I had difficulty with the parking at this mall because I was unaware that there was underground parking. Pro tip to anyone that there's lot of space in underground parking and also a plus in the summer as you don't have to get back to a hot car. Anyways, the mall has different offerings, the food court has barely any spots to eat in especially during the COVID season. The prices I find are still expensive. It was a nice place to explore. However, it is also connected to a Walmart and the washroom needs a lot of cleanup. I recommend the washroom in the mall as they have the UV light hand dryer; it was really cool to see that. I also managed to buy something from blue notes and reitmans in the mall. Also I had lunch at KFC. Overall nice place to look around in. May not have the best deals though.

A no frills mall packed during the lunch hour with students and the elderly. Decent size food court if you decide to take a break from shopping. Don't let the front entrance fool you, once you enter, this is a rather large mall involving plenty of walking distance. Watch out for the elderly racing in their motorized carts. Another older lady was apparently screaming at no one in particular while I was enjoying my poutinue in the food court. If the elderly don't scare you, then you'll enjoy this mall

I wouldn't say this is a mall you would want to have a shopping spree at because the stores in here are really basic and limited. It's got Forever21, Gap, Footlocker, Tommy Hilfiger...etc. And larger department/grocery stores like Winners, Marshalls, Walmart, No Frills...etc. This mall is more of a after school, after work hang out spot when you have nothing to do and just wanna chill with friends. They have a large food court with some of the basic food court restaurants, Tim Hortons, Starbucks...etc. And a Swiss Chalet. Overall, it's a good mall in the neighbourhood for your basic needs, but nothing fancy and big like some other malls in Toronto.

good to have near if you live in the vicinity for that walmart or bath and body works essential you need. other than that it has gotten somewhat better through last few yrs when they added some stuf like f21 now bankrupt, ae, starbucks, bbw, tbs, bigger h&m and even lcbo. just a better variant of a neighbourhood mall which you can't have great expectations of anyway. better for it to be there than not. also food court has been refreshed and has quite a few decent options, I like it better than the Urban Eatery or the Yorkdale/Sherway ones tbh. it will continue to change with new condos being built on the site of the demolished school.

This place is a warp zone from a super Mario brothers video game, it attracts all kinds of koopa troopa looking people and it's share of spiny turtle shell looking mutants. But the mall "with it all" as the old saying goes well...really does. If you can get by the parked police cars at the entrance, onion stench coming from the cell phone case kiosk and children running and screaming in the opposite direction then you are bound to find NoFrills. It's at the back next to the Swiss Chalet. Yes, The Swiss Chalet that always seems to be filled with actors you'd see in a Swiss chalet commercial.. that one. Pretty sure anyone that goes here will pay with a gift card... I love "The Duff" and you will too, just make sure you find a seat before buying food in the cafeteria. Those empty tables go fast and YOU SHOULD TOO!, Hanging out in the mall longer then 30 minutes can cause drowsiness. (FYI: I'm not a doctor) Enjoy the Duff : )

    Every stall looks like this.

This bank has offices scattered throughout the downtown core. We occupied the ninth floor. I loved the location. I'd take the GO train from Markham down to Union Station, and take the PATH briefly to Brookfield Place. There are a bunch of elevators that don't all go up to the same floors. You need to find the floor interval that suits where you want to go. If you are a visitor, Brookfield Place is beautiful. I remember taking a couple of Swedish colleagues to a Toronto Maple Leafs game and we passed by my old workplace. The Hockey Hall of Fame is located in Brookfield Place. I suggested that they go, as they were huge hockey fans like I am. They went the following day and absolutely loved it. My love for Starbucks is due to working at Brookfield Place. I'd drop downstairs to get a drink and take a breather. It's convenient to do a bit of shopping or grab a bite to eat. There's a food court where there are many fast food eateries. I'm sure they have changed since I was last there. There is also a Longo's Market. I'd often get cubed fruit, such as watermelon and cantaloupe, that was easy to eat at my desk to keep me content throughout the afternoon. There used to be a Marche, where you can choose from sandwiches and hot meals. I don't think it's there anymore, but it was awesome. The top floor is where you get to see the high glass ceiling and gorgeous architecture. I didn't appreciate it when I worked here because it was a fairly crazy time in my life working full-time and doing a master's degree part-time. However, when I have returned as a visitor, be it during Nuit Blanche or when I'm heading to Scotiabank Arena, I appreciate how beautiful the crystal cathedral of commerce is. My favourite memory will always be lining up with a few colleagues to get a free heart rate monitor on the first floor of Brookfield Place. We enjoyed missing a bit of work, chatting with one other, and getting a health gift in return. I gave mine to my parents and they still use it to this day. I miss Brookfield Place and the various giveaways that take place. I don't miss the job that I had or the stress that I had experienced. Luckily, I do get to drop by whenever I'm attending a concert. On the top floor there's a Marshalls / Homesense big box store. I noticed the Zara store has been renovated and now occupying 2 levels. The store looks immaculate and love the modern layout and self serve checkout kiosks to make shopping faster for DIY people. I managed to do some shopping at H&M and got some great deals in the sale section. I also bought some groceries like green beans, lychee, bbq pork buns, and curry beef pastries. It's not very often you can go to regional mall and be able to buy clothes, groceries, and bakery goods. It was a pleasant experience. They now have zones called neighbourhoods. The newest neighbourhood is called Union Market, which opened 2023-05-09. This neighbourhood is made up of many stalls with many different vendors. Every stall is very modern. There are a few permanent vendors and 2 pop-ups on opening day. A few other vendors will open soon. There are a few lounging stalls with tables and chairs. There is even a sub-neighbourhood called Union Fresh Market! Union Market is not easy to find because it is tucked away when coming from the Union Station Subway Station. I had to ask some other vendors to point the way for me. There is "The PATH" that runs through the middle. The current stalls are south of The PATH. The stalls north of The PATH will open Sep 2023. It seems obvious to me I haven't explored Union Station since at least 2018 since I didn't know they extended The PATH into Union Station! The current vendors are: - The Alley - Patties Express - Chocollata Gourmet Brigadeiros - My Olive - Lena's Floral Design - Manotas Organics (not open yet) - Gemlet (pop-up) - Virtue Vintage (pop-up) I spoke to the staff/owners at each stall except for The Alley because they were constantly busy while I was there 16:15 to 19:30. I'm excited for Union Station. They made a modern Union Food Court many years ago, then they opened the Union Foodie Aisle in 2022, and now Union Market in.2023. The place is wheelchair accessible. There are washrooms nearby but not in Union Market. There is very little paid neighbourhood street parking, but there are paid parking lots. Review 2023-127

In a nutshell, the PATH is an underground walkway in downtown Toronto that has stores, restaurants, and more. It is handy if you live or work downtown, and the weather isn't stellar outside. This network of walkways seems rather vast. It's best to consult a map to get you from place to place, especially if you are new to it or the city. My experience using the PATH came when I worked downtown. I used to work for a bank and some of my meetings required moving between Brookfield Place and Commerce Court. You could walk outdoors on Bay Street when it was warm and nice outside. However, during the winter months, I preferred walking between the two building through the PATH. I loved looking at all the stores and eyed where I'd go shopping on my next lunch break while trying warm. When I was fairly new to my job, I didn't take vacation between Christmas and New Year's Day. I enjoyed being at work in a fairly quiet office. I also spent quality time gaining my PATH experience by traversing to a new place to shop every day during my lunch hour. Of note, my lunch hour ended up getting extended, but who would know when I was the only person in the office, right? Bonus! My first enjoyable walk was from Brookfield Place to the Winners at Yonge and King. I got a decent walk to and from this store. I also scored a purple Eddie Bauer puffy jacket for a ridiculous $40 that I loved so much. I became more daring as I became more comfortable with the PATH. I remember setting up an appointment at the Apple Store at the Eaton Centre. My iPod wasn't working properly. So, I walked from work over to the store after work. My iPod was analyzed and was determined that it was faulty under warranty. I got a new one, which I still have today and love, despite the device itself being discontinued. Ah, memories! Whenever I'm downtown and I'm taking in a concert or event at Scotiabank Arena, I tend to walk through the PATH. It is open 24 hours a day. Many of the store are closed, but you can still safely meander the underground walkways. I've done it many times between 11:30 pm and 12:30 am. For concerts, I tend to park at Richmond Adelaide Centre and walk down to Scotiabank Arena. Parking is cheaper. I can also drive out of the downtown core without much congestion compared to being a block or two away from the venue. The PATH is perfect. I often leave my coat in my car and walk underground. Less bulk is nice. The PATH is cool is my books. If you're a tourist, give it a try because it's different and it's one of the better ones in major cities. If you walk around downtown often and it's horrible outside, walking underground is a nice alternative. (168)

You would think that it's dated, dingy, and sometimes smells funny. However, if you have some past connection to this mall, like I do, you will find it strangely endearing. In a time when so many malls are owned by Cadillac-Fairview, and so many malls look exactly the same, it's kind of refreshing to see good old Galleria, still stuck in the 1970s and unapologetically so. I remember going to this mall as a child. I remember when the FreshCo was a Food City, and the Rexall was a Boots (yep, the drugstore chain from the UK, they actually had them in Canada, once upon a time). There was a Towers in this mall (not the record store, but a discount store similar to Target and Kmart). The mall area (not inside the stores, but the common area) looked exactly the same! I remember people would go there and hang out, but not in a sketchy-what-are-they-up-to kind of way, but in a building community and making friends kind of way. They were mostly older men. They wore slacks with their shirts tucked in. They'd drink coffee and talk about life. There was a discount store there (like a dollar store, but prices were more than a dollar) that sold the most unusual things. I saw a Jesus night light there. Twenty years later, I'm pretty sure I saw the same night light. I think it was in a different store, but definitely still in the same mall. Once in a while the parking lot would be closed off and there would be a carnival/fair. With games, rides, and cotton candy. They still do this occasionally. So I heard the mall is set for demolition and the place is going to be redone. I have very mixed feelings about this. I realize that revitalization will likely attract more customers and make the place more money (this kind of nostalgia does not pay bills), but I will really miss the old time charm. So even if you have no sentimental feelings for the mall, it's not that bad, it's a functional mall that's not too crowded, with a grocery store (FreshCo) and a drug store (Rexall).
