We made the trip from Dunnellon to Treasure Camp on Wednesday 3-25-2026. The building is not a lot to look at, but the food more than makes up for it. As you sit in the Restaurant or in the outdoor seating area, you have a great view of the beautiful historic Suwannee River. The Service is quite good and friendly. I had a cup of the Crab Bisque before my meal arrived. The owner makes it fresh daily. The waitress said they often run out of it. I ordered the Palm Salad , unfortunately it was already gone. For my Neal I had the Fried Grouper with Fried Okra and a Sweet Potato. The food was served nice and hot , cooked to perfection and was delicious. My wife had the Fried Grouper Sandwich. With Cole Slaw. She enjoyed it very much. . On their Website they guarantee that you will not leave hungry. That was true. We had enough leftover food to bring home enough for another meal. For Desert we decided to share the Brownie Sunday. In many restaurants desserts are served up in skimpy portions, not at Treasure Camp. The portion was so large that we both ate plenty of it and brought home enough to finish off another meal. If you enjoy a rich decadent gooey brownie with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream, this will be the dessert for you. They also had Key Lime Pie, sizzling Apple Pie and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Treasure Camp Restaurant is well off the beaten path, but the food makes the drive worthwhile. If you have a boat you can also arrive that way. There are some cabins, but we did not look at them . A boat ramp is adjacent to the Restaurant and Store. After your meal you can stroll along their dock. This Restaurant has a Chiefland address, but is well outside the town. We drive from Dunnellon about an hour away, we were told that they have frequent diners who come from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs which is even further. Most people would not make this trip unless the food made it all worthwhile. We would definitely make the drive back here again! read more

I read about this out of the way place on a "Best Off The Beaten Path Restaurants in Florida." Then I checked reviews and most were positive. So my wife and I drove from Deland to Treasure Cap; almost 3 hours. When we arrived, outside looked great, like the photos. We seated ourselves. Nice open restaurant, comfy cushioned chairs. Our waitress took our order: crabmeat stuff mushrooms, crab bisque, I ordered the blackened scallops with a side of potato salad and onion rings. My wife order the grouper with side of coleslaw and fried okra. She also asked for a water with lemon and I ordered a root beer. We got drinks and my said the water tasted bad. Then we got the appetizer of 6 small crabmeat stuff mushrooms. One bite and they tasted like they were bought at Costco or someplace pre-made. Didn't taste homemade. Crab bisque tasted more fishy then crab. Entrees arrived. My wife liked her grouper. My blackened scallops were the size of small fingernails! I never had scallops so small and they tasted rubbery. The potato salad and onion rings tasted store bought. Actually I don't think anything was homemade. Sad. Major disappointment since we were so excited about this place and drove almost 3 hours. My mom and I like to explore and find new places to eat and take in a view, and I had gone by this place once about a month ago and noted it in my head for a future place to try out with her. That time has come, and we made a trip out to Fowler's Bluff before heading out to Cedar Key. Pulling up, there is some amount of parking out front, though you need to be careful where you park as the handicapped parking is non-obvious. Walking in, there is an outdoor bar on the right hand side of the building that opens a bit later in the day, then the main dining area is upstairs overlooking the river. We first went out to the dock and looked out over the water... a number of wave runner folks were pulled in for a bite to eat, kind of a strange subcategory of bikers for the area. Walking up into the dining area, we were told to seat ourselves, so we did, and our drink order was taken. The menu is exactly what I thought it would be... typical deep fried items with a leaning towards seafood. I went for the Mahi sandwich with fries. The food was good, and I enjoyed it. It is a different atmosphere from what you are going to get in town anywhere, but it is still a good time. Walking out we chose to go through the front door. To do so, we basically had to go through their kitchen area, which seemed strange to me. There is a very small gift store area up front with fishing gear and some snacks, as they also double as a bit of a snack area for the boat ramp outside. We were a party of 11 on a Saturday. The kitchen is small, but the food came out in a steady stream. I had fried oysters and onion rings, my sister-in-law a cheeseburger with fries. Both were good. Oysters were plentiful and moist inside. Others had shrimp which got lots of praise. After lunch there were plenty of complements on the ambiance and food. We plan on returning. This place is deep in the country. When we left I had no cellular service and had to remember the roads we came in on. That and the cars compass got us well on the way. read more

What a great spot. A bit of a drive, but well worth it. Looks like it probably started out as a bait shop, bar and seafood market, but the restaurant that's attached. Is one of the most relaxing and inviting seafood restaurants we've been to. Great menu to choose from, outside bar and attached play area for kids. We were staying in Cheifland for a dive trip and this will be a regular now. Seriously the best food I've ever had! We were sat right by the river the place has amazing views and a great environment....the mahi tacos were absolutely amazing, I had the snow crab ($20 for a pound) which is great pricing it was 3 big bushels and it was the best crab I've had too. The freshest mahi I've had! Not to mention the sweet potato fries were also the best I've ever had, Our waitress was telling us about the treasure and lore of the restaurant it's just an amazing place only caveat as a non resident I wasn't aware of these little "flying teeth"(sand gnat) but a local gave us some bug spray and they never bothered us again...!!!!BRING BUG SPRAY!!!! read more

We've been here a few times and it's always been great. Once we put our boat in the the water there and it was peaceful to cruise the Suwannee and then eat at Treasure Camp. Went there for lunch the other day and it was very enjoyable, as always. I had blackened shrimp tacos with fries and they were really, really good. The shrimp was fresh and perfectly cooked. The fries were also really good - nice and crispy, not soggy. My husband had chicken wings and onion rings which he also enjoyed. Our waitress was very friendly. We'd go more often but it's at least an hour from where we live. Wish it was closer to us! read more

The food is typical Gulf Coast seafood and well prepared. The facility is a well kept Old Florida style with a lof of charm. The staff is geneally good except for one waitress that insisted that we had to leave our table because she had a party of 26 coming in. We were a party of 6 and had just finished our main course. It's been awhile since I visited Treasure Camp and I didn't know they had remodeled the restaurant and added a nice outside seating area. The menu was diverse, the food excellent, and the server checked on us often. The Suwannee is really nice to look at when the sun goes down, because I like the way the cypress trees reflect the light of the setting sun. I can't think of a nicer place to spend an evening and plan on visiting again soon. read more

Came here for lunch while we were in from New York visiting family. Quaint little restaurant on the bank of the Suwannee River. We came by boat and were able to dock right at the restaurant. For my meal, I had the grouper sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. I had the fried okra as a side. I grew up in Florida and know that okra HAS to be done right or it's disgusting. My wife and I stopped in for dinner the other night and LOVED this place! Nothing fancy, just great food and great service. Our server, GiGi, was the only one working that night and was able to handle several large parties and a few couples like us without anyone waiting too long. Thanks God she at least had help running food out from the kitchen. My wife ordered a blackened grouper sandwich that was fantastic and I got the Gulf seafood platter. It was so good, and there was so much food, I didn't even notice that I didn't get the oysters, but the lady running the food noticed and brought them out! I was on vacation and had previously researched restaurants for my 74th birthday dinner. Treasure Camp was an excellent choice!! My server was Breanna Phillips, and I want to mention her in particular because she was not only efficient, but friendly, fun, helpful, and she took her time to give me some valuable tourist tips for this beautiful area. She was super kind, made my birthday dinner special, and I loved talking with her. The restaurant is a little drive out from Chiefland, and on my way, I wondered if I had made a mistake. No way! Best decision of my entire vacation! It is SO worth the drive, which is quite lovely in itself. Then there is the setting of the restaurant on the banks of the historic Suwannee River, which is why I chose this restaurant. Such a beautiful setting. And I haven't even gotten to the food! My one dozen fried shrimp were exactly what I wanted for my birthday dinner. The price was also right ($18). Even just $5.00 for a generous glass of wine. Server went above and beyond and knew to bring extra plates for the littles to share their meal. I ordered a ribeye. Meat quality was good but the steak had a sour smell and taste. I talked to the manager and they didn't smell it but made another, same thing. It had a faint sour smell and taste. I've had their steak once before and it was good. I usually don't like pan fried. There also seemed to be a disconnect with the waitress leaving for long periods of time, I could see other customers getting irritated. Also the water was not good, it needs a carbon filter. I will not buy a steak next time. I hope they get their act together as it's has great scenery. read more
