cold and they said no. Egotistical ah security guards. L staff:(

The Dome is something to truly appreciate experiencing when you visit Northern Arizona University…read more It is the place for so many activities and events. This indoor facility is home to many of the University's sports such as Football, Basketball, Indoor Track & Field and yes at one time Hockey. The Dome is the place for concerts, graduations and a host of other events. I am a former athlete and coach at NAU and have many memories of the Dome. I was proud to train and compete inside the dome as well coach and even have an office inside the dome. I highly recommend visiting the facility if you are in the Flagstaff area. It is indeed a special place.

Outside parking, staging, and even being able to see the band was great. Upon entering, a quick personal scan of people and clear bag guidelines were listed...however, we did see people without clear bags and most importantly, finding our seats was easy. Inside the dome, the temperature was as expected. This NAU football game was played in early September, so it was a bit warm inside, but not too hot. Our seats offered a perfect view of the game. The only downfall was the audio system that they were using, based on our seat location, sounded HORRIBLE!!! When I think back, we didn't understand any part of what the announcers were saying. If you weren't watching the game and missed something, you really weren't gonna hear it on the audio and rarely did you see much of it on the video replay. Getting snacks and alcohol inside was no issue, and the lines weren't too bad. Staff & students were very helpful. Definitely looking forward to returning back for another game. This time I'm sitting on the students' side, hoping to hear more of the audio.

The acoustics are excellent. The stage is large. There are no pillars blocking anyone's view. This is a great place to hear a concert. There is an area near the entrance to the recital hall that accommodates people who need handicapped seating. All the seats in the recital hall are comfortable cushioned seats. The incline of the recital hall is fairly steep. This means that you are likely to have an unobstructed view even if a tall person sits in front of you. This also means that you need to be careful when moving to your seat, especially because the rows are spaced fairly close together. It is not easy to get past people who remain seated when you are trying to reach your seat. We usually sit either on the left aisle or right aisle; there is no center aisle. All the concerts we attended had unassigned seats. The lobby could use more seating. None of the lobby seating has backrests, although it is often possible to lean against the lobby wall. The parking is confusing. There is a paid parking garage across the street from the recital hall. We parked there once. The other times we parked in the surface parking lot for the music school. This lot is west of the recital hall. We attended concerts during the summer when the university was not in session. We went to at least one nighttime concert, when we figured classes were not in session. The signs said the surface parking lot was restricted to people with permits, but we never got a ticket. It is not easy for nonstudents like us senior Flagstaff summer visitors to find out about the concerts at Kitt Recital Hall. I don't recall whether I ever saw them advertised on www.flagstaff365.com. I found out about most of them by word of mouth. Tickets are purchased from a Northern Arizona University website. Next summer we will try to locate a NAU music school website, or an NAU events website. The concerts would be better attended if they received more publicity. The excellent June piano concerts were sparsely attended. We attended a September concert that was packed with recently returned students. We always bought our tickets online. There apparently is a box office, but I don't know its hours.

It was HOT, dirt filled and not the same vibe as in years past. We still enjoyed the march of the Clans, the band's that played and the occasional performance. The beer is some of our favorite, but even this year it kind of missed the mark. Lines were slow and crammed in the back of performance areas and the beer wasn't as cold as it should have been. Plus, it seems every year it gets more and more pricey. $20 per adult for entry, $5 per kid 2 and older! Plus food isn't anything spectacular and adult beverages are $7! There was a little vendor tent from the local Mason Lodge that had water and little ice creams for $1 and we stopped there three times! I really hope they find a way to move it back or at least find another grassy venue.
