Wonderful experience on a beautiful 3 hour float on the Wisconsin River from RWT to County K sign. Lots of twists and turns and navigable obstacles. Path was kept just clear enough to keep it a fun little adventure. Very clean and lots of wildlife...if you're quiet. Very comfy sit on Kayaks. Knowledgeable outfitters. Can't wait to try the whitewater kayaking! read more

This is such a beautiful area and my understanding that it's the beginning of the Wisconsin river. We did (11 year old and 4 other young adults )the 1 hour kayak trip and we will do the 2 hour trip next. The stream never got over 4 ft but there were some navigations to be made around some stumps which made it fun. Just do it. read more

I have spent the last two summers as a student intern and researcher at Rohr's in the incredible cabin that they built themselves. Each summer was great and being able to get to know Jeff and Marcia really made the stay the best part. There are all types of places to lay your head when in the North Woods but only Rohr's has Jeff and Marcia and their excellent and friendly helper Michael. They are great people to get information from about the area and to just to strike up conversations with or spend time getting to know around the fire. They are also invaluable sources of wisdom and know-how for just about any plan or endeavor you put your mind to. Marcia taught me how to make their "campfire pizza" and Jeff kept me afloat literally and figuratively through the whole summer of 2018 as a first time kayaker collecting water samples for my internship. I've ended up taking up kayaking as a hobby of my own now and they were there to help me with advice and provide great gear from their camping/watercraft general store located on site. The land itself is beautiful, right along a river, dotted with hills, forests, clearings and mowed trails webbed throughout. It's also within 10-15 minutes within multiple gas stations and restaurants, and right off of highway 45. I would suggest that anyone visiting the area take advantage of how nice Rohr's is and take their vacation on the great set up they have built over the years there. Thanks for the last two summers, Jeff and Marcia. Looking forward to seeing you two again. -Robert Hall read more

This is a family destination. My family always wanted to learn to kayak. I found RWT on the net and am glad I did. They were very helpful explaining all the options on the phone. We decided on the 2 hour trip and it was perfect. The current was just strong enough to keep us moving forward. There were no Rapids which being new we didn't want to tackle anyway. The equipment worked perfectly. They picked us up promptly when we got to the mile marker. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Thanks for the great time RWT. read more

Wonderful campground for both the rv camper and tent camper with state park like ambiance and great facilities. 47 sites total with 25 pull thru sites with 30 and 50 amp service. Sections for tent campers and tiny campers, plus some walk-in tent sites on the river. Canoe and Kayak float trips everyday from our private boat landing on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River. Got your own boat, we can help you with your shuttle, stop by and we'll get you on the water. Enjoy hiking or biking - we have a groomed trail here on the property with a new disc golf course as well. Tubing is now available on the creek. In the winter months enjoy the trail on cross country skis. In June don't miss the Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe and Kayak Race to benefit Pediatric Brain Tumor Research - it's a great weekend of events. In July and August the blueberries are spectacular and our campers get to enjoy them. Nestle into the northwoods at RWT and enjoy your days away from home.
History
Established in 1983.
Started in 1983 as a wilderness travel business, evolved to canoe and kayak resort complete with offers for wilderness travel and education.
Meet the Business Owner: Jeff and Marcia R.
Jeff started the business in 1983 as a tour business, Marcia joined him a few years later and in 1992 they purchased the land in Wisconsin and began to develop the campground. It was just forest and Jeff could see what it could become, Marcia believed. Today we have a beautiful campground to share on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River. Paddling is our passion, come paddling and let us share our magnificent section of this wonderful river with you.
