My issue was with the Anderson Lake Lodge where my family stayed for two nights between Christmas and New Years. The Lodge itself is very nice and a great place for entertaining. There were a few minor issues such as half the coffee maker not working and no heat in the clothes dryer. Don't where a good swimsuit in the hot tub as it will get bleached out and be careful because the controls are very worn. The big issue was mice. Our first morning there, I awoke to find food items left on the kitchen counter covered with holes and mouse poop. The bottom pan drawer next to the range has mouse poop in it. I actually saw a mouse in the basement both days, including the time it ran at my wife. I understand why mice would gravitate towards a remote home. What I don't understand is why there were no bait stations or traps anywhere to be found. The resort should have a professional exterminator regularly treat Anderson Lake Lodge so no one gets sick.

UPDATED REVIEW SINCE 2016…read more we rented Bubba Boat for several years now and the service and condition of the boats have become worse and worse through the years. This year we rented from Saturday to Saturday even though we weren't staying at our rental until Sunday. When we arrived on Sunday we were all ready to take the pontoon boat out, but there was less the 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. We were stranded and someone from Bubba's company did not arrive to fill it with gas until 7pm that night. An entire day was lost and there was NO hint at a discount or change in price to this error. We contacted Bubba on Friday to see when pick up was and we kindly requested a later pick on Saturday due to the inconvenience caused on that Sunday and we were met with "we'll see what we can do." Paying an astronomical amount of money per day should result in a boat in perfect condition....not mold, leaves and pine needles in every cushion lifted up. I'm beyond appalled with the condition and service of the boat rental. If you're up in this area go with ANY OTHER RENTAL and you'll be better off.

A group of 4 of us decided on a whim to go whitewater rafting, and it ended up being such a fun…read moreday! The day before our trip, Kosir's called to let us know the water levels on the Peshtigo were low and offered to switch us over to the Menominee instead. I really appreciated that they called ahead and gave us options to make sure we still had a great experience. When 2 more friends decided to join us a day before, they had no problem adding them to our reservation. The whole process was super easy from start to finish. Our guide, Mike, was amazing. He had us laughing the entire trip and was constantly telling jokes, and I felt completely safe the whole time. He answered all of our random rafting questions and was really knowledgeable about the river. The Menominee was a blast, and Mike made sure we got the full experience. The rapids were a ton of fun, we got to jump in and swim in the river, and he even took us "surfing" on the rapids. They also had a professional photographer (shoutout to Michael!) taking photos throughout the trip. Looking through the pictures afterward and seeing everyone's facial expressions was honestly hilarious, and he got the photos uploaded so quickly that we were able to start sharing them almost immediately. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kosir's. Great communication, super accommodating and friendly staff, and an all-around awesome experience!

We had a group of 6 which most of us had no rafting experience - 2 had been rafting, but had been…read more10+ years since they went. Our guide was named Michael, and he was absolutely incredible. He had us in stitches the entire shift - he had the perfect balance of jokes while still maintaining a professional and serious concern when it came to safety. Honestly, I could not say enough about Michael, he absolutely made the trip for our entire group. We are already planning to go back in the spring time and hit both the rivers! On our trip we just did the Menominee river. They take you around some smaller rapids to begin with, and once you get to the section of the river with bigger rapids, you get to go down twice. There is terrain for everyone from super long greens that still have some roll to blues with big head walls and steep groomed and ungroomed blacks and glade runs that let you explore- you can have it all here. In a year I wasn't going to head out west, Powderhorn filled my need for great skiing! The lodge is new and comfortable (next year we will be able to use it more) and there are lots of places to stay including ski in and ski out on mountain (we did AirBNB 10 minutes away). If you want more adventure, Black Jack and Indianhead are a short drive away. There is not a big terrain park here but we still found lots of jumps and rock outcroppings to keep us busy!
