My 2-1/2 year old laptop's computer screen went black a week before Thanksgiving and at that moment I was torn, do I get it fixed or just replace it, especially with Black Friday right around the corner. My reasonable (and frugal) side won so I opted to have it repaired. I wanted to refrain from taking it to the Geek Squad so I did a handy dandy Yelp search and found a computer repair place less than 5 minutes from me. I exchanged a couple of e-mails with Steve and then called him later the same evening (day before Thanksgiving) to drop off my laptop. He was very nice and extremely accommodating with regards to dropping the laptop off. I went home, relaxed and got a call about 1-1/2 hours later with an update. Steve had taken the time to diagnose the problem and came to the conclusion that I'd be better off getting a new laptop. My motherboard and/or CPU was fried and the cost to repair it would be just shy of some awesome brand new Black Friday laptops. These were Steve's words, not mine. He didn't try to talk me into getting it repaired and instead was upfront and honest. Because he didn't fix it, he refused to accept any money from me at all for looking into the problem. That's a testament to how much he enjoys what he does. Steve knows his stuff and will take the time to explain things to you. He's honest and won't try to nickel and dime you. I was hopeful when I saw the 5 stars on yelp, but then after dealing with the individual that answered the phone, all I can say is, why!!!! Called in and asked if they were able to help setup an IP camera at my location, and what would the price be. All the guy could tell me was 70 an hour. minimum 1 hour. I recently completely re-installed Windows 7 on my PC but had trouble with the re-install not seeing all my network adapters thus I could not connect to my WiFi at home. For the past three years we have been fighting with our router system in our 3 1/2 level home. I'm a bit overdue for this review, but If you have any computer/ laptop issues this is the place to go! I've had my Apple MacBook Pro since 2010 and used it throughout my undergrad. It stopped working around 4-5 years ago. It wouldn't turn on even after charging it. I always said I would fix it and I never did until quarantine began in LA. I had a lot of time and I was able to fix what I thought was the issue. The laptop turned on and I was able to use it. Only problem was that it was a bit slow and after two weeks the battery swelled up. I didn't want to buy a new laptop since my laptop still looked in good shape. I had never changed the battery of any laptop so I was interested in hiring a professional. I found this business on yelp and I'm glad that I reached out. Steve is professional and knowledgeable! Due to the swelling of the battery, the back case of my laptop bulged outwards. Steve fixed that too. I'm very grateful for his service and I'm glad I'll be able to have my laptop for much longer. A large part of our small business relies on computers, so when things don't work properly you can imagine how difficult it is for us. After a rather extensive Yellow Books and Google search, we found Steve who proved to be extremely helpful. He set up Office 365 as well as a remote service so our boss can access important files while not in the office. Steve started out by coming by to our office to write down what we wanted, whereupon he spent the weekend researching and coming up with options. The next business day he arrived with ideas and explained them all very well. A couple hours later everything was set up to satisfaction and we've been happy ever since.
