I've been searching for a decent soup dumpling spot and was recently recommended to come here. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it actually wasn't crowded. You have to order at the counter right when you enter, you'll be given a number which you will leave on the table so the staff can deliver your food to you. Also, the place is cash only. There was a line to order even though it wasn't busy and there were seats available. So we grabbed a menu from the counter and took a seat instead of standing by the door while looking at the menu. One of us just waited at the table while the other one went to order. We ordered original soup dumplings, leek and pork potstickers, and scallion oil mixed noodles, with a coke, and everything came out to be $17, which is very good in my opinion. All our food arrived at the same time and I was just so excited to eat after seeing how beautifully crispy the leek pork potstickers were. So of course I had to eat that first. After eating one I just thought "wow this is so good"and immediately I had to try the soup dumplings, also so delicious, and then the noodles, good also. We just devoured everything really quickly. Everything we ordered were flavorful and with just the right texture, soft where it's supposed to be soft, and crispy where it should be crispy. We even ordered another leekpork dumplings (need to get back on line and get another number) We had a bit of an issue with ordering soy sauce, because the staff working during that time didnt speak much English and they didn't know what we were saying, but it's okay, a nice lady helped us translate. I got the xiao long bao (soup dumplings), the assorted duck vermicelli noodle soup, and the scallion oil mixed noodles. I've had better xiao long bao. There wasn't a lot of soup. The filling was only okay, and the dumpling skin was on the thicker side. The filling wasn't rich enough for me. The assorted duck vermicelli noodle soup was the best out of the dishes. There were a lot of noodles and meats in there. However, the dish made me really thirsty. The scallion oil mixed noodles were overcooked and therefore mushy. Yozi Noodles is self service establishment, meaning you place your order right when you walk in and then you seat yourself by choosing any available table to sit at with your given order number tag. A server will bring you your food items and that's where the service ends, so there's really no tipping necessary. Keep in mind, you will need to grab your own utensils at the designated area and you can leave your plates at the table in the end. The establishment is clean, everything is straightforward, and the food is tasty. They offer great combos at a decent price. This time around I was able to try combo B2 (duck noodles + soup dumplings), B4 (wontons + fried buns) and some pot stickers. Everything was delicious!! I recommend trying the fried buns as they were fried with a crispy bottom but still had a good amount of soup inside. A year afterwards, Yozi still continues to be my favourite fast food spot in Brooklyn's original Chinatown. Came here yesterday during lunch time, and there was a line with the cashier from the influx of lunchers. Upon arriving, you place your order with the cashier and you are given a order beeper you bring to your table and your food is brought to you at your table. When I finished eating, I checked with the cashier where to bring my places and was told to leave it on the table (which, is different from most fast food joints). Definitely tip the staffs for their hard work! They accept cash, and credit card however there is tax for credit card payments. This place is loved by locals for its conveniences and availability of delicious authentic Chinese cuisine from reknown areas of China such as Chongqing and Nanjing (dishes ie chongqing chicken and Nanjing duck). During yesterdays visit, i saw on the menu there is small and large serving of the ma la fish stews and small is the perfect individual portion. They had duck noodle soup, tofu noodle soup, chicken feet, cucumber salad, sour pickled fish and beef, sweet tofu, fresh soy milk, it had everything! I ordered the fried tofu and vermicelli noodle soup, soy milk, tofu with ginger syrup, cucumber salad, chicken feet and it only cost $30 total! The fried tofu noodle soup didn't have depth but was light and perfect for the night. The soy milk didn't make my throat itchy. The cucumber salad was a tad too spicy not vinegary enough. This place gets pretty busy and packed and I was a bit overwhelmed my first visit. I had to wait for a table by the entrance and the employee in the front gave us menus to look at while we wait so we can order ahead of getting seated. I was not aware that we had to order up front with her instead of a waiter taking our order once we got seated. It's pretty much a casual, grab your own table type of restaurant. Once we got a table, then we realized we had to order up front. There is a server who brings you your food after you order though. I ordered the hot and sour noodles with intestines, mixed gizzards and their special combo with noodles and soup dumplings. I really liked the mixed gizzards -- I like the spice/sauce they used. Not spicy but has that Szechuan pepper flavor. I did not really care for my hot and sour noodles. The broth taste very vinegar and had a strong store-brought vinegar scent that I couldn't get over. You can sit yourself anywhere with a menu but when it comes time to order you order at the front then pay and get a number which lets the staff know who ordered what. Payment is always upfront and upon paying, the receptionist hands you a locator. Return to your seat and when the food's ready, a server will deliver the food straight to your table. This is a relatively new eatery on 8th Avenue Brooklyn, with some impressive Xiao Long Bao. It is a dine-in shop, seats are first come first serve (Find your own spot). Placed order upfront with the cashier and waitstaff will deliver to where you sit. Ordered a couple of Xiao Long Baos and a Mala Beef noodle soup to-go. I liked the dumplings purely because the outer layer isn't too thick or doughy, though the soup didn't hold too well either. The tri-color dumplings didn't taste any different than the regular ones, but it cost a few bucks more. Noodle soup was alright, I prefer my noodles to be more bouncy (QQ). Foods is very tasty, I notice they raised the price, but it's still worth it, my favorite is the combo vermicelli tofu soup with the pan fried dumplings combo. This would be my go to spot in the winter for some nice warm noodle soup. I also like the fact that they place the sign that gratitude is not required. When you order you pay first before the food is served. It's served on a tray like when you go to a food court, meaning it's a self cleanup. This review is for a take-out order as I recently managed to stop by Yozi to try out their signature Osmanthus Duck Vermicelli Noodle Soup ($9.99). The order was neatly packaged in a single bowl with the noodles and duck separated above their milky bone broth. I think this noodle soup was okay but my biggest complaint was that their Nanjing salted duck was sliced so thinly that shards of bone were dispersed throughout the soup and I had to carefully and gently chew in case I would crack my teeth. Definitely a choking hazard-- would not recommend to young children or seniors. I'm not sure why the noodle soup is called osmanthus duck as I did not get a taste or whiff of the fragrant flowers anywhere. read more

Be mindful that the dumplings do take longer to cook and serve as they was served last to us oddly enough. Highly recommend their corn and pork fried dumplings. I would come back just for these. SOOO crispy and juicy and the corn oddly works. We also got their fried buns. We expected the thick skin buns with crispy bottoms but to our disappointment it was just fried Shao long baos. Uhh not what we expected. Their original duck noodles were ok. Nothing too amazing the soup was flavorful and noodles were bouncy. We also got that spicy chicken pot which I loved. We got spicy and sour duck noodles, braised beef noodles, corn pork potstickers, and regular soup dumplings for $31 (not including tax) I ordered the spicy and sour duck noodles but didn't know it only comes with duck innards (blood, liver, etc.) and there's no actual duck meat inside. It wasn't mentioned and I don't eat duck innards lol but other than that, the soup and noodles were good. The soup dumplings were really juicy but my fave items were the corn and pork potstickers- they add a dumpling skirt to it so it's extra crispy. A solid lunch spot with affordable price point, great service but no free water When we arrived, we grabbed a menu at the front and took a seat to decide. Went back to the front cashier to pay with cash (no tax or tip added) and got this number device which the servers would know where you're located/what you ordered. There wasn't much duck meat but it's tasty if you find pieces with not much bones in it. A lot of parsley and fried tofu pieces swimming in the milky colored msg-salty soup. Next came the lucky six dumplings, the taste was a bit underwhelming compared to the colorful looks. My friend said there are suppose to be 6 different flavors but I couldn't taste a major difference. They still taste good like the average soup dumpings. Last came the corn and pork dumplings (10 pieces) which might have the best dish of all. Each piece wasn't that big, more on the long side and they did not skimp on the corn. I think it was even better cause it actually came HOT. Cause we were so thirsty, we bought a bottle water($1) here not knowing they don't serve water. The milk tea jelly dessert as a whole was a bit funky with the raisins and haw flakes added in. There was a lot going on but if you taste the milk tea jelly by itself, it's decent. My favorite would be the coup dumpling, the pan fried dumplings, the spicy chicken pot. The soup noodles were good, actually prefer the duck one since the broth was very flavorful, the beef was bit spicy but eat it quick or noodles will get soggy. This place I love because of their flavors and how well they played their food even when it's for takeout. I order here occasionally for dinner and it always comes with the same fish so I really appreciate that. We ordered the spicy cucumbers, the pickled fish with rice and the soup dumplings. I find it really fun that the dumplings come in different colors, although they taste the same really cool to take a picture of and just see it. The service is okay. I see that they're really trying to get the food out for the takeout and the in dining orders. The ambience is like a Fujian restaurant. Everything used the same dipping sauce. The soup dumplings were mild in flavor and the dipping sauce added nice salt and slight sourness. The potstickers were good too. The sauce cut the fat from the fried part. Same for the fried buns. I like that the food wasn't too heavy and didn't sit in my stomach. I went there because I was in the area doing an assignment and was happy when I was back again another time to try it again. No it's not the best, but for the price it's pretty good. The food was a great amount, I ordered the hot and sour vermicelli with beef and it filled up me and my sister, we also ordered the jelly and tofu dessert, personally I don't like tofu but my sister rly enjoyed it, if you're not a raw tofu person I recommend the jelly instead. read more
