I love to browse around at Shops at Don Mills! And I think my dog would love the idea too!! So neat that you can bring your little doggie inside the stores and shop with you as long as the stores does not sell any food products! I know for non dog lovers it does not sound really appealing but what the heck... as long as the dogs are well behaved! The shops here are more upscale and it is a wonderful experience to browse and do some window shopping when the weather is nice and sunny. At least Shops at Don Mills is an unique experience compares to all those suburban malls that feature the same stores and selling the same goods! This is a breath of fresh air! I can hear my dog calling me and want to spend an afternoon doggie shopping on a nice sunny day!

I come here once in a while on dinning. Lots of parking, brand name shops and restaurants to choose. I've been to most of the restaurants, all of them are good I would say and reasonable price. Nice outdoor plaza. Am not sure about winter time.

It was a nice Monday and although the weather report said it would rain, we were pleasantly surprised with the sunny warm skies. So we decided to go for a little trip to Don Mills. It was my first time here and it kind of reminded me of a fancy outdoor outlet, except it's not outlet stores. They have shops like Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Lindt, and Guess. They have some boutiques too that I don't remember the name of. Clothes are generally pretty expensive here. We just went to look. Parking is crazy. For some reason it was really packed for a Monday afternoon. We had to park on the second floor of the parkade. McEwans was the most fun place to go. They have so much food and fancy stuff to look at. Everything looks so yummy (and expensive)! It reminds me of a Whole Foods. The highlight of my trip was seeing this homeless lady slowly making her way through the mall area. She's known to frequent buses, hospitals, Tim Hortons, and Loblaws. This was a nice place to spend 2 hours or so browsing and looking at food. I would not go if the weather was cold or wet, though. I wonder how businesses do then?

It's a lovely shopping area. With retail, movie theatre, and restaurants. The bonus is outdoor walking from store to store.

Fairview Mall has gone through an evolution and reimagination of the retail space. I love how they redeveloped the space where Sears used to be. The space is now converted into a mini Chinatown spot with Saint Germain bakery, bubble tea shop, Hong Kong style cafe, Thai restaurant, and a T&T Supermarket. On the top floor there's a Marshalls / Homesense big box store. I noticed the Zara store has been renovated and now occupying 2 levels. The store looks immaculate and love the modern layout and self serve checkout kiosks to make shopping faster for DIY people. I managed to do some shopping at H&M and got some great deals in the sale section. I also bought some groceries like green beans, lychee, bbq pork buns, and curry beef pastries. It's not very often you can go to regional mall and be able to buy clothes, groceries, and bakery goods. It was a pleasant experience. I look forward to the transformation of the vacant Hudson Bay space. Oh did I mention they have a Playdium arcade in the old Sportchek space beside the Cineplex theatre.

Pariwar Hut is an offshoot of Pariwar Restaurant on Lawrence. I've heard the specialty is biryani. I'm looking forward to trying it. The man running the stall is very friendly. Rose Kebab needs more love. Rose is a one-man operation and she makes reasonably priced food with really big portions. My go-to is the Koobideh kebab, although I also enjoy the lamb shank. She's got quite a few vegetarian options too! Grandone opened during the pandemic and ran a 50% off sale for a very long time. They've got a Fantuan promo going on right now. Buy $15 and get $13 off? If you don't have Fantuan (delivery app), go to the link in my profile and get a newcomers coupon pack, then go to Grandone's Fantuan profile and get your Grandone coupon. Fried chicken is pretty good. I like it spicy. I'm not sure if they've changed it now but the shrimp sandwich brought back memories of trips to Asia. Yummy BBQ makes lunch sets that are bang for buck! Their Yummy special is enough food for 2-3 people and all their BBQ meats are super juicy and delicious. Other things I really enjoy are their pork bone soup, their seafood pancake, and their zucchini in egg batter. Wooffles, obviously, is a fan favorite. If you don't know why, go check our their Yelp page.

I recently returned to check this plaza out. On Saturday, I was here to take in a movie at Cineplex Odeon. It pretty much anchors the open plaza of huge box stores. It's a decent place to take in a movie. There is lots of parking and the seats are comfy. There are a handful of eateries parallel and closest to Lebovic Avenue. The Real Greek, East Side Mario's, and Minerva Tiffins were doing decent business when my movie was over at around 3:30 pm. There used to be a diner called Nickels in this row of eateries. It was owned by Celine Dion. My friend and I loved eating here. It threw you back to milkshakes, sandwiches, burgers, and Montreal-style smoked meats from the 50's or 60's. It was good eats and fairly cheap. It still sits vacant as this silver-looking bullet. It's a shame. Some businesses have stood the test of time. Old Navy, Wendy's, Roots, CIBC, and Dollarama are some of them. It was nice to see that they are still kicking around. There are some newer additions that look promising. Seafood City Supermarket and Healthy Planet are huge size-wise. I'll need to check them out when I return. It's a nice plaza where you can get almost everything. It does need a drugstore, though. Maybe one will pop up down the road. (173)

My parents and I would pass by it whenever we were driving along Victoria Park Avenue. We'd stop by this mall primarily for two stores: - Miracle Food Mart - Kmart Our usual Miracle Food Mart was Gerrard Square. This one was our second usual Miracle. The special part about this grocery store, which is now Metro, is the domed roof. It has always been that way and is considered a heritage property. When my parents and I moved from Toronto to Markham (my first stint), we shifted from a one-bedroom apartment to a house. We needed a better vacuum. My parents had a Hoover upright. There was a sale at Kmart for a more powerful Hoover with hose attachments. We came to this mall to get it. It lasted a good couple of decades. I figure that I got my brand loyalty from my parents. I am that way with products that work for decades, such as Sony and Samsonite. Kmart is no more. It probably explains one reason why we stopped frequenting this mall. The other was that it was dumpy back then. Roughly a decade ago, I spent a lot of time at the McDonald's drive-thru that is detached physically from the mall, but is still a part of it. It is steps away from Ellesmere Road. I used to work at Yonge and Eglinton. When I'd drive along York Mills-Ellesmere heading eastbound and felt like grabbing a bite to eat for dinner after work, I'd come here. I never had any issues with my order. It's funny that I have yet to go inside the restaurant. I was recently at Parkway Mall to grab some bubble tea at CoCo. There was plenty of parking. I loved the CoCo store. It is a great addition to the mall. There's also Gabby's across from it. I used to like the wings there and hope that they are still yummy. I hope to drop by one of these days. I haven't walked the entire mall because I still don't feel comfortable browsing in a large space during a pandemic. I will say that this mall satisfies your needs for most things. Groceries. A food court. Restaurants. School and office supplies. Cell phones and providers. Drug store. Dental and health services. I'd say that Dollarama, Metro, and Dollarama anchor this mall. I parked in front of Dollarama. I wanted to go into this store, but I had an order to pick up elsewhere. Next time! I hope to spend more time taking a closer look at what the mall has to offer. From my brief visit a couple of Saturdays ago, it is definitely less dumpy than I recall it to be. (77)
