This is a (relatively) newly opened Chinese skewers restaurant on Kissena Blvd not far from Main St. It's open late since skewers are considered a commonly known Chinese midnight eats/street food. The Chinese typically go to places like these in groups because for us, it's more of a social activity than dinner but it's also good if you just wanna bring a friend or a partner here (that's what I did this time). They're also currently doing a grand opening promotion where select beers are only $1!! Yes ONE DOLLAR each - which is basically wholesale pricing. Aside from your typical skewers they also offer a lot of various northern Chinese main and side dishes!! Sadly we didn't get any this time but we did order the following skewers: beef, lamb, tendon, intestine, chicken gizzard, shrimp, and squid. I personally like that they got a nice meat-to-fat ratio on the beef and lamb and it tastes better seasoned and grilled than most of the run-of-the-mill food carts all over Flushing. I'm most impressed by the price of beer and them not overcooking the seafood skewers. The shrimp was grilled perfectly and even slightly bigger than other shrimp skewers I've had. The squid was nicely seasoned and had the right amount of chewiness to it. The staff here speaks very little English, which is not a problem for me but for those who wanna try this place but afraid of language barrier, their menu is completely online, accessed by QR code, has both English and Chinese versions and you order directly on there. There's honestly not a lot of verbal interaction going on -- which is great if you're introverted. I've been here 3 times now and each time it's PACKED - a full house, even on random weekdays at the most random times too. So there might be a wait but it's worth it because of their prices and great customer service. I would recommend calling in advance. I'll be coming back often. read more
