Menu is pretty extensive but I finally settled on the Reuben and went with the soup as a side. The Reuben was delicious. Not overloaded like some try to do it but also not lacking. Delicious!. Flyers opens at 10am and offer only lunch, a nice break from eggs and pancakes IMHO, but some of the riders were disappointed by that. I had an Italian Submarine sandwich. It was huge and delicious. I hear that Flyers imports their hoagie rolls from Philadelphia and they are superb. No negative comments from anyone in our group about other meals. Service was very good. Rest room was clean. Staff were very friendly. Signage from the road is very difficult to see, but they say that they are working on that. The theme of the place focuses on the owners home town of Philadelphia, specifically the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. We'll be back!!

The burgers are fantastic (they offer several cheese options), the fries are pretty darn good (smooth fries, thicker than McDonald's, cooked to just the right combination of crispy outside/tender inside), the staff are friendly and helpful, and they've got a walk-up window and picnic tables for those of us who aren't ordering from a car and driving away. It's been a few years since I've had a shake there (dairy's not a good choice when bicycling in hot weather), but I remember them fondly as well. I live about 15 miles away, near Gainesville, and the only fast food style burger I've had in this general geographic area that even comes close to Shakers is from a little "weekday only, lunch only" place called Mac's. None of the big chains can touch Shakers. It's worth the ride.
