Everything was 10/10. Serves alcohol and very clean inside. Food came out very quickly. Food is expensive but really good and worth it.

I was a little disappointed. First off, the place is cool, love the vibe. But unfortunately, I did not like the food. I ordered the club with tots. Seems safe. First, it was a mess. The sandwich was overpacked with meat. They took the cold cuts and folded them like a stack of bills and put them between 3 slices of bread. I had to remove the middle slice of bread to be able to eat it. I guess if you can unhinge your jaw like a snake, you'll be fine. The sandwich was on sourdough, but it was flavorless. Usually, I would say more meat on the sandwich means better value. But I disagree; they could have put half as much meat and charged half as much, and it would have been plenty of food. The sandwich would easily feed 2 people, so I guess if you look at it like that, then it was worth it. But because it was a hot mess, I ended up throwing out a bunch of folded-up meat. So 20ish bucks for a sandwich and tots. Not worth it. I could have taken the leftover cold cuts home and used my own sourdough, and maybe that would have been worth it. I doubt I'll go back.

This place is a must visit when in VB! Yorkies does sandwiches the right way! Full of flavor, friendly staff, and a great vibe inside

A bit of a tardy review after checking out Yorkie's VB soon after opening Fall of 2024. After three visits I can weigh in and proudly provide a full 5 star rating. The location is on the edge of the Vibe District by the interstate 264 exit. You can see signage before the turn. They offer their own parking that seems adequate. The cinder block building exterior that was previously a commercial business looks great! The owner Kip Poole has been around the culinary block in Hampton Roads for years. It's a dream come true to finally be his own boss and open an authentic deli shop at the beach. I'm happy for him and staff to have their new home in the Vibe. The interior is open from top to bottom. Concrete floors and views of the ceiling provide a cool atmosphere. There is a small event, conference room space that closes off to the public. Another area makes you feel you're in a 70's living room. Most of the dining area is tables and chairs with a few seats at the bar to watch the sandwich making operation. Everything was spic and span. Yorkies offers grab & go sandwiches and drinks. If lucky enough you may score on their limited bottles of Gin & Juice. A deli counter is available for customers to get meats and cheese, but the variety was weak on my visits. Unique merchandise is also offered with some branded items. Restrooms are on the far left after entering. I found them spacious, clean and offered the needed supplies. Counter service was immediate friendly and helpful each visit. Hand menus and a special board will direct customers to options. They do not offer fountain soda. Everything is bottle including beer and wine. Self serve tap water with ice is available. I got three different sandwiches. BLT, cheesesteak and a chopped cheese special that were for dine in. Sides were macaroni and slaw. The large sandwiches come with a pickle spear. All baskets were delivered to the table. Although it is a fast casual set up I received a follow up from one staff and the owner himself. Out of the three my favorite was the steak and cheese special. I wanted to love the cheesesteak more, but the grease bled through the second half of the bread making it soggy. Taste was still there and their sesame seed hoagie was the bomb! The sides are good, but underwhelming in size. I think they are easing into a new business well. They're growing they're figuring things out and they're improving. I have no doubt that they will just keep getting better and better. 4.5 rounding up.

As a New Yorker who loves a good cold-cut sandwich, I was really excited to check out Yorkies Modern Deli--and it did not disappoint! From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel right at home. They were super friendly and more than willing to share their recommendations, which I always appreciate. I ended up going with the Utah, and wow--this sandwich was everything I wanted and more. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were spot on. It had just the right balance of savory goodness, and every bite left me wanting more. I also ordered their Yorkies Lager to go with it, and it was the perfect choice. Light, crisp, and refreshing, it paired perfectly with my meal. It's exactly what you want for a midday beer. The deli itself has a great vibe. I loved the open kitchen. It gives the whole place an inviting feel. They also sell a variety of items like wines and hot sauces, which is a fun touch. It's one of those spots where you can pop in for a quick bite or linger a bit and explore. I'm already planning my next visit because I need to try the Yorkie sandwich. If it's anything like the Utah, I know I'm in for a treat. Yorkies Modern Deli has definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation!

Probably one of the best sandwich places I've ever been to, not even exaggerating. Everything was delicious and the bread is insanely good. They also have a huge variety, which is why I included the menu. Plus, there's parking, a big bonus being so close to the oceanfront. It's cozy and spacious on the inside and has board games and books. Very inviting.

    Breeland sandwich

Happened upon this deli using yelp. Needed a quick sandwich while our child was at a sports event at the VA Beach Sports Center. Very inviting building from the outside, and just as fun inside. Had it not been 25 degrees we would have sat outside. I got the Breeland and my husband got the Yorkie sandwich. Excellent sandwiches. Neither of us could eat the whole thing. I love pastrami and was so happy with my choice. The flavors all blended so well. It's a messy sandwich, and the slaw makes it wet so you don't want to wait too long to eat it. The tater tots cooker in beef tallow were a perfect crunch and pretty addictive. I'm glad we don't live close or I'm sure I'd go there all the time. They had a great selection of sandwiches. Definitely worth stopping in.

    The secret menu "Bourdain"

We have been wanting to check this place out since they took over the building... and we weren't disappointed in the least!!! The parking lot is gravel-but don't let that deter you. The space is roomy-warehouse aesthetic! Lots of tables and comfy couch/chair setups. There is even a meeting/private room. I am a huge fan of Phillies and chopped cheese sandwiches-so I tried theirs... and I think I am the most blessed person on earth. My new favorite is so close to home-but even then... it's either a blessing or a curse!!! My wife ordered the "Bourdain" and it was equally as delightful - including the Bay Tots. I am sure we will be back for more... oh! And we got the Peanut Butter Chocolate Soft Serve. Don't forget the desert. It's always worth it. If you want a delightful break from the regular oceanfront fare, this is a great place to go.

    Average sub

It's a sandwich? Nothing memorable nothing special Don't waste money on the bae tots they're just a tater tot no wow flavor The ambiance is nice. Ping pong and clean. Did ask for a different sauce for my sub and the guy exclaimed that sauce is not for that sandwich ok I wanted it but he didn't deliver?? I guess you can't get it your way here Oh the sauce? Flavorless Yorkie sauce. The vinegar one is watery just fyi I don't know how to rate since I felt mesmerized to come here for something different and super tasty however I feel it's just an average sandwich which is why I am rating it a 3

    A.C.E sandwich with potato salad

This place is pretty great when it comes to looking for a casual lunch spot. The his is my second time in here and the sandwich I had was good. I enjoyed the potato salad also. I like sitting at the bar because you get to see what goes on behind the counter.

    Yorkie and cheese-steak

I had heard great things about this place and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! WOW! What a great experience! My friend and I went on a Sunny Sunday afternoon and even though it was cool the big garage doors were open and plenty of folks were sitting outside. The decor was very cute! Bright, clean, beachy and welcoming. There was a line for our orders to be taken at the counter but we thought it was really good that they had a sign up saying how long we could expect the wait to be for our order to come out. Managing expectations is always a good idea. We didn't mind the wait. Apparently perfection takes time. I ordered the Yorkie figuring the house sandwich was a good bet. My friend got the cheese-steak. The menu said sesame seed rolls which they did not have that day but we found the bread to be perfect without them. Like where can I get that bread!?! My sandwich was dripping with goodness and slightly spicy (but I'm a lightweight about spices) and big enough that half was plenty. I should have gone for the tater tots first as they were a bit soft by the time I got to them. I thought they could have been fried a little more. My friend said her cheese-steak was the best she's ever had even in Philly! We WILL be back.

Sandwiches are unique and yummy, if a bit pricey. Come in hungry because they're really big too - we had to take half of ours home because we couldn't finish and saw others do the same as well. Employees were friendly and helpful when we had questions - loved the little joke we got when our food was brought to our table. The place is a bit loud with the music and people trying to talk over it, but it's decorated so cute inside and out. Chairs were nice and comfy as well, they had both regular table seating and lounge chairs.

I don't usually write reviews like this, but what happened today deserves to be called out…read more I placed an order for 40 pounds of chicken leg quarters for a family Easter gathering--something that requires planning, coordination, and trust. Yesterday, I even called ahead to confirm hours and made it clear I would be picking up my order today. When I arrived, I was met with complete incompetence. My order was scribbled on a yellow Post-it note--already a red flag--and they had written the wrong date (Monday the 7th). Because of their mistake, they had sold out of chicken and had nothing to give me. No backup plan. No accountability. Nothing. So now, on a major holiday weekend, I'm left scrambling to replace 40 pounds of meat for my family. It gets worse. After leaving, I called and spoke with the owner. I expected at least a basic apology or some attempt to make things right. Instead, I got smug indifference. No ownership, no urgency, no concern. His "solution"? Offer me whole chickens cut into quarters at nearly THREE TIMES the price. That's not a solution--that's taking advantage of your own mistake. When I asked how something like this even happens, his response was essentially: "Well, I guess they wrote it down wrong." That was it. No apology. No effort to fix it. Just a shrug wrapped in arrogance. This wasn't a minor inconvenience--this was a complete failure in customer service, communication, and basic professionalism. If you're trusting this business with an important order, don't. They've shown exactly how little they value their customers when it actually matters. I won't be back.

Our large multi-generational family would attend church and then return home to indulge on traditional Polish foods, including smoked kielbasa (pork sausage), ham, beet horseradish, poppy seed and walnut rolls (sweets!), and bread/butter that had been molded into the shape of a lamb. This year would be different. I'd be in Virginia Beach, visiting our adult daughter -- and we'd be guests at her boyfriend's, whose parents would also be visiting. While the meal would be Italian American (their heritage), we wanted to share some traditional Polish favorites with the group. We discovered the Kielbasa Euro Deli online, and rushed on over. Upon entering, you find a small shop with aisles of mostly jarred and canned food items from Poland, some souvenir items, and freezer/refrigerated cases with pierogies (filled dumplings), farmer cheese, and other treats. At the back, there's a deli with kielbasa and other meats. As we considered one particular kielbasa, the worker in the deli area offered us a taste. Sold! We ended up finding and buying many of our traditional favorites. We missed out on the butter lamb. While the store carried them, we watched another patron buy the final one that was in stock. More would be in stock in a few days. *Kielbasa. We bought a large 2 pound link. (smaller links are also available). It was good, but our personal favorite continues to be the smoked kielbasa from Schiff's in Scranton. *Horseradish. (jarred). Excellent. Pungent. *Pierogies. We bought three frozen packets, each of which contained 12 small pierogies. (1) The potato and mushroom ones were disappointing. The potatoes were grainy, and we couldn't tell that they included mushrooms. (2) Blueberry -- as expected, but more of a dessert because of the sweetness. (3) potato and cheese -- haven't tried yet. *Poppy seed rolls. Very good, but still can't replace fresh and homemade! *(Wal)nut roll. Disappointing. More bread-y than sweet, a bit stale, and with an insufficient amount of nuts. Our final bill came to above $75. Note that, based on the labels, it appears that most of the "fresh" items are not made in Virginia Beach. Rather, they're coming from New York. I would return to this shop for Polish foods -- which are unique and time-consuming to make. It's great to have the shop in VB! Enjoy!

A little hole in the wall, but kind people and good food. It was our first time here, my dad and I,…read moreso we had a few questions about the menu. The woman at the counter was very helpful and nice, explaining things to us. He decided on a cheesesteak and I got a veggie, and we got fries to split between us. Food came to us in roughly 15 minutes. In the meantime we sat and drank our teas. He got it unsweetened, while I got the sweet. Their tea is actually quite nice, although it is sweet, it's not like super sweet, you can taste the black tea on the back of your throat at the end a little. As far as food goes, it was pretty good. I like the fact that there were different types of cheeses on the veggie, and you could choose between it being hot or cold, I got cold. The bread is squishy and soft, which can be nice, but I wanted a more sturdier bread. Next time, I'll ask for it to be toasted. I'm also a person who likes mayo and mustard on it, but instead I just had their oil and vinegar, which I didn't enjoy as much. It was a little drippy because of it, but it didn't get soggy, and didn't make too much of a mess. Their fries were really good though. Nicely seasoned, and had a good crisp to them on the outside while the inside was soft. I ate them without ketchup, but they do have some on the tables if you like them like that. My dad really enjoyed his cheesesteak, and after having a bite, I can see why. The meat is tender and flavorful, nicely shredded so it just melts in your mouth. Nothing chewy about it. One of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had, even though it was only my second time. He also thought the bread could be more sturdy, but other than that it was great! Our total for everything was a little over $20 including tip. Definitely will be back to try more sometime!
