Our Prius had died on my son while he was away at college, requiring a jump start from the campus police. Expecting the aux battery was near or at the end of its life I gave O'Reilly a call because we've bought Optima yellow-top batteries for other cars from them before. (Though this one was purchased from a different car shop a few years ago.) So O'Reilly had me bring in this current battery and they ran tests on it for us. Considering it's a more expensive battery I appreciate that they wanted to make sure the problem was diagnosed properly rather than just sell us a replacement. Turns out the battery has another year or year-and-a-half of life remaining on it and our son just needs to make sure to drive the car often enough so it doesn't go dead. That said, we got the current battery fully charged and sent him away with a portable battery-powered jumper so that he doesn't need to find someone to help him if it happens again. Now he has a warning in advance for the upcoming battery replacement.

My son has helped me in the pass but he was unavailable and I was unsure of where the battery was purchased. There were 4 employees visiting when I walked in and it took me interrupting them to get some help. A very young male employee finally agreed to come check my battery, he applied the cables to determine the charge left in my battery and laughed in shock as he said is was soooo dead. pretty sure he put the cables on the wrong terminal. I followed him back in and asked if another employee could help him because I knew my battery was hard to change and he had told me he was rather new. They all went out to look at it and when they returned I had to ask for an answer. I was then informed from the mgr as he was unboxing freight that it looked like my battery was leaking battery acid (I had just gone through the car wash and cleaned my engine to get the baking soda off) He informed me that they did not have the tools to take my battery out because it might tip and get battery acid in my engine. I would have to take it elsewhere. I asked if it was their battery and they told me it was O'Reilly's. I went to O'Reillys and am happy to say I got 5 star service. My battery was not leaking and it was still under warranty. I might be older, female and blonde but I'm not ignorant to car maintenance. Autozone lost a customer that day, I will never return. The treatment I received was inexcusable. Really upset my day and caused me to have to reschedule a very important appointment.

Young has big plans for a remodel and expansion of the service area that should make this much better for the customers. We did all our research before we arrived. We wanted to by a new Ram 1500 truck and had a couple of options picked out. The sales staff was quick to meet us at the front door and start the process of test driving. We tried out a few and narrowed it down to one that we liked. My husband then took over and did all the heavy lifting with the negotiations and tap dancing that goes on when buying a car. They were friendly and fair with us when it came down to the details of the sale. From start to driving off the lot, it still took several hours, but we ended up with the truck we wanted for the price we wanted to pay. After signing on the dotted line, they gave us a tour of all their facilities and introduced us to the people we'd be working with for our service plan and parts department needs. After a few days, we received a gift in the mail of some cookies from our salesman, to say thank you for trusting him with our truck purchase.

I drove over 550 miles to purchase a used vehicle from Young Chrysler Jeep in Layton Ut. When I arrived, the vehicle was dirty, had dog hair all over it and had not even been serviced or safety checked by the dealer. When I drove it, the transmission was whining and didn't shift well. When we checked the fluid, it was very low, smelled burnt, and black. (Transmission fluid is red). After test driving the vehicle, I informed the salesman that I would not be interested in purchasing it. Here's where the real grief started. The salesman the informed that the $500 deposit I had put down was non-refundable. When I asked for a sales manager, he told me the same thing. I explained that I was never told that my deposit was non-refundable, that the vehicle was not as described, that it had major mechanical issues, and that I had just driven 550 miles in a rental car that I would have to turn around and drive an additional 550 miles to get back home. Get this: after refusing to return my deposit the sales manager had the guts to tell me that he hoped I had a positive experience - but unless the general manager approved the return of my deposit, there was nothing he could do. After waiting a day, I texted my salesman and he never had the courtesy to return my inquiry as to whether or not I would receive a refund. It was only after threatening them that they finally refunded my deposit 4 days later. These guys are untrustworthy and should be avoided.

Our car was badly damaged in a recent hail storm in August. There were over 100 hail dents on it…read moreand some of them fairly deep, as we were driving it to get home and in the garage during the storm. Our insurance company (Farmers Insurance) worked directly with Carstar, which made the whole interaction very easy. They fixed every dent with Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and did such a terrific job that it is impossible to tell that there was any damage on the car, or that any liners or panels were removed in the process. Not only was the repair job exceptional, but they washed the exterior and apparently detailed the interior during the service! Our car is the cleanest that it has been since we bought it new. The total repair (and detail) was complete in 3 business days. They started Monday morning and I got a call first thing Thursday morning that it was done... which was much faster than I had expected. J.K. dealt with us, and he was professional, straight shooting and a delight to do business with. I'm a perfectionist and hardly take my vehicles anywhere to have work on them other than tires.. but this repair was way out of my wheelhouse. I scrutinized the work done and was thrilled. It is very difficult to meet my perfectionist expectations. Carstar not only met them, but exceeded them! I would not hesitate to take my car back to them for any type of body work. While I was there, there was a car in their back lot that caught my attention... I asked J.K. if I could take a closer look. The car itself was nothing too special, but what I thought was a paint job was exceptional. J.K. quickly explained that it wasn't a paint job, but a wrap! I couldn't believe it! Even close up and touching it, I couldn't tell it was a wrap! It wasn't until J.K. opened a door to show where the wrap ended that it was evident that it was a wrap. I was astonished! I would highly recommend Carstar for any body work needs.
