    Center Court
 Promenade Mall

It's been many years since I've been to Promenade Mall, maybe as long as 35 years. I dropped in while I was in the area recently. Nothing looked familiar. I guess there have been many changes over the years, or my memory isn't as good as it used to be. There was tons of parking available and I made my way in at the Jollibee entrance. I was surprised to see so many vacant stores. Some of them were occupied but closed for business. I found my way to the center of the mall, which was very spacious and open to three levels. It was also home to many dining tables and the adjacent food court. This is where I found most of the shoppers/diners. I expected to see many more shoppers on a Friday evening at 4pm. At least the place was clean, very clean. Kudos to the maintenance staff! 3.5/5.0

I recently visited Promenade Shopping Centre because I had a Groupon for Cinnaholic. I rarely visit this mall, but it is on my route home from work. I had no problems finding parking on a Friday night. There were lots of parking spots. This mall is clean and bright. I went through the main entrance. On the left is guest services. I had no problem finding Cinnaholic, which is near the food court, but stands as its own store. There are a number of stores that I like, such as Nygard (comfy pants with four-way stretch), The Body Shop (the shower sponge made out of recycled plastic bottles is amazing), and more. The food court isn't anything to get excited over. Maybe I'll have something there for dinner someday and see how I feel. I am looking forward to Jollibee opening up. There's still a sign saying that it is coming soon. It's so vague that I have no clue when that'll be. There is a huge T&T at Promenade. It looked pretty busy. I will need to go in one of these days and see if I make it out alive. I like the pathway that is just outside the main mall entrance. It has pretty flowers and benches for tired shoppers to rest. I'll be dropping by soon. I have three more Cinnaholic Groupons to use. It'll give me a chance to get more familiar with this mall. (210)

I'd give it more but with the bus route construction, it's a nightmare to get there Will update my review after to see if anything changed. Location: In the heart of thornhill. Bathurst and center street. Parking: It's a mall in the suburbs so tonnes. Decor: Its pretty dated. Nothing much appears to have changed since it's been built but honestly, most malls are like that. Stores: So the mall seems to be kinda dead. You can go on Saturday or Sunday day and it's basically empty. But some pretty good stores are starting to go in. The gentrification of the mall is in full swin Hot draws - the imagine movie theater and T and T Staff: Generally, staff in the store are really nice no complaints. Weirdly the other shoppers are the ones who are pushy and unfriendly. It's really weird how it is. It just feels different when you go in and even parking is odd. Very aggressive parkers. Will.i be back? Probably bit it's not the mall I would choose to go to, the construction on the streets around the mall is really stressful. It's a big giant mess. I'd wait a year or two for it to be done!

A taste of the lovely, airy architecture. Beautiful!

This is a beautiful, spacious neighbourhood mall. We are lucky to have this mall - for me, it's within walking distance from my house which is perfect. The architecture of the mall is just wonderful. Lots of natural light. It looks whimsical, like a modern day storybook castle. Great gathering place. Great place for a mall walk when it's cold outside. With Nortown's, Fruit of the Land and T&T there are lots of specialty places to shop for food, too. Most of the mall caters to women's fashion and aesthetics. But there is EB games, Sport Chek, Bonkers, The Source, Dollarama and lots of other finds, too. There are two dental offices in the mall(!) and other stuff that's convenient to have, in the 3rd floor offices, like a notary public and child-focused centres. The cozy Imagjne theatres with reclining leather seats are the best value in town for movies. Hint- book online in advance and reserve seats as the large reclining chairs take up a lot of space so there aren't many in each theatre. All in all, an important community space that's been around for decades and hopefully many more.

Promenade Shopping Centre has changed so much since when I first come shopping here. I would never imagine upscale store like Coach will open up a store here! Not that I am going to pay full price for one! :) What more can you ask? - Aveda for spa products or even a treatment - T&T for grocery Shopping - Congee Wong for lunch - Aroma Expresso Bar for a little Java break - Davids Tea the only one in the surburbs - Lululemon for looking good when you burning off the food you eat! I also enjoy the openess and the emptiness of the Promenade. There are tons of skylights and windows. The natural lighting makes walking around doing nothing so much more enjoyable! One time I even did a fundraising yoga event in the hallway just outside Lululemon at 10 PM!

Fairview Mall has gone through an evolution and reimagination of the retail space. I love how they redeveloped the space where Sears used to be. The space is now converted into a mini Chinatown spot with Saint Germain bakery, bubble tea shop, Hong Kong style cafe, Thai restaurant, and a T&T Supermarket. On the top floor there's a Marshalls / Homesense big box store. I noticed the Zara store has been renovated and now occupying 2 levels. The store looks immaculate and love the modern layout and self serve checkout kiosks to make shopping faster for DIY people. I managed to do some shopping at H&M and got some great deals in the sale section. I also bought some groceries like green beans, lychee, bbq pork buns, and curry beef pastries. It's not very often you can go to regional mall and be able to buy clothes, groceries, and bakery goods. It was a pleasant experience. I look forward to the transformation of the vacant Hudson Bay space. Oh did I mention they have a Playdium arcade in the old Sportchek space beside the Cineplex theatre.

On my most recent visit to Toronto, my family and I visited the Bayview Village and had dinner at a restaurant where we made a reservation in advance. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do, and I appreciate the renovations that have been done over the years. Bayview Village is known for some great restaurants and shops. In fact, there are many different options from upscale and casual restaurants to coffee and grocery stores. My favorites include Italian food at Il Fornello to shopping at Lindt and LCBO to casual like Aroma. You can find all 19 options at https://bayviewvillage.ca/shop/dine. There are also plenty of shops from upscale shops to more casual ones. You can find all 47 retail options at https://bayviewvillage.ca/shop/retail. There are also fifteen different wellness options from dentists, hairstylists, spas, drug stores, and more (https://bayviewvillage.ca/shop/wellness) and thirteen different services from tailoring to financial planning to travel services, and more (https://bayviewvillage.ca/shop/services) There are also special events that take place (https://bayviewvillage.ca/whats-on/?events) at Bayview Village. There is plenty of free parking around the entire mall. You can read more about the Bayview Village at https://bayviewvillage.ca including a place you can sign up to be "in the know." I certainly plan to return again on my next Toronto visit!

It's pretty much been the same over the past years, same mom and pop clothing stores, with a food court. I personally really like the shop with all the pretty dresses and handsome tuxedos for kids, they are super cute and very affordable! I would go into One's Better Living to browse around for home items/decors. A little sad that they don't have a legit bubble milk tea shop inside the mall.... just coffee and tea, Real Fruit, and a Freshly Squeeze (which did not open when I went). The newest addition would be K-Food Kitchen, right next to mall entrance #2, selling a variety of kimbab and fried chicken platters!

To be brutally honest ... it's actually a personal favourite - but as something more along the lines of a Public Service Announcement, I'd rather keep the consumer's expectations in check, and maybe let them be pleasantly surprised by what this modest mall has to offer. So. This is definitely a neighbourhood mall as opposed to a Destination Mall like Yorkdale or Square One. You have your No Frills supermarket; your Canadian Tire all purpose goods store; your Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy; and your Hudson's Bay department store, forming the cornerstones. Add to that, some solid amenities like a Fit for Less gym; a full service Pickle Barrel restaurant for your sit down meal and beverage needs; a Dollarama for your dollar store purchases; a full food court with many food outlets to choose from; and plenty of clothing, jewellery, and many more specialty shops to cover most items you might need. The washrooms used to be a dingy affair down in the basement but have been relocated and upgraded to the main floor. Nice improvement! You can also choose from a Tim Hortons takeaway counter, an open area Timothy's, a private company coffee counter, and a pretty nice self contained cafe called Dolce Camerata with its own outdoor patio space for plenty of cuppa Joe and snacks options. One of few remaining Ardene outlet stores is also still here. There are a lot of one-of type clothing stores with tons of low cost items, and a couple of shoe stores. There aren't a lot of chain stores, especially in the toiletries department so don't look in vain if you're hunting for Body Shop or Bath & Body Works items. In fact, you will find very few chain stores here, which is where it will likely fail the more demanding consumer. Great for every day needs. Beware the mall parking, which for some reason is inexplicably difficult to access and navigate in spite of a decent volume of parking spaces. Just don't expect to be wowed, and maybe you'll find a few unexpected, little surprises.

It has changed quite a bit since I was an undergraduate student, but feels the same. Although shops have come and gone, the York University Bookstore remains a staple. It was unfortunately closed when I was there for CRAM learning sessions at night. I like that there is a decent Shoppers Drug Mart now. I often had to visit one off-campus to get munchies, cold medication, and frankly hang out because everything was closed after my night classes had ended. At 10:30 pm, Second Cup and a few eateries were still alive and kicking. After admiring all the York University-branded sweatshirts, t-shirts, water bottles, and more, I need to come back and get something. I don't have much gear as an alumna! There is a decent parking lot on Vanier Lane where you can park your car. It's $8 if you park after 6 pm on weeknights and is good until 6 am the following day. It's cheaper on weekend with flat rates. You pay at one of the most sophisticated parking machines I have ever used. It accepts coins, credit and debit cards, bank cards, and YU-Card if you are a student. Yes! I used my bank card and the transaction was seamless. There is a walkway between this parking lot and York Lanes. The parking lot ismonitored, which is positive and reassuring. I had no problems here, as I spent nearly four hours on campus. I will return to get my York U. gear. It felt the same being here, even with the change in stores and look. (123)
