With the new renovations, this centre is looking promising. The food court itself has decent options. The lighting, I'm not sure if it's intentional but has bright a darker areas. You could say there are also communal tables. One thing I'm not a fan of is I can't see what's in the other side of the food court from one side to another. I would like to see all my options at once. Also, it would be good if the stairs on north side from the food court would allow me to get to second level (upstairs). The shops seem to show some promise with Miniso and Dollarama. Keep adding interesting shops and food options and I could bump it up a star. read more

I am giving this Centre a 3 star. Not because they deserve it (right now), but because it appears as though there is HOPE for this becoming a good shopping centre. Friday 18th 2022 around 10:30 pm. Terrible service in parking lot. The people there have no respect or anything. He illegally told me I had to pay even though la fitness validated my parking ticket. I came in 9:19 and left 10:30 and I validated it with la fitness. The man with the accent was terrible. I'm only 17 and he treated me horribly. He kept saying to get someone to come to pay for me when I didn't even have any money on me or even a card. Absolutely horrible service. Never came across someone as horrible as him. He needs to fix up. Tried to ask for his name several times but he kept telling me "go call the police, go call the army". He should not be working there. This isn't much of an anything mall.... meaning, it's convenient to pop down to during lunch if you work in the area but it's not meant to be a shopping extravaganza. It's connected to the subway so it's easy to get to and it does have a good food court with lots of variety. There's also a Grand & Toy located here, which seems to be a rare commodity these day. This whole place basically sucks and it's even worse now. I have had so many bad experiences at this place, I just need to give up on it. A few years ago, Sheppard Centre was an alright place. When I lived at Yonge and Sheppard, there was a grocery store across the street and all the basics you would need st Sheppard Centre and it was good. Sheppard Centre is at a major subway stop, in a hugely busy area, but somehow stores keep failing here. That being the case, there are a few stores that are nice and handy. I would consider this mall for errands, now that I live away...except that the major reason for coming is gone now. Sheppard Centre used to have 1 hour of free parking, which is a huge draw. You could go and park, run in and pick up your mail, or something from Shoppers Drug Mart and be on your way. They got rid of that. Not only that, but it's $3.50 for half an hour or under! I think this is pretty pathetic for a crappy mall. "OH, but they have to pay for their excellent staff!" you say? Yeah, let me tell you about the staff that work there. First of all, you should also know that the ticket machine to pay for your parking tickets likes to break down ALL THE TIME, so you have to go to the parking garage and drive up to the ticket booth, park in the non-parking spots, block traffic and go in and pay the guys sitting around in the office...an office with TV screens of the parking garage, where our car has been broken into before...but it's not their fault. There are SIGNS that say they are not liable. Soooo...what are the TV screens for? To WATCH peoples' cars get broken into and laugh? Right, so back to the story! Before I knew what to do when the machines broke down, I went to the in-mall security/info booth to ask. The guy was behind the booth, on the phone, having a personal conversation. He saw me, but turned away and continued for ten minutes. Finally he got off the phone and made like he was coming over...only to turn away at the last second and start going through some papers. Finally I called out and said, "Excuse me?" He told me he was busy and made a point of moving towards me as slowly as possible. This isn't the only time a staff member has been rude to me before. Dogs are allowed in the subway, so I was walking through once, to the subway entrance, HOLDING my dog, in my arms and a security guard chased me down to tell me dogs are not allowed. I told him I was just heading to the subway, so he followed me there to make sure. Yeah, because I really wanted to take my dog to the dollarstore and was clearly lying. GO STOP PEOPLE FROM BREAKING INTO CARS! Bayview Village, down the street, or one subway stop over, has a Shoppers, a grocery store, a post office, a Blacks photography and clothing stores...like Sheppard Centre. It also has a Chapters with a Starbucks, an LCBO, GOOD restaurants and the people there are polite, the bathrooms nicer than mine at home AND parking is free. So basically Sheppard Centre can bite me. I'm done with them. read more

My review goes directly towards their parking policy. I found it very inhuman. Watch it if you stuck in a traffic line to put your parking cart in the machine and miss even 1 second of the time limit you have, they will charge you extra. And the person in the parking booth would tell you they cannot do anything about it. What can I say today machines have power over you. Very very bad customer service!!!! read more

Awww why does everyone have to hate on the poor Sheppard Centre? Sure, this place is hardly a "mall" along the same lines as Yorkdale or the Eaton Centre, but I have a soft spot for this middle-of-the-road pitstop...have you seen the new Dollarama on the upper level?! The Winners here is nothing really special, but it has its moments. Secretly I'm grateful that most of the clothing stores suck here. Why? I'm rarely tempted to spend money on clothes I don't need. Another benefit - the crowds here tend to congregate at the restaurants, which means fewer random strollers and agonizingly slow walkers throughout the mall. Hurray for getting to where you're going! I realize that's not really how most people operate but I might as well admit it. Along those same lines I have to admit the Sheppard Grande movie theater is a big draw for me because it's NEVER as crowded as the cinemas at Empress Walk (up the street) or Fairview Mall. The seats might be old, but I find them more comfortable than the newer ones at Fairview. This also means I can put my bags and coat on the seat beside me and I nearly always get the row to myself...yes, that is a benefit worth coming back for, believe it or not. I love the Shoppers Drug Mart here. I really do. They are open 'till midnight and have a decent selection of food, so you can pick things up on the go. I'd rather go out of my way to shop at this location because I can pick up food and other items I'd normally buy at a Shoppers. The prestigious Toronto Semi Sports Clinic is also connected to/located in this building, as is a reliable number of other services I use: post office, subway, dollar store, movie theater (which I already mentioned), and an enclosed tunnel to Extreme Fitness in the Madison Centre, which is very handy in the rain or winter weather. read more

Sheppard Centre, how do I feel about you? Sure, this place is a mall. There are stores located inside this building. If it wasn't for being in walking distance to me and having Winner's or Cineplex I probably wouldn't go as often as I do. Oh wait there is a Dollarama. I have to admit I am happy for that as this is convenient for me. Can't forget about Shoppers as well, which has pretty decent hours and it isn't insane like the one at Yonge and Finch. read more

This Mall is a landmark on its own for me, ive been through it since i moved into North York in 1995. With that said, ive seen numerous changes, and the store selection is definitely terrible, but every knows the best part of this mall is the theater and the Keg. had many memories of wandering in this mall to kill time before my movie starts because its cool to see what stores kind of randomly pop up once in a while. The Food Court is small but definitely offers a sufficient variety for what space that they have for a food court. Its also accessible to the subway if you want to avoid the cold and go see a movie. Definitely dont take Sheppard Centre for face value, its not meant to be a Yorkdale, Eaton Centre or Square one. It is what it is and its definitely Convenient for what it is. read more

They're developing the Yonge Sheppard Centre and it's taking forever but some of the food court restaurants and seating areas are open yet the security guards are making the customers feel like a criminal. Most times I do buy my lunch at the food court yet a couple of times I bring my lunch, eat quickly to do some shopping at the shops like Winners. But today one security guard was asking a gentleman who brought his own lunch and he had inquired why he needed to leave if there are no signs visible to just advise only "paying customers should occupy the food court". That was so rude and I felt embarrassed for the guy since another security also came "to assist" which created a scene for the whole food court. I've never heard of such a "rule" at any food court shopping malls so why is this "Centre" an exception without having visible signs. Security has no other job there but to make a scene? I understand now with back to school kids occupying a whole role of table when they're not eating lunch to ask them to leave BUT if someone is eating lunch leave them alone. So unethical and ruins a hard working individual who only has an hour lunch to be kicked out without even finishing his food. Now I'm not even interested in going to that food court to buy my food anymore! No point in renovating if they treat people like that! read more

I don't think this sorry excuse for a mall should be even considered a mall.. This poor mall has so much potential, but just doesn't seem to deliver. Located as a hub for both the Sheppard subway line and the Yonge line, one would think mall management would take advantage of this prime location. First of all, the stores suck! They don't have one good clothing store, unless you count Winners, which seems to sadly be the most popular store in the plaza. Secondly, the food court is lame! With so many good options out there, they have resorted to Druxy's, Mr. Sub, Pita Pit, and Burger King. The mall has a lot of potential, but the store selections just suck. Recently they opened a Boston Pizza and Spring Rolls, both poor food choices if you ask me. The only benefit to the plaza is probably the Shoppers, you can never have too many Shoppers! if you're in the area, skip this mall, it's not worth a second breath. read more

I wouldn't call this a mall. Nor would I say it's great or terrible. Unless you work or live right around it, there's really no reason to go there at all. Winners is probably the best store there. Oh and I like having Sunrise Records there as they have a Ticketmaster booth so it makes picking tickets up easy as I work in the area. read more

Today, Monday, July 2, 2012 we went to the Cineplex show to see a movie. When I asked to have my parking ticket validated I was told that the "mall does not validate tickets today" even though all the stores in the mall were closed because they were celebrating July 2nd as the holiday and not Sunday July 1st which the girl claimed was the holiday!! However they would validate parking tickets after 5:00 pm. when everything is really closed up. This is just an excuse to con people to pay appx. $15.00 parking to see a 2 hour movie. The mall owners must be really desperate for money and not doing too well financially. We left the Cineplex theatre and went to the Empress theatre instead where they did validate parking tickets!!!! I've been around this area many times in my life, for errands, courses, anything. It was a high school hangout and I'd like to think that made me very familiar with it. YET, every time I enter the Sheppard Centre, I get lost. EVERY TIME. I know I have a pretty bad sense of direction but I swear this place is a goddamn labyrinth. And I'm going to have to agree with Lynda that the stores are brutal. Everything is either a cheap luggage store or an out-of-date pharmacy, and the food options are just abysmal. The only things keeping them in business must be the Winners and the fact that there are a lot of office buildings close by, not to mention high schools. If you're hungry, there are better choices at street level, or take advantage of the subway line and head up to Finch for some great sushi places. read more

Sheppard centre food court is turning out to be one sweet spot where you can enjoy all kinds of food under one of roof. I tried Buddy burger at A&W restaurant in the food court, the service was nice and fast during lunch time with 3 counters opened and the food was served fresh and hot within 2 minutes. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Perhaps it is preparation for their addition, but for the time being this is looking more and more like a dead mall, as they are terminating most of the smaller tenants without replacing them. The empty storefronts have for-lease signs but it is not clear if they are looking for short term tenants until they tear part of this down or for long-term ones. read more

This mall is quite hideous from the outside. It was built at a time when it seemed like a good idea to make patrons either go up a set of stairs or down a set of stairs to get to a business, so there's virtually no sidewalk-level storefront here, which is a shame as it makes the building seem hulking and inaccessible. There are some good stores in here--Coles, Sunrise--but no anchor store, unless you consider Winners to be a quality place. The food court has mainly non name-brand restaurants, and I mainly go to Burger King or Caribbean Queen. I haven't had a good sub at the Mr. Sub (the bread always seems to be stale). The theatres are good and some of the other spots in here are okay. The Keg used to be here--my main reason for going--and it was a sad, sad day when they closed it, as I loved the bar there. Overall, very average, and someday this building wll be torn down and a tower will be erected in its place. read more

I find when I need to get a few things done without the confusion of a large mall the Sheppard Centre has what I need. CIBC, TD, Dollarama, Winners, Grand and Toy, Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, Payless, Bulk Store, Society, Claire's and I usually stop by the food court for lunch where there are plenty of tables. Druxy's, Burger King, Mr Sub, Mr Greek, and more. The washrooms most times are clean - it depends on the time of the day. Parking I don't worry about because I use the TTC, or call a taxi as I live at Yonge/Finch. read more

It's not really a mall. The star store here is winners. The only reason I keep going there are for the deals, home errands, etc and the food court is pretty good. You have options from a nice selection of dim sum to burger king. In addition Boston pizza and spring rolls are also locate in the building with a MacDonald across the street from the center. There used to be a movie theater which was it's biggest selling point but now that's been relocated to North York center (which has become better then Sheppard center.) However there is a convenient post office in the basement of the center next to the train stop entrance but the service there is deplorable. It's run by a family and all the employees are related to one another which was fine until I saw this little girl hardly 12 (Max) running the store while dad was on a break. That was pretty deplorable as she was barely able to communicate and could clearly not keep up with the line so hence a long delay. Aside from the illegal child labor I thought how cheap must the owner be not to hire an assistant. Really "family run" so I never do mailings there although its next to the train/subway line. read more

The mall is definitely lacking--the most of the stores aren't even worth going. The store owners are grouchy and so are the customers. The Shoppers Drug Mart and the Winners are pretty much the only two stores keeping the mall even functioning. Furthermore, they want to renovate the food court so they are driving up the rental price and this makes it even more difficult for store owners to keep their businesses open! Also, do not shop at Sheppard CentrePostal Outlet! The owner there is irritable and not suited for business and drives up the prices that a normal Canada Post would keep low! He even charged me $15 to take TWO passport photos. Ridiculous! Shop elsewhere folks, it's not worth it! read more
