Cool bar in a great location. This location was following all available Covid protocol. Fast, friendly, and efficient bartender. Great seating areas. There is so much cool stuff to look at. Highly recommend!

Here's a picture of my joggers that "were not up to dress code"

I was not allowed in because I was wearing joggers? That's kind of a strange dress code to enforce considering they look/fit similarly to skinny jeans that I saw many other people walk in with. If this was an upscale bar with an established dress code, I would understand, but this bar is not that. I know some places don't allow hats or baggy clothes, also understandable, but I've never had any problems with wearing "joggers" to a bar. Judging by some of the other reviews, it seems like the bouncers seem to have an issue with gay people so maybe that was it. I'll make sure to tell all my gay friends to come here but to leave their joggers at home lol

I will never come back to this bar again. They are racist, and have no care in the world about others. Late Saturday night/Sunday morning, we were in line at the bar because it was Halloween. We were next in line, and my husband, who is black, watched a big group of people come out. The caucasian bouncer did not let anyone in, and after a while, my husband asked the bouncer if he could go to the restroom since a lot of people just came out. The bouncer said "If you are going to bitch about it, then you can get the fuck out of my line." My husband then went on to say that he could not talk to him like that, and the bouncer said that you he could meet him down the steps for a fight. He then grabbed my husband by his shirt collar/neck, and drug him down the stairs where he started to fight him. My husband was able to defend himself against the bouncer, but then a Hispanic bouncer came from behind him and choked him out. Luckily the police were able to get involved and saw that my husband did nothing wrong to deserve that kind of treatment. With this being said, my husband was not arrested, which is a good thing, but the bouncer who initiated the altercation was not penalized in any way, and neither was the one who choked my husband out. My husband's shirt was stretched out and torn at the collar, and he lost his voice for two days. This is not right, and no one deserves to be treated like this. I am happy that everyone made it safe out of this situation, but I feel like justice has still not been found. I am attaching a picture of the bouncer who initiated the fight. If I could give this place zero stars I would, but in order for people to see the experience we had, I have to settle for one.

beanies are not allowed in the bar at Your MomsPlace. It's cold outside Your Moms owners.

So I absolutely had a wonderful time. I walked in, ID checked, and ordered a vodka cranberry tall. My boyfriend and friend ordered beers near the entrance. Good way to keep the beer drinkers from the bar. Let us liquor drinkers get what we like with shorter lines. I bet since I had such a great time why would I leave one star. An hour and 15 minutes from walking in I was asked to remove my beanie. Mind you this morning it was 33° with snow furries and currently it's 38°. Your Mom's House is partly open to the elements. So when I was told to remove it, my boyfriend right away asked if I wanted to leave I said yes. I stepped away quickly to the bar to close my tab. Unknowingly the Man/ Enforcer followed me. I asked the bartender to close me out and she started to do so. The "Man", same who asked me to remove the beanie and not make his job harder, just do it, screams at the bartender and says, "he's done." I turned around and said sir, I am closing my tab. I wrote a note on the back of my credit card receipt for the bartender apologizing for ordering just one drink. I intended to order more. My boyfriend of course ordered shots and such on his card as well as my friend. I wrote on the note, "sorry for being cold," as well. The "Man" started to explain it was not bc we are gay. I said that's fine. But it's my first time here and I won't be coming back." He's said that's okay. Well, it sure is. I'll be spending my money else where. I really wanted bottle service for my birthday next week. Too bad. I'll spend else where. Unbeknownst to me the "Man" told my boyfriend to leave as well while I was waiting to get my tab as well. He did not have a beanie on. I'm assuming that why my boyfriend thinks this is a homophobic bar. Too bad about that corner of bars. Landmark is racist and now My Moms House may just be homophobic. West 7th.. what is going on?

There's not a bad seat in the house, where you can't see what's going in so definitely a plus. Food was okay. They hit the mark on their appetizers! We all enjoyed the waffle cheese fries, mozzarella logs, & boudin balls. My friends had the lemon butter chicken, both said the flavor was good but that the chicken was a bit dry, they did enjoy the cheese corn grits. Pasta alfredeaux, my friend thought it could use more seasoning. I had the cajundilla, it's a heavy entree. There's a lot of flavors in there but they needed more than just onions to bring some freshness to it. I did enjoy the red beans & rice that they came with. Seemed like the sides were better than the main part of each entrée. Cleanliness 4/5, nothing is ever going to be perfect but the restroom needed more attention than what it had been given & our seats where kinda "eh" upon being seated. Staff & service, 5/5. Excellent! Shantiva was our waitress. She was attentive, polite, patient, & was knowledgeable about the menu. Great personality! Really any staff member we interacted with was super nice including the hostess & the servers that helped being our food out. Easy to pay by QR code, very convenient. Prices are fair, with lots to choose from on the menu. Overall a good experience!

We asked for the check, and was told there was a "corporate situation" where we had to leave a review to receive the bill. I couldn't believe it, so I repeated, "we have to leave a review just to get the bill???" The answer was yes. Our bill was being held hostage. We were stunned as our waiter told us we'd "get points for reviewing" (not restaurant points btw, these are Google points) and pressured us to scan the QR code and stood there watching to make sure we had put 5 stars on everything. When he saw I was hesitant to do so, he said just one of us could do the review to get the bill. This is unbelievable business practice and extremely uncomfortable. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend this establishment and will not be returning.

For an appetizer, we enjoyed the ceviche along with the complimentary chips and salsa. One of the best parts of having a cocktail and appetizer here is the authenticity of the flavors. The margaritas were made with fresh ingredients instead of syrupy mixes, which made a huge difference. The Ceviche ($14) was made with pez dorado (mahi-mahi), tomato, lime, jalapeños, onion, and avocado. The lime really enhanced the freshness of the mahi-mahi, making this late lunch one I'd happily have again. I'm excited to try out more of the menu! It was also great to learn that this is a family-owned business that takes pride in providing excellent service and high-quality food. We'll definitely be back!

They were cooked perfectly and the dill flavor was just perfect, not over powering at all. The spinach artichoke dip was rich and creamy. The cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks, outstanding. The coleslaw was bland and could have used more acid. The fettuccine Alfredo needed more sauce but they brought a side of it right out. It had broccoli and blackened chicken. A savory garlic knot on the side of the plate, yum. To top everything off my friend had a free pozzokie which is a baked cookie with ice cream and this Oreo cream stuff, omg! Sooo goooood! Our waiter, John, acted like he did not want to be there. It took for ever to order and longer still to get our food. My wife asked for limes for her water three times before he brought lemons.
