On a recent Sunday, my daughter and I made our way to Starlite along with another mom/daughter after another activity we were looking at doing together didn't work out. We ended up having a blast! We had to wait a bit for a lane to open up, so we spent a bit of time and cash at the arcade and walked away with some candy and bouncy balls. Once our lane opened, we got our shoes and programmed the computer so that the kids got bumpers and adults did not. Kids ruled! We all had a blast nonetheless and found the pricing to be extremely reasonable. We didn't hit up the snack bar or lounge, but they were doing plenty of business and I could see doing so on a future visit for sure. We'll be back! See you next time, Starlight Lanes! read more

The place is questionable to say the least. On the outskirts of town it's one entertainment place that has seen better days. The bowling alley has an old school feel to it. Apparently frequented by the local college football team... the two individuals behind the counter have the personalities that scream..."at least I am out of my parents basement! We don't go bowling often but it was a snowy day and we needed out of the house and I have to say, we were super pleased with the whole experience! I believe owners have changed and the new ones have done a great job! The place is very tidy and the staff is friendly. We waited a bit for the rest of our group to get there and we never felt rushed. We ordered chips and salsa and a pizza for the kids. We definitely didn't have the highest expectations for bowling alley food but we were really surprised at how tasty everything was! The chips and salsa were great, restaurant quality really. The pizza was pretty tasty too, the kids loved it. Truly, a guest served place in town ! We had my daughters 5th birthday here today and it was so nice to be accommodated by these lovely people. My little one was a bit frightened by the Halloween decor (not too bad but still) and they took it upon themselves to introduce themselves and put away whatever was frightening her so she could enjoy her party. I can tell that they truly care and you really would not receive this anywhere else. Not to mention, so quaint and old school, love it. 10/10. Love this place. Some alleys I have been to look like the balls have been thrown down the stairs a few times with chunks out. Prices seemed pretty good, they has a concession area and then also a bar. Went on Tuesday rented a pair of shoes (I wore my own socks) and I got athletes foot on my toes :((( I know that's not 100% their fault but come on they are supposed to be sanitizing these shoes. We also rented out a reservation for cosmic bowling for 2 hours and they refused to turn off the lights/ turn on the disco lights for an entire hour because of the bowling league that ran an hour late! The only upside to this is they were able to give us a discount which we did appreciate. read more

I knew that I wanted to come here on our most recent trip to Flagstaff as we have passed by several times and it's always busy and looks fun. I subscribed to their email list and got an an offer for an hour of free bowling - even more reason to go! We visited on a weekday afternoon and the place was moderately full but no wait on a lane for just us two. We were able to play three full games with only the cost of shoe rental. Not bad! As for the facilities, they are charmingly retro like most older bowling alleys, and well-maintained. Full bar and food too if you're hungry. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, especially the kids and families hosting birthday parties. We had an awesome night bowling! The bar is fully stocked, the food was great (especially the Parmesan wings), There is a kids friendly arcade zone and the staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were clean. The bowling ally is fairly big it has 16 lanes, many community bowling balls to go around and extra table space for big parties. The worst experience I ever have had bowling. I came a couple months ago to help with Special Olympics bowling with Coconino High as a volunteer but didn't bowl. So I have been to this establishment before and thought the food was good. I came out tonight with my brother and mom to celebrate my recent graduation from NAU. It was fairly busy and I waited roughly 20 min. Which wasn't bad considering they had said it was a 45 min wait. The lane: My brother is an avid bowler and loves bowling. We only played one game because the shoes were sticking to the ground and we could slide like you're supposed to. Which was unfortunate since we even asked the guy to reslick it and it did nothing. My biggest issue was there was a group of 12 college students a couple lanes over. The bartender had obviously been over serving this group. One guy was so intoxicated he almost fell down the lane. After trying to bowl he turned around and puked on the carpet behind the seats. I tried to go to the bar and get him some water just trying to be a nice person... The bartender was so rude when I asked "Hey can I get some water? There is a drunk dude and I think he needs some". His response was "I already gave some to your friend". I kindly told him that the guy wasn't a friend and that I was just a few lanes over concerned. He told me "Look I already told you I did my part". Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I was super excited to come to Starlite Lanes. However after arriving I found that this wasn't as welcoming of a bowling alley as I was led to believe. I came in during a league and was told that I had to wait (which was absolutely fine). But the tall guy working the counter wearing glasses was out of this world rude. He didn't wear a mask the entire time he spoke to me, he was short, and he acted like he really didn't want me to be here. My family and I were super upset about the way we were treated. If I didn't know better I would think he was drinking on the job, I could smell it on his breath. All in all after we were allowed to bowl our experience was great. The bartender was steller and the food was fantastic. But the guy at the counter really rubbed me the wrong way. Hire better employees and I would definitely consider coming back! Until then. good specials and prices for their bowling games, but the location itself is a little rundown. When you arrive at the location, outside doesn't seem too welcoming. The inside feels like your in a basement; the lighting lowers down the excitement of a family friendly bowling alley. I had a coupon $10 off of $20, but the lady stated that I had to print it and not show it on the phone. Every other bowling alley with this situation would find a way to help the customer instead of quickly denying it. I wish she could have gave me options, instead of going in feeling bad if I don't bowl this this alley. So future reference for other customers, make sure to print the coupon so that they can file it for proofs. One thing that stood out to me is all the front desk worker were on their phones. Although they are waiting for customers to come in and help them, there are more things to do to help starlite become a successful, clean facility. It's gone downhill over the years. The owner is cool but the manager Chris, has an attitude that's outta this world! He's not adept at customer service, always gruff, and rude and seems to enjoy spending his time bowling not working. Sure, he'll put you on the waiting list, but you'll be lucky if you actually get a lane. The bar is a typical hole in the wall but, cool and the bar staff is friendly. However, watch out for cocaine and cocaine residue on the bar top. No amount of remodeling is going to cover the stank and dirt in the building because it's old and simple aesthetic remodeling hasn't helped. The floors in the approach seating area are sticky and covered in stains and the approach itself is sticky causing you to trip when throwing the ball. Someone is going to injure an ankle or foot! The bathrooms are gross and never seem to be clean. The men's room has had a broken urinal for over a year and the ladies room floor is always piled high with used paper towels. There's literally dirt and debris built up on every floor and wall in the building and, every surface you touch leaves you feeling like you literally put your hand into Covid. If it's not dirty, it's sticky. Make sure to bring your own socks otherwise, you'll pay $5 for their vending machine socks that they literally purchase from the dollar store. Even the vending and gaming machines are covered in a thick layer of filth. I will however, give props to them for their food. I get it, it's a bowling alley so one shouldn't expect much but, who wants to go out for a night of fun then come home feeling like they've rolled around in a trash bin? read more

As a regular customer, I never really thought the food here was great. After hearing they hired a new chef and the great reviews I have heard about him... I decided to give it another shot and I'm glad I did. He has made some much needed changes to the menu and added new items that are delicious. I so wish you'd answer your phone and have the courtesy to tell people that you have a waiting list 10 people long and they shouldn't drive out unless they want to wait a few hours to bowl. After hearing rave reviews about the new chef I was sadly disappointed. I stopped in to try a special. I had to settle for the menu Plain Jane burger which was oaky but not great. The bartender was not equipped with the wine selection. I asked what she had in terms of wine. She said everything was by Sutter Home. Ugh. So I settled on the Cabernet Sauvignon which was a Woodbrigde. Then I glanced over her shoulder to see two bottles of Rose. I inquired and she said, "Oh I forgot these came in the other day." Luckily she gave me the Rose and passed the already poured glass of red to her best friend down at the end of bar as a freebie. It's your typical bar and eats inside a bowling alley. This place is decent but they filter alot of songs on their jukebox. They will allow all the raunchy rap songs but they wont allow metal or hard rock songs which is stupid. The owner must have his head up his ass so far he can taste his own ignorance. The staff is great and Kat in the bar is the best, but really no slipknot but you'll let sexual rap songs play all night. Totally stupid. Go to Museum club next door to listen to what you want. I'm a big fan of the "old" way of life. To see Starlite come back with a boom makes me so happy! As a part of Flagstaff and US 66 history, I am super stoked to see the old school feel remains even as it has been updated. The new owners seem to be digging in and doubling down on giving back to the community (I.E. free bowling for the kids during our snow days and during spring break). We don't go as often as we'd like to, but when we do it is ALWAYS a good time. This is a great place to spend some time with the family and have some fun! read more
