When I visit a food place, the last thing I want to be greeted with is a smiling human face. I'd much rather stand there for 10 minutes watching 3 expressionless zombies ignore me and tend to more important matters. So to my delight, this is exactly what happened when I strolled in for pizza on Monday night. I was made to feel like an inconvenience as I was greeted with a flat "what do you want?" Now I'm the kind of guy that just LIVES to be treated this poorly - especially when seeing an option to leave 30% tip. This lack of human connection is usually enough for me to give a restaurant 5 stars. But alas, when the pizza arrived at our table, it was delicious. This drags my review down to 3 stars. How can I continue being miserable eating such yummy food? My message to the manager: if you're going to insist on creating a horrible customer experience, don't stop short with the food. Simply, this place has a great kids meal... personal-sized pizza, small drink, and gelato for $9.99. My 4yo loved the pizza and mango gelato she got for lunch today. The owners were very personable and playful as they bantered about the new discovery of Tajin seasoning for sweet foods. So good food, good deal, good people. We are coming back tomorrow for lunch! --- We came back and it was amazing! The husband and wife duo were kind and patient. They took care of us well and were a pleasure to talk to. The only thing that keeps us going back here is the free kids meals on Mondays which also include a drink and gelato, which is the kids's favorite part. Their price increases have just gotten to be way too high. It's about $12-$13 for an individual pizza which is the same price for a large chain pizza. In fact, you can easily spot all the increases as their menu has the new prices taped over almost every item on the menu. You are able to customize it which I do like as I often get the Alfredo sauce and do a chicken sausage artichoke type combo. The service this last visit was excellent however the time before that we had ordered two adult pizzas and two kid pizzas and when we got home, we realized they had given us two pizzas that were not ours so I had to drive back to the store to resolve the issue. They did make a fresh pizza, but that wasn't the first time something has happened with our orders being wrong and not realizing it until we are home so I guess it is pertinent that I checked the orders before I leave the store which I don't have to do at any other restaurant. Happy Pie day!! To join the fun on pie day I placed an online order for a customized 10" pizza at You pie right here in Durbin. My pizza was supposed to be ready at 12:30 when I arrive; however, I had to wait an extra 20 minutes past the estimated time, which I found to be quite ridiculous. This lack of punctuality is definitely not reflective of good customer service. However, I must say that despite the inconvenience, the pizza itself was delicious. The flavors were on point and the crust was cooked perfectly. I just wish the overall experience wasn't marred by the delay on my order. I hope that in the future, this restaurant can work on improving their food preparation time to ensure a more positive experience for their customers. Brought our 82 mother here and they wouldn't let her order from the kids menu. We were also ordering two adult entrees. Owners- I get that you have the right to price the way you want. It just pisses us off when it's obviously greedy. Nothing stops me from going to my car and ordering 2 adult entrees and a kids meal online for pick up. The employees are well trained and very accommodating to your needs. The food is fresh and delicious. New to the area, we are so glad we have a Your Pie in the neighborhood that is conveniently close, makes great food, and has excellent service. A new, Your Pie, a build-your-own-pizza joint slated to open up this Friday, July 19th (Grand Opening). It is located in the first phase of The Pavilion at Durbin Creek in the Saint John's area. The first phase will house a multi-tenant shopping area and once complete, will rival the local Jacksonville shopping areas like the Town Center. We attended a Dine In & Donate event here, donations going towards to Saint John's P.A.L. (Police Athletic League). Additionally, it was a Soft Opening for this location. So like with all new store or business openings, I was expecting pandemonium and chaos, with new employees, etc. Oddly enough, it never happened at this place, despite the line of hangry people being out the door at one point. So big Kudos to all the Your Pie staff. They handled the madness as if they have been opened for months already. We ordered all 10" pizzas, all custom orders. We received our pizzas rather quickly. The crusts are made in advance, but they still taste fresh. The service was very fast. The employees had good attitudes in general, and they were attentive to details. This is an important detail to me, because I can't stand it when employees apparently hate their job. The building is new so the interior was really clean except the bathrooms. Now, the bathrooms are not gross like what you are thinking. There was a lot of dirt on the floor. I think this is because of the construction employees working on the other buildings in the area tracking in dirt constantly. I could see where that would almost be impossible to keep up with. However, I would still want them to go in regularly to check on cleanliness. If not for the dirt in the bathrooms, this place would get 5 stars. We decided to give this new place a try here in the Durbin Park shopping center. Since we have been to many other Your Pie locations around town with very delightful food, we wanted to check this location out. We ordered three items to-go: a build your own (BYO) pizza, a turkey, bacon & chicken panini and an order of cheesy bread-- which is sadly not offered at this location. So we opted for the cheese sticks instead for a try. The staff was very friendly when working with our orders. Our dishes went down the prep line quickly and on the build your own pizza, the nice lady was extremely conservative on ingredients, but wasn't a sweat asking for more. After arriving to our destination, we checked our food. To our disappointment, two of our three meals had been charred. The panini's bun was blackened on the outside and the cheese sticks had burnt areas on the underside of the crust. We also observed there was some burned artifacts from the oven and corn meal (or what appeared to be that) on the bottom of the cheese sticks. The BYO pizza was fine and the crust wasn't burnt at all. Some advice to management, please work out the kinks with your newly opened venue to improve the quality control of your products prepared for your customers. 2 star rating because the BYO pizza was alright and we'll give this place the benefit of the doubt, since it is newly opened. We will give this place a try again in the future and update this review based on outcome of that. Pizza here is great. Delicious. And if you're lucky you may get a friendly host to prepare your pizza without making you feel inferior as you choose toppings. If you're really lucky they will generously make you a solid pizza. Sometimes, unfortunately, you're not so lucky. The gluten free crust is a nice bonus until you find out it costs your left kidney.
