The mall is finally open! This is a really nice mall that is quite spacious to walk through and is very clean. We were quite impressed with the mall setting up a food truck festival just located on the north east parking lot. What a great idea! There were about 12 food trucks with amazing choices of food. Here is the list of items we tried: 1) Tut's - Egyptian food - we got the combo which includes 2 sandwiches and 1 side and drink for $11.50. Great deal! You must try their Ferakh sandwich (grilled chicken)...so good! 2) Golden - Korean food - we got the Bulgogi poutine - this was amazing as well. 3) La Novela - Latin food - we got the baja fish taco which was perfectly done. A little pricey...3 tacos for $16 Overall, all the food was amazing. We will definitely be back very soon for both the shopping and street food! read more

I was going through my old review which mentioned Zellers / Target. It's about time for an updated review! Target got replaced by Marshalls / Home sense long time ago. Great place for sweet deals on brand names. Malls is renovated and is better than ever. Plenty of amazing new stores. Lots of options at the food court and even better options if you check out food trucks. read more

The mall has gone through months of construction and is now upgraded; you Hudson's Bay, Indigo, HomeSense & Marshalls, Sporting Life, Sportchek, H&M, Aritzia, Aldo, Gap, Lulu Lemon, Guess, Old Navy, Reitmans, RW & CO., Pandora, Sephora, Shoppers, etc. The food court is rather small, but it has got most of the stuff you need; Jimmy the Greek, Subway, A&W, etc. You also can find a TD and BMO branch here, just in case you ran out of money, lol. The mall is well-maintained and clean and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. There are lots of parking spots available, too. read more

Oh c'mon guys, Hillcrest is worth more than 3 stars on average now...isn't it? I have so many fond memories of Hillcrest as a child. Despite its small size and lack of (good) quality stores, it's the perfect place for a last minute gift, returning merchandise from downtown, or grabbing lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. In recent years Hillcrest switched ownership from Cadillac Fairview to Oxford and went from being on its deathbed to really up and coming! I saw many stores shut their doors for lack of sales at Hillcrest...the interior was looking old...it just wasn't what it used to be. Fast forward to today, there's 2 new wings opened, many renovations, 3 new anchor tenants AND a Chatime! Hillcrest has great names now like Sephora, The Bay, Browns Shoes, Sportinglife, Aritzia and now a Marshall's too. There's still a few spots left for more stores which I am sure they will be adding in the next few months. What do they need? Maybe a "Concept" area like Yorkdale. And perhaps a few higher end stores like Club Monaco and COS. I'm intrigued to see what will happen to Hillcrest in the coming years! #HillcrestGlowUp read more

I am sitting outside the area Starbucks and enjoying myself sipping a beverage while listening to RnB at this amazing Mall in Richmond Hill; A cornerstone establishment in the City known for its jam-packed Food Court and Valleys, a term used to describe its long halls with array of stores and corridors to services. I would be looking forward to sidewalk sales and more of a welcome with pamphlets with new store inductees...otherwise a very good re-newal! read more

Spacious and not so cramped. Great for walking exercises. Decent food court with great choices of food from sandwiches, salads, mains, snacks. Good apparel choices and with one of the largest Indigo and Sporting Life stores. Ample open parking. read more

Hillcrest has changed a lot over the years, upgrading from a mediocre mall to one that has some nice stops to make. Some of these include a Chatime (and Bakecode), Real Fruit, Sporting Life, Starbucks (two of them!), H&M, Marshalls/Winners, and Indigo to name a few. The food court is small, but their selection is pretty decent I find. I personally opt for Jimmy the Greek, A&W, and/or Subway but another popular choice is their newly opened Tim Hortons as well. I really appreciate the new seating within the food court, as all the tables and chairs are new and there's a lot more room than before! Makes the dining experience more enjoyable. Parking is also easy enough to find, as they have sufficient spots for the size of the mall. Overall, it's a nice place to spot to walk off your belly after dinner and/or take a stroll with family/friends as it's quite spacious (hence good for strollers). read more

This mall is located at Yonge and 16th avenue in Richmond Hill, Ontario - just north of Toronto and used to be a very small tiny mall. In the last couple of years, the mall has really expanded, from their H&M to Hudson's Bay being completely renovated. There's also a shoppers inside the mall, a GoodLife fitness, Sporting Life, SportChek, and more! During this holiday season, there is a Santa Claus in the mall, check for hours of operation. I love the Roots in here but I noticed recently the Hallmark is gone and has turned into a Japanese store. Entrances also have automatic doors which are very nice. Markville Mall, for example, still has yet to renovate and get automatic doors everywhere. Overall 4/5 read more

I don't mind Hillcrest Mall. It is a smaller mall that has the stores that I need to visit. I am often there for Teavana, Body Shop, the Bay (known as Hudson's Bay these days), Showcase, Purdy's, and Bourbon Street Grill. Sephora recently opened. I love it! It's nice to visit a smaller mall. You can access the stores faster without consulting a directory map and attempting to decipher it. Folks are always friendly to me. The salesperson at Reitman's helped me look for my exact size in the sales rack at the back of the store! The mall had plenty of places to sit down if you've done a ton of shopping. It also offers free wifi. There are tons of renovations happening. It was a bit confusing getting around the parking lot, as the lines seem to change monthly. However, I will continue visiting this mall and will likely increase my star rating once David's Tea is open. Think positive, folks! read more

3.5 stars which could easily be bumped up to top of it's class if not for one major on going annoyance. To clarify I mean relative to other neighborhood-type malls on the smaller scale of the 80's & 90's. I think there's still a place for a compact mall that's comforting rather than overwhelming, with an easy layout which doesn't take two hours to walk and is not overloaded with pretentious high priced bling stores & designer boutiques. Hillcrest achieves a really good balance of stores in a compact space. In terms of stores it's pretty standard, the only discovery is the new MINISO discount store which has interesting potential. What does stand out is that many of the older stores are worked by experienced & knowledgeable long-time staff who have ties to the mall and community which comes across in their helpfulness and personal interest in the service. Food court is a bit of a weakness. The mall information ladies are really top notch and the security are very friendly & approachable. Mall staff can be seen assisting special needs customers or escorting them to their bus/taxi at night or in bad weather. They get a lot of the hospitality things right. The mall is also open 10-6 on most holidays except Xmas Day & Labor Day. The problem? For the 4th consecutive year, the people who run the place have seen fit to begin major construction & renovation projects in the middle of the holiday season encompassing Black Friday and Boxing Week. Parking reductions & detours, closed entrances, no washrooms, dust inside and out, not knowing form week to week which stores are still open and which aren't ... on what planet is retail doing so great that a mall can deliver such blows to visitors & tenants alike during the peak shopping season?? Other than this bizarre annual barrier to Christmas shopping, Hillcrest has a lot of positives. This is not a "destination" mall to come a long way for, but it's an asset for local residents and those who work or pass by the area on a regular basis. I also suggest the eternally empty space of the long-gone Zellers & Target could have a corridor opened up to provide an extra entry/exit point, enable use of the existing Washrooms, and maybe host pop-up shops, kiosks or even local arts & crafts while awaiting an eventual tenant. read more

Hillcrest Mall is a little boring.... but there is nothing really in the area that can be consider as a "Mall", the closest one to the West is Promenade and to the East is Markville. Clean enough... I usually end up never buy anything here?! It maybe a good if I want to save money, just want to walk around and exercise a little on a cold winter day. York Region Police also has a community outreach and vehicle accident reporting facilities in the mall, which I would rather not utilize. There is a Panera Bread in the Parking lot which I visit quite a bit to meet up with my friend. Plenty of Parking!! Bring your car! read more

I like this mall. Oxford Properties is upping the game with this place. There have been renovations and it looks nice. Cool stores are moving in. Sephora, H&M, bake code, chat time, a fab new renovated bay. Etc. The absolutely best thing about this mall - There's a Canada blood services centre so you can literally save a life by going to the mall (Then buy yourself a treat!!) With the new expansion that goes hand in hand with the new Hudson's Bay Store, this second rate mall has slowly transformed into a contender. Sporting Life and H&M have new stores in the south wing. It's a gorgeous reno. For those of you who reviewed years ago - go and check it out. I picked up a new Ski Jacket for the little one over the weekend. With the influx of new money into the area and Richmond Hill being one of the most sought out housing areas, I guess mall operators are trying to get people to spend local. Most of us RH-ers usually end up at Yorkdale or elsewhere...maybe not in the near future. read more

So this place was 'bad'..now it's just ea wreck! You sometimes keep going to a place because it's conveniently close to you or for whatever reason, but you always hope that one day it will get better, nope! It keeps getting worse time after time, more stores shutting down, constant and ongoing useless renovations.. This mall does not look inviting at all, and all employees working there gives you the vibe that they don't want to be there! Just within this last year, more stores closed down than new ones that have opened! They brought in H&M and Starbucks as an attempt to make things better, which probably did, but not enough! Instead of Target, they are bringing in Winners! Where they could've brought Zara for example, or other big retailers to attract traffic! Currently, they are doing some major demolition inside the mall, you basically walk through tapes and lines and step on concrete inside the mall going between stores! go check it out! read more

I have to say Hillcrest Mall has been doing so much better than in the past few years. It is a smaller shopping mall and maybe still a little dated but it has some unique retail/clothing stores that other popular shopping malls do not have. Most importantly, with The Bay's total new look, the continuous new addition of popular and higher-end retail stores, and a brighter lighting fixture, I can tell Oxford Properties is doing a very positive job to transform Hillcrest to a much better shopping mall in the neighbourhood. The mall was doing very well during the past Christmas by bringing in the charity-based wrapping service. I am certain I will spend more and more time doing my shopping there in the coming future. It carries basically most of the retail stores I usually shop at. I also love that it brings in Sephora, Teavana, David's Tea and Chattime/Bake Code there. Besides, it provides free wifi as well. It might be a 2-star shopping mall in the old day. To be fair, it deserves more than 3 stars. read more

I used to enjoy coming to Hillcrest mall, but today it has proved to be the lowest of low - quality wise. My dad asked for a 6" sub but they lacked the sense to listen and gave him a 12". And at Thai express I asked for a chicken and beef pad thai to go but they gave it to me in a plate. 2 restaurants in 1 location... Coincidence... I think not. On top of that Thai express couldn't even cook the tofu properly. Hillcrest can only be #1 on the"ALLTIME WORST MALL" list. read more

This mall is making a strong comeback...they have renovated and added a bunch of stores and bringing in more traffic. But it doesn't stop there because they are completely moving stores around and adding more to the mall. Hillcrest is no longer a shopping centre that no one goes too but an actual mall with potential. All the employees work really hard to keep the mall clean and presentable. I just hope they change up the food court too because that spot of the mall is super gloomy. I can't wait to see what Oxford Properties has planned for Hillcrest cause god knows I need me a mall close by instead of having to travel all over town. read more

Visiting this mall more often now. Newly added stores are slowly bringing this mall back to life. I love the huge Hudson Bay, Sporting Life, Miniso, and Roots store. Close to home and has your essential shops...Marshall's, shoppers...probably one of the best around, the bay...a decent food court.. a brand new indigo and a shoppers. The food court is generally filled with old guys that hog tables and chairs yet don't buy anything. It's quick to get in and out of if you know what you're looking for. I have lived near this mall for a large chunk of my life, and it is probably the 2nd runner up for *worst mall ever* after Centerpoint at Yonge/Steeles. The mall has been under construction for a while, and I can't wait till it is completed. Over the last few years, they have finally added some stores that appeal to younger generations. For a very long time, I recall only seeing seniors speed walking laps around the mall, now with stores such as Sephora, Marciano, M for Mendocino there, as well as Sporting life and H&M coming soon - the dynamic is slowly shifting. The mall has come a long way but still has much further to go in my opinion. The food court could use some attention, where are the healthy options, you know for people who care about what they eat (but are hungry enough to buy mall food lol) ? Tired of seeing Subway, A&W, Manchu Wok type places in malls. I come to this mall mostly for 2 reasons - Aldo ( you know, always free shipping when you ship to store) and to buy vitamins & supplements from S&H. I've lived in Richmond Hill long enough to remember when Hillcrest was even more ghetto than it currently is - ya THAT long ago! That's not to say that there hasn't been some improvements over the years but let's just call a spade a spade, this is the last place anyone wants to come shopping given the other options in York Region. I mean you know a mall is bad when teenagers aren't even darkening it's entrances with their obnoxious noises, odors and awkward smoking habits. And you know, aesthetically it's not an ugly mall, it's open, lots of room, clean... it's just so damn boring. It's so typical, plain, ordinary, etc that you can basically guess which stores are there without ever stepping foot in there. As for anchor stores, they have Sport Chek, the recently opened Target and not one but TWO Bay stores. No one else wants to put their flag in here. The food court was redone years ago but even that is relatively standard in it's offerings. The entire mall is in a figure-8 shape and on a good day you can walk the entire thing in 10 minutes end to end and back again. On a plus side, there is NEVER a shortage of parking (mostly because no one really goes here). It's a huge wasted swatch of land in the midst of Richmond Hill that would be better used to build up the city. I should have more hometown pride... but I don't, I've never once said "Oh you know where you can probably find that...." and then said Hillcrest Mall, it's too embarassing. read more

Ok I feel like I should add a star or two because of their nursing facilities and the additional services they offer. So no change on the store variety, but I have to admit their nursing facilities are really great. A quiet and spacious nursing room with two glider chairs; along with a microwave and it doesn't smell like a washroom; also there are signs saying that diaper kits and bottle warming services are available at Guest Services; which is just that little bit of extra that the other malls don't offer. I love the Baby Gap here, the sale section is great, mostly because it is rarely picked clean and I can find some pretty good pieces for my little one. Mall traffic isn't too heavy, which makes it a great place to walk around with baby. ------------------------------------------ Hillcrest isn't a bad mall for a local area and you're just looking to get a quick thing here or there. There are a few things I like about it - usually the parking is pretty good, as in lots of it and you don't have to worry about fighting it out. The stores are ok - a decent mix - but I wouldn't say terribly fabulous as they have mostly mid-range stores. Not that many high end one and the anchor stores are the standard garden variety - like HBC and Sport check. They are in the midst of adding Sporting Life, but it won't be for a while until it opens. The stores I tend to frequent here are the Chatime, Kernals Popcorn and the Bulk Barn; along with the Baby Gap. Other than that I usually go else where. The main reason why Hillcrest is an ok mall, rather than a good mall is that it's pretty dark in there and thus not the best place to go shop, etc. read more

This mall is probably one of the worse ones I've been to. Its stores are alright, I like most of them. Recently just last week Sporting Life had their grand opening and that literalli put the life back onto this mall. The Hudsons Bay recently just got a major renovation too, its now more modern and carries all the lines the Yorkdale location does. They've also inserted an H&M and Sephora in there as well. I'm pretty upset still that they closed the boathouse outlet. The only downfall to this mall is the food court reeks balls. It has very limited seating. Now they have expanded and brought some higher end stores they HAVE to update the food court, this one just isn't going to cut it. Also there is also limited seating due to the population of elderly Europeans taking up at least 15-20 seats during morning till someone at home tells them dinner is ready lol. read more

Renovations and new additions are really helping. Love having Sport Chek, Indigo, Mark's, Old Navy and H&M so close to home. It's a neighbourhood Mall that serves it's local community well. Not as packed as Vaughan, Yorkdale, Eaton Center or Markville tend to be. We'll go grab a pretzel and get some steps now in the winter just to get out. Looking forward to seeing Tim's open in the food court. Needs a main bathroom in the newest end. read more

Hillcrest Mall has always been a pleasant mall to shop in. I write this review in particular to highlight the amazing warmth and assistance extended to my Dad and me on Thursday, August 28, 2019. My Dad and I were walking at the Mall and wished to have the bars raised to a higher level. I did not have any tools with me and walking just ahead of us was a gentleman. I asked him if he worked for the mall and he confirmed as such. His name is Andrew Clarke. I asked him for assistance with the walker and he immediately came knelt down and fixed the issue within 5 minutes. He was extremely pleasant, very helpful and so very kind. I write this review so his manager and seniors will recognize the kindness extended to my Dad and me. Well done Andrew and May God Almighty bless you always. read more

The Oxford property management has done a great job modernizing this mall. It's a small, only 1 floor as opposed to other malls carrying 2 floors of shopping, but still has a lot to offer like Hudson's Bay (I liked when it was called The Bay better), Bulk Barn, BMO, Tip Top Tailors, Bulk Barn, Teavana, Sportchek, Second Cup, etc. Hillcrest has a Teavana, yet Scarborough Town Centre doesn't. How is this possible?? Food court is a bit overpriced, low selection of food, but I've always preferred going out to local places for food. For sports fanatics like me, head over to All Star Sports by the food court, very neat store for sports posters and paintings for very decent price. The leather seats in by the clean washrooms, holy geez I didn't want to get up. So comfy! read more

Well I am embarrassed to say this but I have been to this mall hundreds of times. Why you ask? Well, I lived only a four minute walk away from this mall for years. I have seen this mall go through many, many changes over the years. Remember when Hillcrest used to have a movie theater in the basement? Well, I do. Oxford is doing an excellent job slowly transforming Hillcrest into a more modern, fashion oriented mall. For a small mall Hillcrest has a lot to offer. It is always clean, secure (security guards always walking around), and has excellent customer service. Have you sat on those chairs in Hillcrest? They are wonderful. My god, those couches are so comfortable. Final rating: I give Hillcrest four stars for being my childhood hangout place, the place where I got my first kiss, and the first place I practiced driving when I was 16. Unfortunately the stores are lacking in variety. RIP Zellers. read more

I don't really care for this mall but they just opened up a Sephora in September and I'm so thrilled about it! I went in on a Friday and it was a beautiful sight, basically empty! Any Sephora shoppers know that this is not a normal thing. The girl who helped me was amazing. She walked me through exactly what I was looking for and even gave me a mini eyeshadow makeover. I will always come to this location from now on because it's not a shit show like Eaton Centre, Yorkdale or Fairview. Best discovery yet! The rest of the mall is meh....they have a Roots outlet or "fake roots" as I call it :P....and a Manchu Wok..and a jewelry store that sells Pandora, and an American Eagle I think? Can't go wrong if you're in the area and need some things. The new Bay looks nice too but I haven't been in. And there's a Panera just outside the mall :) mmmm That is all. read more

Every child who grew up in Richmond Hill knows about Hillcrest Mall, located just at Yonge & 16th and we know it's not the best mall out there, as there is Markville, Promenade, or Vaughan Mills which is a lot bigger and has more stores. I really only come only if I need to grab something quickly and it's on the way, but I wouldn't say it's best to shop for leisure if you really want to go shopping. It's the place I go to for errands, such as if I need to obtain a police check from the department there (only valid if you live in York Region) or need to go to the collision centre (let's hope that does not happen often!) Across Hillcrest Mall, there is Mastermind and Swiss Chalet which i go to at times to meet up with friends. Of course, I could write a whole other review about those places. There's a lot of older people who walk around the mall which is great for them as they are getting exercise and the mall is probably close by as there are apartments nearby. There is construction and renovations going on so hopefully it'll be better when they're done. Maybe I can write a review update then. read more

I only come to this mall when I'm in the area and I remember it back before it renovated. I think it is still in the process of renovation and it clearly shows. Parts of this mall is dingy while other parts are well lit. I found all the stores in this mall to have employees who just did not seem know how to do their job. The washroom situation was a gross one. Men's washroom out of service so my boyfriend had to go looking for another one which was located all the way in the bay. Like what?!! The ladies washroom had 2 stalls and were not clean at all. They are trying to renovate and bring in bigger more expensive stores but the atmosphere in this mall was all a meh. One of the best things here though is the parking. Ample amount of it even on a saturday. read more

I understand that Hillcrest is taking Covid restrictions and precautions seriously. Unfortunately, with that, they have had to take away much of their food court seating. They have always had issues with people hogging tables in the food court and socializing, or working for hours on a laptop. Paying customers of the food court have nowhere to sit. I went on a Saturday two weeks ago, and bought food and could not eat it in the food court, because of this. Perhaps the mall should be mindful of this. Hurts the customers and the food businesses, as well. read more

HIllcrest mall is in a location that makes sense. I feel like it exists only because there is no other mall in Richmond Hill. Although it isn't the prettiest mall, I do find myself coming here now and then. There is a variety of stores and food court choices. There's also a Zellers (which I assume will become a Target one day), The Bay, Sports Chek, TD Canada Trust and a Dove Spa. In general it's a one level, easy to walk mall with tons of parking space. Nothing too special but I'm glad it's there. read more

This is a small one story that is going through renovations in an attempt to bring it up to datge. Honestly, this mall just doesn't do it for me. It has your typical franchise stores and a very lame food court and that is about it. It would be nice to have have some more novelty stores or perhaps even a hip sit down restaurant. Bathrooms here are always a disaster. There is nothing worse than going to a urinal that is always overflowing or another one where there is constantly urine on the floor. It looks like Oxford Property management is making an effort on this place but right now this place is a hang out for retired people. (Yes they actually bus them in here) Hopefully the new stores and renos will help this mall but don't hold your breath. read more

The mall is much quieter than any other mall. When I first moved to Richmond Hill 16 yrs ago, it was the first mall I saw with nice sofas to sit on when you are tired going around the mall. I don't see any kids loitering around. They just opened a Starbucks with indoor and outdoor sitting areas which is a plus. The food court needs to be renovated, its outdated and there is not much selection of food. read more
