We meet at this place for Mother's Day. We each drove half way there. It was a very bad experience. We waited for over an hour for our food and then it was disgusting. The "special steak" for Mother's Day was 1/8 inch and horrible. The expensive filet was way over cooked. My daughter sent hers back and they brought one out that was ice cold in the middle - not edible at all. The grouper was also nasty. My husband paid $170 for nothing. We were so glad that Who Dat was right next door to our condo. Walking distance is a good thinThey are welcoming, have plenty of room to sit and eat and the crowd is lively. This is not a classy place. They do have great bar food though that is fine for lunch, snacks or dinner. We came several times during our short stay in Steinhatchee and I ordered the Potato Skins every time I came! They were so good I failed to stop and take photos! Great place to grab a drink or more with a quick snack. Fried fresh seafood. Crap prices for the food and drinks, convenient if you are staying at the hotel. The hotel here is s ok, the staff is not inviting in the hotel or restaurant. Not sure what is going on but I did have a good time. The hotel is quite outdated, nylon bedspread, food on the floor by the cabinet in the kitchen, some dead bugs but for one night it was fine. It's right on the water. We looked at a shed even though we were waterfront. If you decide to book I would ask for a view or you will be looking at a parking lot or looking at a shed. Horrible service. Kitchen is very slow and does not even send out items together We ordered items. Fried veggie sampler and wings. After getting our sampler and finishing all we were going to eat about 20 minutes. We asked our server when we would get our wings and was told we would get them when the kitchen got around to it A couple minutes later a table who was seated at least 15 minutes after us got their wings before us. When I could get the servers attention again I asked to cancel the wings and asked to check out. We paid and left with out any tip. I told one of the servers the kitchen needed to do their job better. I was then followed out to the parking lot and verbally assaulted by the guy working in the kitchen. It was a nice Saturday morning, and I decided to take my mom to a place that she had never been to before, namely Steinhatchee. The town is a sleep fishing town somewhat off the beaten path, though not too inaccessible. We tooled around the town for about an hour or so, looking at the different places to eat and seeing the other sites. Eventually we ended up at the Who Dat Bar & Grill, which really fit our temperament. There was a bit of a wait for a table, as they were in a lunch rush and had limited staffing. Just one wait staff, who had help from the bar from time to time. No problem, that is the way things are these days, and we are patient people. A table opened up after about ten minutes of waiting, and we got seated. It was just nice to sit out on the pier, looking out at the water. Our waitress took a while to get back to us, because she had the entire dining area to deal with. We got our orders in, in my case I got the fish and chips. The food came out, and we chowed down. The fish was beautifully cooked, with just a light batter, and had a wonderful taste to it. The fries had a very interesting shape to them, but they tasted great and had a good potato taste to them as well, something you don't find in a lot of fries out there. If we ever get back out to the Steinhatchee area, this place will definitely be on our list of places to eat! read more

This is a small town local establishment. We boated in and had dinner. It is a Sunday after a weekend fishing tournament so YES they were out of everything. The bartender and only waitress was really friendly and did a nice job. They have one cook. My husband had the ribeye and said it was good. I had grouper strips (think fish nuggets) and sweet potato fries. Pretty tasty. A bit greasy but hey it's fried food. After reading the reviews we went in knowing service might be a little slow and that's half the battle. Mind set. We weren't in a rush and enjoyed the tunes. "Who Dat"...don't do it!!! I have been there 3-4 times and well it just has not gotten any better, only worse. The one star is only because of ONE server who had supported us twice before. She made the difference. But this last time is the last time. It took us 1.5 hours to get food, even after flagging down and reminding our server that we were waiting for our food and a pitcher of beer. We watched the pitcher of beer sitting on the bar for 20 minutes, until we went to the bar to ask about it. When the food finally came, most of our entrees were cold. They obviously were sitting. Interestingly, several times we observed many of the servers disappear at the same time. There were at least 6-8 other tables waiting on their food, hunting down their missing servers. There were MANY angry patrons. When we finally spoke to our server, who had been avoiding us, she advised that our food was being plated. This is what they were telling everyone, as we later found out because it was taking 30 minutes for the food to be "plated". This place is a BAR that sometimes serves food. One local man sitting at the bar since we got there, later approached us and told us that we didn't need to complain about the service. He was drunk and loved his bar. We wanted to love it too. Night before, they told be they could not get food for two hours. Next night, out of all food but appetizers and we tried to order wings but the waitress said they close in 20 minutes and had an order of 70 wings ahead of us. Who Dat has a fun atmosphere, but our party of 4 arrived at 6:45 pm, were seated right away, and ordered almost immediately. Unfortunately, our food did not come out until 8:30pm. We loved this place. It had a really cool atmosphere. It was built out on a dock over the water and was screened in. The weather was perfect to enjoy the restaurant and watch the boats coming and going. The food was very good also. We waited an hour for our food while they had only 7 tables total in the building. The server told us they were short staffed with servers however they were too concerned having social hour with their tables, each other, karoke and dancing inappropriately grinding on each other by the food dressing window. We asked for a to go box after becoming nauseous waiting for our food so long. We tipped poorly due to POOR service. As we are leaving the server that came to our table 3 times in an hour after having to call her over for the additional time yells out POOR TIPPERS. We will not be returning. We arrived at lunch time and were the only ones there when we arrived. The staff sort of acted like we were bothering them by being there. The food all seemed to be processed Sysco stuff that they dropped in the fryer with no additional seasoning. All of the sauces were served in prepackaged containers so nothing was made there as far as sauces and dressings are concerned. The food portions were large. The draft beer was not cold. The prices were reasonable. The dinner menu looked like it may be more food that was actually cooked fresh, but since we didn't eat there for dinner, I can't say for sure. Who Dat Bar and Grill is an outdoor, screened in restaurant located at the good times in and Marina that in my opinion serves the best food in Steinhatchee, Florida. My husband and I shared the captains platter which came with two lobster tails, fried oysters, fried shrimp, hush puppies, and the best french fries I have ever consumed in my life. Our lobster tails were soooo good and our fried seafood was perfection. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and fries and my daughter had the kids chicken fingers and fries and both were delicious. Since she is only two, she always has leftovers so I ordered a side of their homemade buffalo sauce to dip her chicken in and I have to say it is the best buffalo sauce I have ever had in my life. Our waitress, the brunette who works in the motel office as well as the restaurant, was a complete doll and provided excellent customer service. Why four stars and not five you may wonder, the night before I encountered a snotty bartender who decided to close the restaurant early. That in my book is not cool at all. Overall, I will definitely be back to both the restaurant and motel, but I will make sure to check and see what time they close at the restaurant to make sure that we are not driving around a town that has no cell phone service in search of food like we had to. read more

Someone local recommended this place so we went as a group of 13 on 06-15-2023 and sat at a long table on a screened porch. It was in the middle of an incredible thunderstorm and we were all very cold but there was no escape from the wind and mist, but we were already there so we tried to make the best of it. Service was extremely slow; I think the waiter was fairly new, and it took about 30 minutes for some of the food to come out. My fried shrimp were barely warm and the sweet potato fries were stone cold but the waitress disappeared so I just accepted it. Two of our party never got their meal and since wait staff was scarce it took another hour for their food to come out. We were pretty fed up (no, not literally) by that time but there's more; it took a while for the bills to come out, and the two of us that got fried shrimp were surprised to see that they billed us $50 each for our $18 meals. It took another 15 minutes to get someone's attention to correct this so those of us that were paid up went ahead and left, running out into the pouring rain and getting totally soaked.
