    Crab Rangoon
    Jayme H.

I've ordered Yoshi Yum twice now... both for delivery through whatever platform.. I'm not sure. The first time wasn't super memorable. I got a shrimp tempura roll and some spring rolls. The second time I ordered though, it was down right delicious and I know I'll be ordering from here again and again. I also have to give it up to my fellow Yelp Elite, Gwen W. She had checked in just a half hour or so before I was considering it and she confirmed with me on Yelp that it was a good decision to make. Thanks, girl!! The second time I ordered the crab rangoon and shrimp hibachi with veggies and fried rice. It literally showed up at my door within 25 minutes, which was astounding! Especially for it being a Friday around 6pm. Bravo! The portions were great and the order didn't hurt my bank account. The rangoon was crispy on the outside and creamy and pillowy on the inside. Just how I like it. The shrimp hibachi really surprised me. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the vegetables weren't too soft or too hard, the rice was flavorful... seriously it was awesome. I ate every single bite. I've never ordered hibachi to go or for delivery but this experience convinced me that I can, should, and definitely will. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu!

    Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll (08/04/2023)

Hot fresh Crab Rangoon with a good savory imitation crab and cream cheese filling (my preference). I'll say this CR is probably in my top four or five, as I'm not a huge fan of sweeter versions. I had the Crunchy Spicy Salmon Roll. Tasty roll. I like their soy sauce, too. I just had Tensuke Express the other day, and I did not like their soy sauce (it tasted vinegar based, not pleasing). S/O to Yoshi's pickled ginger, delish. I'm super excited that Yoshi can make any roll I want, too. I follow the life mantra of lots of protein and veggies, so my next stop in I'll definitely creat my own and load it up. Since Yoshi has bubble tea, I couldn't resist. I went with my go-to taro flavor (they use a powder), but got it with green tea and boba. The gentleman helping me - nice guy - mentioned that they taste a lot alike, except green tea has less caffeine (which I've never taken into factor), and it's was quite good. Dare I say I'll go with green tea from now on. Plenty of boba, great chewy flavor, and sweet taste (not overtly). I enjoyed this fast-casual sushi and poké spot a lot. The food was tasty and portions matched the price. That coupled with the friendly lady and gentleman working made lunch enjoyable.

Food, service, ambience was all top notch stuff. I am so happy to have found this place, I love how late this place is open. From out of town and this just hit the spot at 10-11 pm. The nigiri was delicious. The soy sauce was a little too thick but it wasn't bad.

I have been here a few times now, so I feel inclined to give a raving review. The service and food are impeccable. I usually just pop in here on my way home from class and the workers are so nice! Especially Anas!!

    Hibachi - steak and chicken
    Jenny Z.

I was hesitant to order after reading some of the reviews but saw a lot of opposite opinions so wanted to try it and see for myself. It came up on uber eats and it was perfect in that it had sushi and hibachi (I'm always in the mood for sushi while the husband prefers hibachi). The sushi was like the Kroger sushi section... not bad but not fresh. The salmon avocado sushi roll clearly had a price sticker on it but the delivery app was charging about $2 more for it. The sashimi was pricy too for what you got (also thin and tasted even less fresh than the salmon roll), but but I did appreciate how there were avocado slices and cucumbers as a bed under the fish. Hibachi was kind on the pricer side... $15 for a bowl with two proteins. Was disappointed that the rice looked and tasted like it was at least a day old. It was all clumped up and tasted stale. We had a discount code so price for 2 sushis + hibachi + pineapple green tea was about $32 delivered. I would have been REALLY disappointed if we didn't have the code though which would have made this delivery closer to $50. We were not full afterwards either. I'm sure it's not a bad place for campus where you can go in when you're craving some sushi, pick it out in person, and not have to pay deliver app premiums. Pineapple tea was a tasty treat and the boba were pretty fresh tasting.

    The tuna was rancid
    Kali W.

I ordered for the first time through DoorDash for a date night and the tuna was rancid. It smelled awful and has an odd texture, which was in 2 of our rolls. The Lo Mein also had an odd taste, we ended up throwing everything out to be safe. They also charged $.75 for each side sauce and we added 4, and did not receive them. It ruined our date night and they refused a refund, $80.00. I do not recommend.

    Hibachi combo (shrimp and chicken)

This new Asian fusion restaurant popped up on campus and I was so excited to try it! I have to say, I was very impressed and will be returning soon. I ordered hibachi, where you pick your base (noodles, fried rice, or white rice) and protein (chicken, shrimp, or both) and it is topped with sautéed vegetables and sauce. It was delicious, and very reasonably priced at $10.99 for the combo. They also offer a variety of sushi, rice bowls, Poké, smoothies and bubble tea. The inside was clean and decorated nicely with small booths and some table seating. Overall, delicious food and good pricing, I'll be back to try more things on the menu!

Honey Dew Milk Green Tea 16oz
    Allison K.

Stopped in after shopping on the street. Thought i'd give the honeydew milk tea a try! Wasn't as good as other bubble tea shops, but it was still fine. Wouldn't pay 5.25 again for it. Workers were very nice and friendly. The food looked good and i'd love to come back and try a bento box or some of the hibachi. Most of the meals seemed to be around $10! Cute atmosphere with some small tables you can sit at inside.

Midway through my meal, they came around to light a candle at the table, which added such an intimate touch, and gave cozy date night energy in the best way. In fact, I believe I was sitting next to a couple having their first date. 2. Plating (4.5/5) The presentation did not disappoint. Everything came out looking polished and thoughtfully arranged. The edamame stood out because they generous with the flaky salt, which I personally loved. Sometimes places hold back, but this was well seasoned. 3. Customer Service (2.5/5) This is where things started to fall apart a bit. I stood at the front for about 12 minutes before being acknowledged, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I had to make eye contact with someone in the kitchen just to be seated. Service at the table wasn't much better. It took about 15 minutes just to get my drink order taken (which I had to flag the waitress down to order), and by that time I was ready to order my whole meal. I ordered an appetizer along with a couple of sushi rolls and some sake. I'm not sure if the waitress wasn't thinking about it, but she brought my rolls out before she even brought out my appetizer or my drink. The inconsistency was noticeable and took away from the experience. 4. Overall Taste (4.5/5) The food absolutely carried! I ordered a sweet potato roll and the Hoonie Roll, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well-balanced. Paired with the edamame and sake, everything came together nicely. 5. Overall Experience (3.9/5 ) Taking everything into account, the experience lands just under a 4. The food and atmosphere were strong, but the service created a noticeable disconnect. It's definitely one of those places where you'd go back for the food, but you'd hope the service catches up next time.

The first Oishii is far off my usual routes, so I haven't gotten there though I heard it's good…read more This one opened up near campus last week, much closer to me. And after that soft opening with a regular menu, this week they introduced an all-you-can-eat menu as well. So of course I got there as soon as I could. Quite an extensive menu for AYCE too, though not as big as their standard one. And full of interesting stuff. Nigiri, raw rolls, cooked rolls, deep-fried rolls, specialty rolls, apps, ramen, hibachi, and more. I wanted to try everything, but even though I arrived hungry I just couldn't. Maybe 25 years ago I could have eaten twice as much, and when the students hear about this they will clean them out. It's just down from where Japanese Oriental Restaurant used to be, and I used to save up and pig out there with my friends. Now I eat a bit less, but I still figure I had about $60 worth of sushi for $30. I started with seaweed salad- big portion, and very tasty. Fresh and a little spicy. Then unagi- two big pieces, excellent, tender and flavorful. Then maguro- good, melt in your mouth. Next I tried their "dragon eggs"- deep fried avocado with kani and tuna. OMG. Again, a big portion (two whole avocados, halved and stuffed. Finally, two big rolls: the High Street roll with spicy tuna, and the Seashore roll with salmon, kani, and more. Wow. Big, and tasty. Best sushi in town? No, but up there. Really good. Service was great. They open at noon, at least on weekdays, and I was the first one in. The decor is cool- it's an old house, and they have made it modern but with vintage touches. The bathrooms and waiting area are super cool. There's a bar off to one side, a sushi bar in back, and lots of sleek but comfy seating. Also a huge patio and courtyard out front. Free street parking out front (except during rush hour.) Also a small lot in back. Get here. If you like sushi, or other Japanese food, you'll like it. If you like a bargain, you'll love it. $27, yes, not cheap; but for sushi it's not bad, and for AYCE sushi it is a steal. A cool place to hang out, not far from campus, and drink, and eat good food till you're stuffed.

Atmosphere was modern and soothing. You can get ramen, cooked dishes like tempura, salads, all kinds of things. There's a full bar as well, and areas with cozy or romantic seating. The design was actually pretty cool, you could eat with a group or sit up at a bar by yourself and feel very comfortable either way. The sushi menu itself includes more traditional Japanese sushi, which honestly is what I'd recommend from the AYCE menu. They even have sashimi, which is cut thinly- which is fine, if you want more you can just order more, that prevents excessive waste. Most AYCE places wouldn't offer sashimi anyway. But the traditional sushi, sashimi and rolls were the ones we liked best. The more Americanized rolls with the alternative (non-nori) wraps were not as delicious, in our opinion. We couldn't figure out what it was, whether it was the wraps or an ingredient in the chopped sushi roll fillings. But there's a ton on this menu that was good. Will eat here again. Oh and a short note on large groups- maybe this is not the spot to go with a massive group? It's more of an intimate dining experience, although they do seem to allow big groups. I only mention this because I saw a negative review about slow service for large groups before we went and then the evening we went a group of maybe 10-12 college students impatiently waited by the door to be seated, even though the servers were polite and had to wait for multiple tables to clear at the same time to push together seat such a large group in a smallish restaurant- the patrons kept coming in and trying to sit at random tables before it was their turn. If you have a massive group I'd say split into multiple tables or maybe choose a different, larger or chain restaurant, like El Vaquero or Buffalo Wild Wings? Anyway I hope they left a good tip because the workers were very professional and the group was very large and very impatient.
