A popular Chinese/ Asian plaza with lots of food options and stores. The entire plaza has many individual restaurants but also has a mall section to it as well. You can find whatever Asian cuisine you'd like, ranging from Chinese, Korean, Japanese and more. The parking situation is not the greatest here, as it's hard to find parking at any hour of the day. There's also a supermarket, Freshway, that makes the plaza more lively and busy. Go Place is also attached to this mall, a 24 hour spa where you can lounge around, eat and use their different relaxation facilities. Inside of the mall you'll find a food court with many options, some of them being the famous bbq meat stalls, dumplings, HK favourites, Thai, bubble tea and more. You can also find a range of stores like cell phone carriers, glasses stores, Chinese herbal stores, and more. There's lots to look at in this plaza with the main focus being on food. You can get food items ranging from cheap to expensive here since there's the food court or dining in at the restaurants. Many stores to check out that sell an abundance of different things. A great spot to stop by if you're visiting Markham for the first time.

This was another outing with my cousins, exposing them to more of what our great city has to offer. We ended up at the food court in First Markham Place, one of the best around. We each ordered from a different place and shared it all. First up, was BBQ Duck and Roast Pork over rice, from HKS BBQ. This included vegetables and soup. Delicious! Lunch Box provided a combo meal that included lamb, pork, noodles, rice, and soup. The portions were huge, and it all tasted great! We got a vegetarian Pad Thai from Wiangkuk Thai Food that was also very good. One of my cousins picked up a Teriyaki Chicken that was a huge portion, and also included soup. I'm not sure which vendor provided that but it was good. We also got Scallion Pancakes that were really good. Bubble Teas completed our meal! It's hard to beat the food at this place. It was a good day of eating. We all enjoyed all the food and ended up taking home leftovers. After a very filling lunch, we explored the shops. There were a lot of interesting places but we were disappointed to find several of them closed for the day.

Among the many options in the food court, I decided to try Lin's Claypot Rice. I ordered the Cantonese sausage and beef clay pot rice, which cost $12.99 plus tax. The portion size was not very big, but the price seemed reasonable. The flavor was quite ordinary, nothing extraordinary. While it was a decent meal, it didn't particularly stand out. Perhaps next time, I might explore other shops in the food court to find something more impressive.

I drop by First Markham Place (FMP) in spurts. I can't explain why. I used to bring my parents over here to shop. We'd basically go to Chinese medicine places to get various herbal remedies. We'd then hit the food court and find something yummy to snack on or actually have lunch. We like the cheap good eats here! In a nutshell, FMP is an Asian mall. However, it has businesses that aren't indoors, so it feels like a plaza. All that feels like eons ago. These days, my dad and I tend to get takeout, and we all enjoy it at their place or mine. There are two BBQ stands in the food court that do great business. They both offer yummy barbequed pork and more. I don't get food there often. Rather, my dad does and I devour the pork with the crispy skin as if it were my final days on Earth. Yummy! Within the last couple of years, I have frequented FMP more than I had expected. It started with OOMOMO, a discount Japanese store with the coolest products, from skin care, to slippers. It is deadly, but an enjoyable store to drop by, shop, and spend your hard-earned money. Lately, I have discovered Bingz Crispy Burger. The signature sandwich is my addiction. I dream of the perfectly seasoned, tender pork between two flaky, crunchy buns. I also have a thing for any wonton item on their menu, from chilli oil wontons, to wonton soup. A couple of doors down is Patisserie Gateau. Although I arrived late to fetch protein-filled buns a few Tuesdays ago, I did manage to get a slice of the tiger skin pattern swiss roll. OMG! It was the best swiss roll that I have had in a long time. I'd drop by just for my swiss roll fix. There are so many eateries that I still need to visit. It's a cool mall-plaza combo. I hope to hit FreshWay supermarket in the near future. It does get busy at FMP, especially on weekends. It's perfectly fine on weeknights when I tend to fetch takeout for dinner. Parking is free. I haven't had any issues finding parking when I'm here. (182)

Tried both of the BBQ stalls, you can't miss them. They're the two stalls with the longest lines. Lines moved fairly quickly and service was quick. BBQ portions are generous and there is plenty of seats at the food court. Nice midday pick me up.

A true Asian experience as all shops food and visitors are mostly Asians. I don't think I heard a single English word spoken during my numerous visits. Huge free parking lot, many stand alone restaurants along the perimeter in addition to their very popular food court. Got phone hardware/bill problems, all major phone companies are located in here In the mood for Thai food. One of the better known vendors are located in this food court. Like BBQ meats, 2 very popular vendors located in food court although lines very long during peak meal periods Need Chinese groceries, Freshco loaded at end of mall. You need it, they got it. That's all I got to say (mike drop!)

    A large, sprawling outdoor mall.
    Howard L.

This is a very large outdoor Asian mall that opened in 1998. It has 170 shops. It has a little more of a traditional indoor mall feel as compared to the glass and steel look and feel that Pacific Mall has and which opened just 2 years earlier. It's set up in a huge V shape and I like these massive Asian malls because I can get a lot of fitness steps in as I look around, both inside and outside, and while the wives spend all our money. As usual there is a food court with a huge number of delicious eateries. I saw at lunch time that a couple of Chinese BBQ shops had some ridiculously low priced and delicious looking meal combos and they were very popular.

It's a nice mall but the layout is not easy to memorize. Other than that, you'll find a variety of stores here along with a food court. There are also several empty units probably due to the pandemic which is closing in on 22 months so far. Parking is plenty but the recent GTA mega snow storm turned many spots into mountains of snow.

Looks can be deceiving. Looks like a strip mall from the outside, but there are many good Asian fast food restaurants within. There is always a line up for the BBQ places. The sushi is made fresh in somefast food places.

Growing up as a kid, I always came to this plaza. More specifically for its food court. Not too much has changed since then, although there has been some new food stalls I haven't tried. My favourite stall will always be the one with BBQ goods or Korean Express. The prices are very reasonable. There are many options that are under $10 if you're looking for cheap eats. There's a greater variety of cuisine at this food court: Chinese, Thai, HK, Japanese, Korean, etc. Please note that the food court is usually cash only. It does tend to be quite busy during lunch times even on weekdays (for workers lunch breaks) and it can be fairly hard to find a table during meal time. Weekends can be generously busy as well. There's usually less people in the later afternoon and evening. Parking is very challenging to find during peak hours. With consideration that this plaza has lots of restaurants outside as well so be prepared to wait for a spot when it's lunch and dinner time. Regardless, it's a great plaza to go to for a cheap meal at the food court or dine in at a restaurant.

Another day, another visit to K.S. BBQ House cause I was craving some BBQ pork over rice. I always rave about this place for being cheap in price (only $6.75 WITH tax included, for both the BBQ pork over rice and a drink) and being large in portions! I mean, look at my picture! From an aerial view, the meat completely covers the rice and veggies. The two sisters that run this place every day from morning till night, are also extremely friendly and efficient in what they do since they've been at it for decades. This place just can't be beat!

It can be mistaken for Woodside Square, which is the shopping mall at McCowan and Finch in Scarborough. I used to come here often. Gone are stores such as Roots, Danier, Michaels, and Club Monaco. These days, I shop at Winners, Staples, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Chapters, and Longo's. I like the Kelsey's Roadhouse when I feel like wings and things. There's also a Home Depot and Winco Supermarket. I haven't been to either store. One of these days, I'll give them a try. There is lots of parking. A few years ago, a number of electric charging stations were set up across from Kelsey's. Often, you'll see folks sitting in their cars, waiting for them to charge up before they take off. The Chapters no longer has a Starbucks. It's a shame because I loved grabbing a drink and casually perusing the store while sipping. If you do need your Starbucks fix, you can get it at Longo's. You can earn double the points by scanning both your Starbucks rewards and Longo's barcodes. The old Michaels store is now a Joe Fresh outlet. I still need to drop by and see what goodies I can get. It's a decent plaza. I hope that the turnovers have stopped! (473)

It's situated on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Highway 7, across the street from Markham Civic Centre. My first visit here was in grade 12. I wanted to go to my first major concert. Madonna was doing a couple of shows at SkyDome. I'm dating myself and I don't care. I needed a wristband to get my place in line, well before doing anything online was a thing. My best bet was getting one at a music store at Markham Town Square. My dad drove us up here. We lived in the Beaches. My mom wrote a letter to show my teachers that I needed to be excused from their classes. Thank goodness I was a good kid and student to swing this arrangement! In short, I got my tickets. I paid for them, even though my dad insisted on paying. I was elated. I made it back to school in time for my French class. I couldn't stop smiling. Markham Town Square will always have a special place in my heart. Little did I know that I'd become a Markhamite and visit this place regularly years later. This music store is long gone. There used to be a Chinese restaurant between the No Frills, and Town Gift & Postal Service. It has changed names over the years. It's the only store that is vacant these days. No Frills is your grocery store. I never have any problems finding what I need here. The selection is decent and I've never been disappointed shopping here. Town Gift & Postal Service is a non-descript store that you wouldn't expect to be a post office. People often hit Shoppers Drug Mart and are disappointed to learn that it doesn't have a post office. Town Gift & Postal Service is your post office. The folks who run this store are nice. It does get busy thanks to the post office part of this business. There used to be a Mr. Sub. It's gone. I was sad. I'm happy to see that a Korean eatery is about to take its place. I probably frequent these businesses the most: - Shoppers Drug Mart - Felix & Norton Cookies - McDonald's This Shoppers is convenient to get to. If I need to grab something quickly, I can here. There's lots of parking that it's rarely an issue. Felix & Norton Cookies are amazing. I love their gourmet cookies, perhaps more than I should. It's the butter that makes them so decadent. It has Pusheen products, which is a bonus. I like this McDonald's. Staff are friendly and I have yet to have anyone mess up my order. I tend to hit the drive-thru. This plaza has another drive-thru, which makes it stand out. You rarely see a couple of drive-thrus in close proximity, but you do here. The other is Scotiabank. The lane is tighter than McD's, but it works. For the longest time, the store where Canada Computers & Electronics is was vacant. It used to be a Future Shop. When it shuttered for good, it was empty for years, with a brief stint as a returning office for one of the elections. I love Canada Computers. It brings out the geeky side of me. There is a lot to look at and prices are pretty good. Next to Canada Computers is Honeymoon Dessert. It was previously a Menchie's. It's a nice addition to get your dessert fix, including really good fruit teas. I have frequented Cora's, Teriyaki Experience, and Pizza Pizza over the years. All have been at this plaza for years. I still haven't visited all businesses. Wonton Hut comes to mind. One of these days, I'll cave and place an order. This plaza has everything I need. Food. Burgers. Cookies. Computer accessories. Dessert. It suits my needs nicely. (172)

What I noticed is that there are a lot of stores selling Chinese herbs and medicine. I'd imagine that 80% of the stores that I had passed by were herbal ones. Besides the restaurant, across from it was a bookstore. It was a nice change. Before we left, we can across a chicken stand. The chicken looked weird and shredded. I made a comment about it, which made my friends laugh hard. It looked like mystery meat to me. Parking was a bit crazy on a Thursday at around 1 pm. I did manage to find a parking spot.
