Needed something quick, and close to downtown, and this worked well. Street parking, probably iffy at peak times. I've been a year or so ago, when this spot was an Indian/burger place. Still pretty small, very bright inside, redecorated and attractive. Comfy seating. Decent menu with a variety of sushi rolls and bento boxes. Nothing too far out there, all the standards. Plus a selection of ramen and a slick DIY hot water setup. I got a Lane Avenue roll and spam musubi. The roll was big and tasty. Crab, salmon, veggies, spicy mayo. Nicely plated. The musubi was also big, and very good. Also had egg on top (tamago.) I get musubi whenever I can because you don't see it very often. Minimal service at the counter, but friendly and fast. They brought the items out too. Canned and bottled drinks. I'll definitely be back, partly to explore the menu but mainly for good food fast.

I was first attracted by their lovely and cute bento box. It also come all the sizes that fit your need, which have small, regular, and the big one. Another highlight from Yes Sushi is that instant noodle cooker. They have an impressive lineup on the instant noodle package and nicely display by the cooker. You can either do it yourself or the lovely auntie is happily to help. After you select the option, hot water would be dispense and water will get boil very quickly. You just need to put the noodles and seasoning package to the bowl. Make sure to ask to add an egg to it [a must have for me on instant noodle] It will turn off once it done cooking and carry on to enjoy. Outside from the bento box and instant noodle, there is way more on their offering. Sushi, Onigiri, Inari [marinated tofu pouch stuff with rice and with topping.], Bubble Tea. Now you should understand why I ask you to be prepare yourself

I ordered this via uber eats and it did not disappoint! I wasn't super hungry but needed to eat & this was the perfect quick delivery. I ordered the special sushi combo #3. It was great and had 12 pieces of sushi so I was quite full at the end of it. I really enjoyed the sushi and it needed more sauce added. The box it came in was so perfect that my sushi came still standing. 10 out of 10

Eaten here a few times since this review- I want to add that I would say the bento/non sushi options here are tastier/better than Tensuke but the sushi at Tensuke is better. Perfect place to go if you have someone in your life (like me) who doesn't like/want sushi but you do! Also much easier to get to for me personally. Keep up the great service and still so happy that this place exists!

A great addition to the Discovery District. I feel like this pocket of town is somewhat lacking in food spots - just this very small, maybe 1-2 block stretch of Main Street; it could just be me though. There's plenty of free street parking, and I did see a few lots but didn't bother checking if they're also free since I was able to park right out front. Inside is small but efficient use of space. You can order at the counter and they also have a kiosk (I'm sure for their busy times); good thinking. We immediately went to the kiosk, no idea why as none was in line, and that was an excellent choice, as their menu board is smaller font and no pictures/descriptions. While we didn't order any ramen, a big shoutout for the board of all their ramen noodle wraps pinned up so customers can physically see/read what each contained and flavor profiles. Along with an order of pork potstickers, we got a few rolls to share: Buckeye roll, Spicy Tuna roll, and an Orange Dragon roll. The pork potstickers were decent; I thinking they're frozen numbers, but weren't bad, just nothing to write home about. Both the Buckeye and Orange Dragon I'd totally order you both again, no questions! Delicious! Both rolls were crammed full of their respected protein(s) and held together really well. I really liked the melding flavors of the Buckeye, with the mayo and (what I think was) sweet soy on top; also loved the crab salad on top with the crunchy corn flake coating. The Orange Dragon was equally delish. Loved the crab salad + spicy mayo, a great slightly sweet to salty combo; the salmon on top was bonus. Count me in for a return visit or two, as there's several things on the menu that sound intriguing (I'm looking at you poké, hibachi and bento boxes).

The sushi was incredible. Asked for "super fresh" and the fish just melted in my mouth! Best ever was the tuna belly and the salmon belly with caviar. I also loved the smoked salmon hand roll with a touch of eel sauce.

Literally so good 10/10!! The sauce on the chicken was perfect and it was so crispy. The service is great and it's very chill inside.

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

Formal Complaint: Unprofessional Management and Order Fulfillment at OSU Campus Location…read more To the Executive Team at Roots Natural Kitchen, I am writing to formally express my profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at your Ohio State University campus location on Father's Day. The lack of customer care, patience, and professionalism I encountered from the Manager on Duty was entirely unacceptable, and doesn't deserve even a half star, but I had to choose one. On Father's Day, my family ordered five bowls, two of which were seasonal bowls made with the original ingredients with the exception of extra lime. One of these bowls was specifically meant for my husband, who is currently in the hospital. I had raved to him about your restaurant, as it was one of the few healthy options he could safely enjoy during his stay. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared with a blatant lack of care. Even after it was made clear that this was a special meal for him, his portion size was equivalent to a half-bowl, and it was entirely missing the onions and tomatoes. Seeking to resolve the issue, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold. When the phone was picked up, the staff member did not offer a greeting, a name, or any indication of who was speaking. I politely stated, "Hi, I was holding for the manager," to which she abruptly replied, "This is." When I asked for her name, her response was unclear and unkind. Despite maintaining a calm and respectful tone while explaining that my husband's hospital meal for Father's Day had been made incorrectly, the manager was immediately combative and argumentative for absolutely no reason. Instead of offering a basic level of customer service or empathy, I was met with disrespect. Your company's mission proudly states: *"We strive to empower people through radical accessibility to natural food."* Unfortunately, the radical lack of care and professionalism I experienced completely contradicts that standard. Because of this deeply disappointing experience, I will no longer be a patron of your establishment. Furthermore, I will not be recommending Roots Natural Kitchen to anyone moving forward, including for any future corporate or community events I coordinate. I hope you address this leadership and service failure with your OSU campus team so that no other customer is treated this way in the future. Sincerely, Latisha Roland

We arrived fairly close to closing, which can sometimes be risky--some restaurants start cutting corners as the night winds down. Not here. The ingredients, flavors, and execution were all outstanding. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and go. I started with the Cauliflower Tahini Soup, followed by a build-your-own salad bowl, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Minty Pink Lemonade. The soup had a rich, creamy texture, though I found it a little too salty for my taste. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I loaded up my salad bowl with lentils and rice, mixed greens, hummus, baba ghanoush, crispy onions, pita bread, chicken shawarma, brisket, sweet beets, pickled cucumbers, pickled radish, pickled cabbage, cauliflower tabbouleh, marinated eggplant, and finished it with Brassica's roasted garlic sauce and tahini. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and full of contrasting textures. The combination of crisp vegetables, savory proteins, and creamy spreads made for a hearty, satisfying meal that kept me full long after lunch. The Chocolate Chip Cookie was exactly how I like it--crispy around the edges with a slightly well-done finish and plenty of chocolate in every bite. To wash it all down, the Minty Pink Lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing, complementing the bold Mediterranean flavors beautifully. Overall, Brassica is a great option for a quick, customizable meal made with fresh ingredients. While the soup wasn't my favorite, I'd happily return to build another salad and try more items from the menu.
