His family was there for the summer to help out, and they were so kind and friendly--very personable. This is a family-operated cabin "campsite" that is perfect for a great blend of comfort and "roughing it." The amenities are basicallly this: beds/bunks to sack out it, gorgeous lakes to fish in, a boat that comes with the cabin rental (motor not included), TV, community fire pit, full kitchen, and bathrooms :) nothing fancy like indoor pools or high-speed internet--it's a great place to get out and just enjoy pure nature! I feel so refreshed after staying here...ahhh... There are paddle boats and skis to use. My dog was welcome; in fact, there were a few camp dogs that belonged to the family--all very friendly and trained. The cabins are all set up close to each other, far enough to be private, but close enough to feel like a friendly community. Be prepared to get to know the other guests--it seems like those who go to Jay's are all super-friendly people who love and respect nature. Word of advice: take your own towels for showering and cleaning, and (if you go in the summer) take bug spray and sunscreen! The office sells ice and s'mores fixings, bug spray and sunscreen, and fish bait. They also have TONS of board games to borrow while you stay. *We stayed in cabin 9.

Laundry room onsite, as well as a sauna. Plenty of things to do nearby, as well, but we were perfectly content staying at the resort all week. Did our sightseeing by boat or kayaking. The resort owners were great, too, very nice people. ***UPDATE:*** One of resort owners, Becky, called my brother the evening after we left. She demanded a cleaning fee, because the place was a mess. Took them 2 whole hours to clean a 3 story cabin. I was among the last to leave, and know what the place looked like. All dishes were done, kitchen was cleaned up and swept. The way Becky put it, one would think we'd staged a food fight in there on the final morning. We left a few unopened packaged food items, and some produce on the kitchen table, as they wouldn't fit in the car. And, I forgot to dispose of a carton of eggs and some opened milk that was left in the fridge....as well as a six pack of beer. In any case, now I have a bad taste in my mouth. Seems like a money grabbing ploy to me. Luckily there are many other places to stay on the Cisco Chain, because we loved the area

UPDATED REVIEW SINCE 2016…read more we rented Bubba Boat for several years now and the service and condition of the boats have become worse and worse through the years. This year we rented from Saturday to Saturday even though we weren't staying at our rental until Sunday. When we arrived on Sunday we were all ready to take the pontoon boat out, but there was less the 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. We were stranded and someone from Bubba's company did not arrive to fill it with gas until 7pm that night. An entire day was lost and there was NO hint at a discount or change in price to this error. We contacted Bubba on Friday to see when pick up was and we kindly requested a later pick on Saturday due to the inconvenience caused on that Sunday and we were met with "we'll see what we can do." Paying an astronomical amount of money per day should result in a boat in perfect condition....not mold, leaves and pine needles in every cushion lifted up. I'm beyond appalled with the condition and service of the boat rental. If you're up in this area go with ANY OTHER RENTAL and you'll be better off.

We found Land O' Lakes Nature RV Campground to be exactly the peaceful getaway we were hoping for…read more The campground is absolutely beautiful and incredibly quiet. The sites are all pull-throughs, plenty big enough for our coach and Jeep, and most of them have a great view of the pond. If you're looking for paved roads, concrete pads, fancy bathhouses, and all the typical campground amenities, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a place with amazing star-filled skies, tall pines, fresh air, and the sounds of nature, Land O' Lakes delivers. There are easy hiking trails throughout the woods, and having free firewood available was a really nice bonus. Matt, the owner/manager, was friendly, helpful, and clearly takes a lot of pride in the campground. You can tell he cares about keeping the place clean, peaceful, and well-run. We enjoyed our stay at Land O' Lakes Nature RV Campground so much that we've already booked our reservation for next year. It's a special place, and we're looking forward to coming back. There is plenty to do in and around the small town of Land O' Lakes, WI. Boating, fishing, off-roading, and hiking are just a few of the ways to enjoy this beautiful area. During our stay, we visited several local favorites, including Bent's Camp, Cisco Lake Resort, The Burnt Bridge Tavern, and Dublin Sports Bar & Grill. Each offered great food, friendly people, and a fun North Woods atmosphere. Best of all, they are all within about a 30-minute drive of Land O' Lakes Nature RV Campground.

The location is perfect; quiet, secluded, wonderful and well-maintained trails for hiking and biking. We were close enough to town to bike in, but far enough away to feel we were in our own little oasis. To top it off, the managers are phenomenal, and always helpful when needed. You know the horsie rides at the carnival where you have ponies go around in a circle and pay $5 to…read moredo that for a few minutes? Well, that is so lame and a huge ripoff. Might as well be the blue quarter-horse outside the Wal-Mart. Pine Point is located on US-45 about 4 miles north of the main part of Eagle River, which is a touristy town in northern WI. We knew about this place for a while and decided to check it out on our most recent trip up north. For $18 a person ($15 with Facebook promotion) you can ride a real full-sized horse on a real trail for about 45 minutes. They have rides every hour and you might not even need a reservation if it isn't a busy day. It's easy to spot with flags on a string and a sign for "riding stables" pointing to the entrance. We came on a Saturday afternoon thinking it would be crowded but we were the only 4 people at the riding stable. My 6 year old even got to sit on his own horse and being the courageous kid that he is, didn't freak out or want someone to ride with him. I got a perpetually hungry white horse named Silver who, unlike the Lone Ranger's horse, was only out on the trail looking for branches to munch on along the way. I had to prod him along and coax him to stop eating. The guy who gave us the horses warned me that he's a muncher... It was a pleasant ride through the wooded trail that spans the 60 acres of the property. We had a guide lead us along the way and the horses followed her lead horse without us having to so much as steer them once in a while if they had other ideas. And the entire experience was so much worth the money. And don't worry. These are nice horses that won't leave you like Christopher Reeves. We came back after our ride and they even let us stick around to get a few more photos of our horses... especially mine, who posed while chewing a branch from a shrub it found along the way. But as Bruce Springsteen sings: "Everybody's got a hungry horse". So if you're in northern WI looking for something to do, check out Pine Point for a fun horsie ride.
