The work is done right the first time - and ready when promised. They also put the boat lift in at the house in the spring and take it out in the fall. Their prices are fair, and the fact that they're genuinely nice people is a bonus.

Both parties agree to reconnect the next day to review a possible 2-day rental if weather conditions improved. He then calls the next day to ask why we didnt pick up the rental the prior day (that they cancelled), went back against his word said he would be billing for all 3 days as it was our fault for not picking up the rentals AND his "system" would not allow him to refund or change any reservations. We fully canceled the rental due to poor and shady business practices and rented somewhere else (Go to Tracksides instead). Boat Sport calls back 45 minutes later now wanting to negotiate "a new deal" and would now (again) honor a 2-day rental and not charge for Friday but we had already gone with another rental place. Next day places a charge against the credit card for thousands of dollars for a 3-day rental and full deposits. Called and they would not discuss details. Talked over us and stated everything was documented, it was their policy and he was entitled to all the money even though no services were rendered. Kept changing his story - flip flopping and didn't keep his word. SUPER SKETCHY! DO NOT RENT FROM!

My son and his wife had just arrived at our Minocqua cabin to begin a 10 day vacation on September 4th. Their very first night out on the water with our pontoon boat, the starter goes out on the Mercury outboard. Having been a long time patron of Ron Hallstrom's Marine, I decided to take the boat in to Lakeland Powersports (new owners of The former Hallstrom's Marine). I was keenly aware that it was after Labor Day and the rush to winterize watercraft was well underway. On Thursday morning, September 5th, I approached the service counter at Lakeland Powersports and Derek (Service) immediately greeted me by name and inquired as to what my service issue with my boat was. I described my starter issue and explained my family circumstances. Derek replied that he would get the boat looked at before the end of the day and order any needed parts. On Friday afternoon, September 6th, at 3:00 P.M., I received a call from Derek advising me that the new starter for my outboard had been shipped overnight and had been installed. My boat was ready to be picked up - less that 30 hours after I had first brought it in. I simply cannot say how grateful I am to Lakeland Powersports and Derek in the Service Department for saving our family fishing vacation. Derek is an outstanding ambassador for Lakeland Powersports and his efforts underscore the owner's commitment to putting people first.
