Fried shrimp platter with a side of fries Smoked ribs meal with collard greens, mac n cheese, and peach cobbler

First time here and it was amazing. Just left Manatee springs and was looking for something to eat we were planning on stopping at zaxbys but saw this place from the parking lot and decided to give it a try.. Upon walking in the inside was pretty clean it looked like a little mom and pop shop. The workers were super friendly as well. We got our drinks and placed our orders and within less than 10 minutes we got our food. The plates looked so delicious! I got the fried shrimp platter with fries and my boyfriend got the smoked ribs with collards, mac n cheese, and peach cobbler. Everything was amazing.. We didn't really care for the peach cobbler, there wasn't anything wrong with it i just don't like cobbler. Our total for everything came out to about $33 Definitely give them a taste if you're in the area!

Enjoyed a tasty homestyle country dinner. Portions were plentiful and cute atmosphere. The old phone booths are awesome to see!

Catfish beyond greasy, brussel sprouts were mush, broccoli salad way too much mayo. Just yucky! Heard another table complaining and decided to leave the server alone. Vents next to table very dirty.

Background:pork chops, mashed potatoes & gravy, Lima beans & peach cobbler. Foreground: liver& onions, coleslaw. Fresh warm yeast rolls.

We were traveling home from GA when I began checking the reviews on Yelp for a place to eat. I told my husband that we'd just find a place that has a lot of cars out front , which happened to be Bett's. It is a good old country diner. We both chose to eat a country dinner which included 3 sides. Sides included peach cobbler and red velvet cake. I'm a snob when it comes to fresh coleslaw. I was not disappointed. My liver and onions and my husband's grilled pork chops were great. There was too much to eat so we brought our peach cobbler to eat @ home. The staff was friendly. I would stop by again.

Breakfast. Very generous with the pork

Betts has not changed much since the early 70's. The food is good the portions are generous and the people are friendly. It's a country style place with home cooked food that has great breakfast. I always stop here because it breaks back beauty memories of my poppa Jack. Every winter we he would take me hunting north to Perry and we'd leave at 5 am, stop at Betts for breakfast then head to the camp. I miss him immensely.

Special of the day plus pricing

Good food and service. Ambiance is "old Florida", a perfect combination for a re-purposed truck stop.

By the time we reached, it was pouring rain and we were happy to escape into what the restaurant self-describes as a "folksy spot for BBQ and southern sides," The waitress tended to us immediately, and we were seated in a comfortable wooden booth and brought our menus. Being hungry, we ordered an appetizer (or a "Bubbatizer" in this restaurant) -- Fried Green 'Maters, served with ranch dressing. ($9.99). As per our usual, we planned to split our lunch, and were happy to find combo dinners on the menu. Pick 2 (for $21.99) or pick 3 (for $25.99). Either is served with two sides and a slice of Bubba Bread. We chose a "pick two" meal to share, selecting pulled pork and smoked turkey, with fried okra and mac-and-cheese. Other entree possibilities include Texas brisket, BBQ chicken (1/2), shrimp, Texas sausage, chicken tenders, 3 St. Louis ribs, 6 wings, or 3 sticky bones. There were many additional, enticing side dish possibilities as well. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed looking around the decor of the restaurant. Another reviewer referred to it as having "a cute but overdone redneck theme." This seems appropriate. The theme even extended to the restrooms. Our main combo meal was served quite quickly, even before our appetizer. The portions were good, and the food was tasty. We both preferred the pulled pork (5/5) to the smoked turkey (3/5), and enjoyed both of the sides. There was a selection of BBQ sauces at the table; we tried many! Given that we were splitting a meal, we should have also ordered an additional slice of bread. One drawback. We had already eaten half of our main meal when we asked the waitress about the status of our fried green tomatoes. They ended up being our dessert instead of appetizer. That said, they were hot and tasty, even given that we were already full. We hadn't realized while we were there that BubbaQue's is a franchise, with many locations in Florida, one in Louisiana. We will return when next in the south. We recommend the restaurant.

Entering it kind of reminds you of a farmhouse, I guess. Pretty standard furnishings and decoration for a country diner sort of place. Of course, we were there for breakfast, so the standard diner breakfast was on the menu. The full menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, and a couple of barbecue dishes. If there were more screens mounted on the walls I would call it a sportsbar, but that isn't the case. Our orders were taken, and I had gone for eggs, hashbrowns, and corned beef because it was St Patty's Day. Realistically one of the few times that I have legitimately had food that was appropriate for the holiday. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time for a group of ten, so the kitchen and staff knew what they were doing. The food was fine... nothing to really shout out about, but also not bad. It was what I expected it to be, and that was good enough.

1906 Farmhouse 25405 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669…read more ***SWILL ALERT*** Pulling up to the hitchin' post at the 1906 Farmhouse, all seemed well and fine. I don't mind themed restaurants (they can be fun). This place was designed to model the Farmhouse where the ranch hands gathered for meals before and after a long day of riding. I dug it. It gave off a warm, welcoming, one-of-the-family vibe. Kasey was my server for the meal and she was frowning before I asked one question. I placed an order for one Country Fried Steak with sides of Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese, along with some Strawberry Shortcake to round out the meal. I soon saw Cantankerous Kasey begrudgingly returning with my victuals. I don't understand this attitude. Am I supposed to be grateful she deigned to work here? Anyway, if any of you are curious like me, you may have often wondered what it was like to spend a day in jail. To that end, I admit, I got myself hauled off to the County Hoosegow. Wanting to make the most out of my tax dollars, I booked my stay to include lunch. The dry bologna sandwich you receive, along with the juice bag to wash it down, is something you try to forget. As I looked at the slop my trustee, Kasey, placed before me, I began to long for the county jail government issue bologna. The Country Fried Steak was fresh from the freezer and cooked with the precision of Stevie Wonder passing his behind-the-wheel driving test. I've been hit with hockey pucks softer than this garbage. The gravy was made in the Sysco factory and this had to be their bottom-grade slush. It was as tasty as flour and water. Wait. The sides were a step down from the entree, if that is possible. Just look at the pictures and tell me, does anything look appetizing? While I am not one to ever judge a book by its cover, as looks can be deceiving. In this case, they are not, and the adage 'a picture speaks a thousand words' is spot on. The Collard Greens were obviously from an industrial can. Hey, don't get me wrong, all restaurants use a food service, but you don't have to be cheap about it and try to finagle the dining population by using the lowest quality they have to offer. The Mac & Cheese looked more like something a dog regurgitated than actual food. It was dry and pasty on the palate--just the way it is not supposed to be. The Strawberry Shortcake is also food service, not unlike the stuff you got in high school, only worse. Kudos, 1906 Farmhouse, you officially serve Swill sans the fly. At least on this visit. The Big Boy says, "I wouldn't serve this SWILL to a dead dog."
