I took my iphone 5 for replacing the cracked screen to the mobilicity shop. The guy, Muji, opened it up, unscrewed it and then he realized he didnt have more black screens :S.... So he had to put everything back for the 1st time. I realized the camara wasn't working so he had to open it up again, his boss arrived with more supplies so Muji replaced the screen but now the home button wasn't working.... Opened it up for the 4th time and he replaced the home button as it was broken but now the display was flickering. He realized the screen was defective!!! He asked me to go back the next day and for the moment I left with a white screen and a no working camera!! I lost count how many times he opened my phone and how any screws he lost... He doesn't seem to be experienced or skilled!!! read more

I have only frequented this mall three times but I'm pretty impressed. The Toys R Us has a somewhat limited baby section but it beats driving all the way to Etobicoke to buy parts for my medela pump. Yay for No Frills! The Walmart is a little crowded, the lighting a little bit dim, lines at the cash register are long but there is a produce section. Less depressing than the Walmart in Etobicoke. I generally tend to avoid Walmart and will only enter unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. There is a broad range of cell phone providers - maybe even all of them! I haven't really "shopped" at the mall yet so I can't comment on that aspect. However, the mall itself seems new, brightly lit, bustling with people, and a relatively fun place to be. I'm constantly running into this mall, it has all the staples a time strapped, single girl in the city needs, wine @ the Wine rack, yummy breads and cheese @ No Frills and marked down designer dresses @ Winners. I'd really like to be able to give this mall a 3, however the bathrooms...oh the horror. I would literally expect better cleanliness at a truckstop. Even before you enter the bathrooms, the overwhelming stench of urine will hit your senses prompting a gag reflex . I've been right at 7:45 am before the mall opens and it's the same. The toilet seats are all stained, faucets often don't work, chipped paint, cracked mirror. I literally refuse to enter now. TIP: Use the bathroom in Walmart - it's like a 4 star spa in comparison (you will find it in the frozen food isle) Dufferin Mall, you may want to change your slogan from "Dufferin Mall..Really" To "Dufferin Mall...Really Stinky Bathrooms" Update Nov 2015. This mall has changed so much over the years. I used to live in the area and this was my go to mall. I haven't been back for a long time and I was pleasantly surprised with the most recent visit Mall looks brighter and cleaner but they now put more vendors along the hallway so it's less walking space. read more

Okay, so I admit, I'm not a mall connoisseur. I only come here for the No Frills and the Beer Store, but they're across the mall from each other, so I've definitely made my way through the whole thing. It's nice. Not super crowded, not filled with shrieking kids (though it's nearly impossible to find a seat in the food court, I'm telling you now), and it's got the only(?) subway-accessible Wal-Mart in all of Toronto. I just never seem to find anything I want to buy here, apart from groceries. Maybe that's my fault. read more

For those who are shopping on a budget, Dufferin Mall is your one stop shop. It's got a ton of discount stores like Payless, Wal-Mart, Ardene's, Bluenotes, Dollarama, Garage, H&M, Winners, No Frills, Le Chateau, etc. It most recently underwent a makeover to wash away its unclean, dirty and dangerous reputation. However, Dufferin Mall is still located in a sketchy part of Toronto and still invites some sketchy clientele. If you need to do some shopping on a budget, this is a great place to go. There's free parking and its located right on the TTC line. And although it features of 120 stores, it's not so big that you couldn't lap the mall in an hour. read more

I love this mall. It has everything. An H&M, a Dollar Store (probably not called Dollar Store but something close to it), Walmart, No Frills, Swiss Chalet, a food court, a natural supplements store, a GNC. It's surprising to find all these stores in such an ugly mall. If you need it you'll probably find it at Dufferin Mall... that should be their slogan...i think all they need is a hardware store... they also have a Wine Rack, Beer store, Toy R Us, Cinnabon, Baskin Robbins, Winners... I try to avoid it at all costs, unless an emergency of Wal-Mart sized proportions happens, I am generally successful in this. Unfortunately enough, Dufferin Mall has the reputation among people I know as being the place that induces panic attacks in even the calmest individuals. Sure, there are some retail stores which are otherwise absent from the west side, and sure, sometimes a person just needs to eat Cinnabon and look at shiny stuff to buy. But the people who spend time here as a pleasurable activity are either teenagers or brain damaged, because this is one of the least pleasant places to be ANY time of year, let alone the holidays. The depressingly necessary stops include Dollarama (where else can you get garbage bags and j-cloths for a buck?), Wal-Mart (where, really, there is never a line less than four billion people), No Frills. Places to avoid are any chains done better elsewhere - H&M, Winners, Payless, etc. A bright spot in a dark place is also the concentration of two plus-size women's clothing stores, Penningtons and Voluptuous, as well as a Reitmans that includes a plus section. read more

After a recent Talk thread, I've been inspired to actually review this mall. The bottom line is that if you're looking for cheaper prices than other malls, this place might be the one to go to. That of course does not mean better quality, so take that with a grain of salt. Between the Walmart, Winners, Marshalls, Dollarama and No Frills, we're talking about some of the more discounted retail shopping environments. Even the Gap store is an Outlet location. And then throwing in a swarm of poorly manufactured and super cheap clothing that you should avoid like International Clothiers and Pinstripes (seriously, if you think you're ever going to get a decent suit for $100 you probably need to rethink that), you can tell this malls target demographic, and it ain't pretty. But there is the convenience of free parking and admittedly this is one of the better No Frills locations you can visit... So there are upsides. And being that mid-point between the higher end options like Yorkdale and Eaton Centres, versus the slummy places like the Galleria Mall, I suppose I still have to give it 3 stars. read more

"This ain'nt no Yorkdale, This ain't no Square One. This ain't no Eaton Centre!" to the tune of "Life During Wartime" and with my deepest apologies to the Talking Heads. Ah, the Suffering Hall - Retail purgatory with convenient-ish TTC access and plenty of free parking. The Dufferin Mall is Toronto's in-city down-market destination mall. Under one very large one level roof one can find almost 150 retail shops anchored by WalMart , NoFrills, and ToysRUs. No "flagship retail" in this port of commerce. People enter and exit the tastefully renovated premises with consumption on their minds and they tend to get in and get out having gotten things done. Pretty much the original design goal of the shopping centre. It would be easy for me to deride the place as a little bit o' suburbia smacked in the midst of some truly dense urban real estate - oh that would be soooooo easy. But as I have come to realize, it obviously fulfills a need. The place is consistently busy (not Yorkdale stupid social busy, just busy) and forensic evidence of those multitudes going and coming there from parts beyond can be seen daily on the # 29 bus and Dufferin Station. If Dufferin Mall wants to be the Mall of the People then I say "Let them eat Cinnabon!" Did I really just say that? read more

How many fights can you have in Dufferin Mall, before you stop going to Dufferin Mall?* There's something about this mall that just doesn't agree with me, but yet I keep getting drawn back in. I like the H&M there. WalMart is so much fun (sorry, neighbourhood enthusiasts). It's really close to the subway, and there's not too much else drawing me to that neighbourhood that makes me want to go. I don't love the....vibe? Strange...sampling...of people. Not sure why people are constantly nagging & undermining this mall in other reviews. It's much bigger and has a lot more than compared to the galleria several blocks north of it. Sure it may not be as fancy or as much of a maze like Yorkdale mall or Eaton centre, but at least products here aren't extremely overpriced in many of the stores. Sure I may have shown up a lot at this since 1997, not much has really changed except that it looks a bit more modernized especially since 2008, clothing only stores that just open & close within 2-6 months, & a bunch of kiosks within the mall that don't seem to be as annoying now as compared to in 2011-13. This place has pretty decently sized food court that gets busy around 12 noon especially at McDonalds having the biggest lineup sometimes spanning over 20 people at times. Sometimes it takes too long to order either because a customer causes a fuss or can't speak English. There's quite a variety of food to choose from, whether it's Asian culinary on which is tasty, pizza, subway sandwiches & your typical over greasy fast foods that's popular. On the bright side there's a Swiss Chalet near the main entrance on Dufferin St. that serves great food all the time, & beer for those who like to drink. Kind of wish there was more seating throughout the place inside, whether it be those comfortable black sofa like benches (on which mostly elderly sit on for hours) or even double/triple the seating locations within the food court area since so many people cram the area or seem to loiter for over an hour on peak times. read more

I grew up in the area and went to Dufferin Mall for all my needs (my, meaning our). Groceries, gifts, whatever. I hated it. Now, not having gone for many years in between, I have rediscovered this mall on my own and I loooove it!!! I don't go to the majority of shops, but it has literally everything and it's even better, no, so so so much better than the other malls in the city because it has the good clothes shops that one needs, with some of the cheaper, crappier ones thrown in, AND it has DOLLARAMA and a grocery store! Not just any grocery store: NO FRILLS. It's like the downtown mall for people who are not trying to throw away their money. As someone who shops too much, I love this place because unlike Eaton Centre, it is not jam packed, and even if it is, it's version of jam-packed aint nothin' compared to Eaton Centre. All my needs are met: H&M, Winners and NoFrills, to get it all done in one trip, usually I'll go to Dollarama, there's a Timmys, and if I'm really really giving up on my morals, then I can even go to the Wal-Mart! It's all there!! On the rare occasion that even H&M disappoints, there are a few other stores that one can rely on to get their need to buy something out of the way: Ardene and Bluenotes are there, too! omg i love this mall! It did a huge renovation all through-out the mall with leather sofas to sit on! anyone who hasnt been here since the late 1990 to 2006 gotta go now and see this great make-over!!! omg i love walmart, and tim hortons inside the mall! walmart is my best store to go to, it is crowded but hey, what walmart isnt in toronto? ! they have a quick serve sushi bar. it look way better than before, seriously looks like ur in eatons centre with the new get-up! read more

The Mall has great facilities, however I just aware you to take care about the customer service, mainly at "Face Off" Store. They sold me one smartphone and when I get home I realized It has a scratch on the screen. Although with the 30 days of warranty they give me, they did not have it repaired, and asked me for more 350 dollars. I found other store out of the mall that have it done for 75% less. Be careful with this guys! read more

Dufferin Mall has vastly improved since its most recent renovation and crime crackdown (stories are still told in law enforcement circles of the serious badness that used to go down here). It's quite pleasant inside, even though I'm not too interested in many of the stores (lots of clothes stores) there. The parking has also been expanded; there's now a big underground lot accessible from the southern part of Dufferin, in addition to the above-ground parking at the northern end. It's nice to see a mid-urban mall that has been revitalized, so that a trip to the suburbs isn't necessarily the only way to get one's mall-shopping fix. read more

The greatest mall ever conceived. It's like a good actor in a bad film, just refreshing.

Not quite a strip mall due to its larger scale size in land, but it has the feel of a strip mall in that most of the stores are lined up in a row with a food court at the end of it. Just located off of Dufferin and Bloor Street, it is easily accessible off of Dufferin Station if you are taking Toronto public transit. The pros of this mall aside from its convenient location is that it has a Walmart, a No Frills, a Beer Store and LCBO (next to each other). A good location if you need any of these mentioned store items. Keep in mind, Dufferin and Bloor area is kind of ghetto which is why you will see of a lot of nearby high school kids yell out: Yo, yo guy, yo, yo!!! Why you teefing me?! every 5 minutes. Another indication of the ghetto atmosphere is that this mall and surrounding area, has a KFC/ Popeye's Chicken in the mall's food court but also another KFC and Popeye's Chicken locations just outside the mall. You know, in case you want to compare fried chicken eats all in the same day in the proximity of high school kids yelling out: YOOOOO, guy!!!! You will also seen some grown adults yell out, Yo guy!!!, within the mall area as well. read more

Up until now, I had a secret relationship with Dufferin Mall. You see, Dufferin Mall has a bit of a reputation, and I don't think my family would approve of me traipsing around here. Sure, we have had our ups and downs, but there is just something special about Dufferin Mall.. something that no other mall can give me, and with that, our love is now public knowledge. I brought my dad here today to see what it is all about. I know "woo hoo, family trip to Dufferin Mall" right? Well I will tell you this. There are less than 2 weeks until Christmas and we A) found a parking spot with ease, B) got assistance at every single store we went to, and C) did not leave this mall with a bitter hatred and wishes to just cancel Christmas next year. The same cannot be said about our trip to Fairview mall later in the day. Dufferin Mall has one of the best Winners locations, if you ask me. Bare Escentuals, Urban Decay and Too Faced makeup, China Glaze nail polish, cute winter jackets, and a huge accessory section. Other notable stores are H&M (with no line ups at the cash or change rooms), Trade Secrets, a large Marks Work Wearhouse, Reitmans, Toys R Us, many shoe stores, and a Wal-Mart that does not make me want to kill myself. Notable Kiosks: Wowwow Nails - sells Konad supplies and Nubar nail polish (difficult to find in Ontario), A "make your own lipbalm" stand (I got them to make me a candy cane vanilla one for $2 today!), and a booth that will customize sports jerseys for a reasonable price. Food court: Surprisingly decent. They have a Thai Express, which makes them a winner in my books. So there you have it. I love Dufferin mall and I am only slightly ashamed to admit it. read more

a really interesting mall to say the least, I think this location has the closest Wal-Mart store, to the downtown core, in respect to the west end of Toronto. a really awesome food court, and one of the better no-frills i've seen in the city, and shockingly close to the no-frills at Dundas and Lansdowne. the parking lot is massive, with a good portion of the parking is covered, and FREE under 3 hours, which is Awesome. a great location that is super clean, and very close to Dufferin station. my only gripe about this mall is getting in and out of the mall is painful at best, even with all of the access points to get in and out of. a great mall to kill some hours at, or just to get away from the elements! read more

This is not bad place for shopping if you are in the area. You can shop for groceries too. Mall is small compare to others. Foodcourt is decent. Parking is good both upper and underground. They have walmart and no frills in this mall which is a plus. Definetly be back if i am in the area. read more

I was pleasantly surprised the other day coming here for the first time. I had been to the Walmart on a few occasions but never into the actual mall. It's a lot nicer than I was expecting. So many people complain about how crappy the mall is but I think it's pretty decent. They've obviously renovated in recent years as the space is clean and modern. Sure there isn't everything or every store you could possibly need in this mall but they get the job done here. read more

This mall is definitely a step up from the Sheridan mall. It has a lot more stores and more spacious. I love that they have H & M and Garage here, the two stores I adore and shop at. I love the food court here, a bit spaced out so there's actually room to move around and have a sit at a table. read more

I love The Duff for it's convenient access to cheap everything. Walmart, Dollarama, McDonalds, No Frills, that covers pretty much everything the budget conscious shopper could need. Since before I moved to Toronto I had people telling me this place was gross or sketchy or blah blah blah. To those people I say go to the Galleria and get back to me. I've never seen anything sketchier here than any other mall in the city. Sure it doesn't have $400 shoes like Yorkdale but most of us in the real world don't care. read more

You know, for its location, it's definitely not a bad mall. I grew up around the area and it was my go to mall then. Now that I'm older, I'll drop by every few months. I love that the mall finally has an H&M and I must say, it's one of the few H&M's that doesn't sell out of the smaller sizes as quick. The Wal-Mart is always extremely chaotic but I've found some things there that I haven't came across at other Wal-Marts. Overall,I think it's the type of mall where you go for specific things and specific stores opposed to a mall that you can spend hours walking around. read more

Solid go to mall. Pick up your basics from the essential stores. There is even a shoe shine/ key boutique. The mall is hot as hell, so wear layers. The place always seems to be changing it up. New store facades, lighting and kiosks. Complaints would be that there is not nearly enough benches down the hallways for shoppers to stop, sit and get organized. And the cafeteria is always gross/messy. Not enough staff to keep the place from being sticky and gross. I'm not mall rat, I usually head to this mall to pick up items i need for work, once a month or less, which brings me to this malls need for a office supply store. I figured it was high time I gave my local mall a review, having lived walking distance of it for nearly a decade. SO, where to begin. I guess I'll just write some tried and true tips on the art of visiting the Duff. This place is ALWAYS busy. No matter what time or day of week. The washroom in the food court is usually the cleaner of the two in this gigantic mall. Good mix of mom & pop stores and multinational retailers although I don't know how the M&Ps stay in business. There's never not a line at the McDonalds in the food court. Pro tip 1) there's another one in the Walmart 2)Skip McDonalds and find a healthier option. Watch your purse like a hawk, I've heard of far too many purse thefts happening while in stores. Try to visit early in the day and never on weekends unless you want to deal with EVERY store being a disaster and lots of slow walkers. (sure this is common at every mall but seeing as it's not that large of a mall it's more prominent) Get your eyebrows waxed/threaded at the Trade Secrets. Those ladies are brow geniuses. The Santa they hire at xmas is the real deal right down to the beard. He's also cool with grown up idiots wanting to take photos with him. Free Wifi apparently but I've never used it. All and all it's super convenient and even if I didn't live closeby I would likely go there for all of my consumerist needs because it's way less of a clusterfuck then the Eaton Centre. This mall is outdated. But I believe that it will start becoming popular once the forever21 and american eagle open up later in the year. I can't spend more than 3 hours here, or I'll just be back tracking in the same stores all over again. It's cheap here and great for family shopping. As they even have a toddler sized bathroom space which is livid with colours from afar. It's close to the station and visible from a distance if you're coming from the subway. read more

Reading some of these negative reviews about Dufferin Mall it makes me wonder what those people actually experienced at the mall. *Spooked* I've been going to this mall for quite a while and trust me, it's not haunted or disgusting. Sure there's a bunch of teens and older folk hanging around there, just like EVERY other mall in Canada. I think this mall is fairly decent, lots of traffic during peak shopping times but most people are fairly nice. Staff at many of the shops are younger but again are fairly nice and do a decent job for min wage. Lots of stores, the Big Walmart is there(two floors), no frills, gym, hair college, ebgames, winners. All in one place with as much seating as Yorkdale's food court. Biggest down side, not enough washrooms. This is not a tourist mall like Eaton Center. It's just a plain mall, with lots of stores and mostly family shoppers on the weekend. read more
