My rating is 3.5 stars. I'll round up. Parkway Mall has been around my entire life. I grew up in the Beaches. My parents and I would pass by it whenever we were driving along Victoria Park Avenue. We'd stop by this mall primarily for two stores: - Miracle Food Mart - Kmart Our usual Miracle Food Mart was Gerrard Square. This one was our second usual Miracle. The special part about this grocery store, which is now Metro, is the domed roof. It has always been that way and is considered a heritage property. When my parents and I moved from Toronto to Markham (my first stint), we shifted from a one-bedroom apartment to a house. We needed a better vacuum. My parents had a Hoover upright. There was a sale at Kmart for a more powerful Hoover with hose attachments. We came to this mall to get it. It lasted a good couple of decades. I figure that I got my brand loyalty from my parents. I am that way with products that work for decades, such as Sony and Samsonite. Kmart is no more. It probably explains one reason why we stopped frequenting this mall. The other was that it was dumpy back then. Roughly a decade ago, I spent a lot of time at the McDonald's drive-thru that is detached physically from the mall, but is still a part of it. It is steps away from Ellesmere Road. I used to work at Yonge and Eglinton. When I'd drive along York Mills-Ellesmere heading eastbound and felt like grabbing a bite to eat for dinner after work, I'd come here. I never had any issues with my order. It's funny that I have yet to go inside the restaurant. I was recently at Parkway Mall to grab some bubble tea at CoCo. There was plenty of parking. I loved the CoCo store. It is a great addition to the mall. There's also Gabby's across from it. I used to like the wings there and hope that they are still yummy. I hope to drop by one of these days. I haven't walked the entire mall because I still don't feel comfortable browsing in a large space during a pandemic. I will say that this mall satisfies your needs for most things. Groceries. A food court. Restaurants. School and office supplies. Cell phones and providers. Drug store. Dental and health services. I'd say that Dollarama, Metro, and Dollarama anchor this mall. I parked in front of Dollarama. I wanted to go into this store, but I had an order to pick up elsewhere. Next time! I hope to spend more time taking a closer look at what the mall has to offer. From my brief visit a couple of Saturdays ago, it is definitely less dumpy than I recall it to be. (77) read more

It's a shopping centre that recently completed a facelift both of the interior and exterior. I frequent the many businesses located here. The Metro is considered one of the best in Scarborough. Love the TD Canada Trust branch and Gabby's Restaurant. Lots of selection at the LCBO and you have to try a Banana Split Sundae at Marble Slab Creamery. Can't find that odd hardware item? Head to Bailey's Home Hardware inside the mall or even venture into Dollarama. Refresh yourself with something from Real Fruit Bubble Tea, CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice or Healthy Planet (or even Tim Hortons, McDonald's). read more

A struggling old neighbourhood mall trapped in a vicious cycle of growing vacancy rate and dwindling traffic. There are still three useful stores inside the mall itself although the majority of the traffic is attracted by the adjacent fast-food places, a Metro,LCBO and the Healthy Planet which are outside the mall but still within it's parking lot. Up until 5 years ago Parkway was, if nothing else an interesting time capsule from the early days of the suburban indoor retail complex, though probably one generation newer than the likes of Agincourt Mall & Galleria Dupont. Now the abandonment & decay has distorted even that aspect. For those who live in the immediate vicinity, there is the Metro, and small 1990's-style Shoppers Drug Mart (no groceries) an Open Window bakery store that also sells some Chinese buns (probably sourced from KinKin based on their look), Rizvi sells cheap electronic gadgets, phone cases and all kinds of common cables, chords,connectors & adapters (yes, lots of people still use stuff like routers & splitters ). A Real Fruit bubble tea franchise is the lone concession to retail modernity. Best thing there is the Home Hardware which is surprisingly useful alternative to Dollars Stores for all sorts of household stuff & seasonal accessories (gloves, tuques, shovels, snow brushes). There's also a small public Library and a CIBC branch with ABM's. A very slow facelift has been in progress for a couple of years now - there seems to be no clear vision or tenant list but at least renovations are unobtrusive. It will be interesting to see if Parkway can reverse what loos like a slow march toward becoming an Urbex site. read more

Parkway Mall is an A-OK neighbourhood mall. Everything that local residents need for their everyday life My Check List: - Banks: TD, CIBC, Scotia - Grocery: Metro - Coffee: Tim Horton, Second Cup - Library!! - Health: Dentist, Doctor, Massage Therapy - Beauty: Nails, Hair Salon BTW, Parkway Mall does have a Credit Counselor..but if one going to hang out at Parkway Mall, I don't think they need that? There are no where you can really blow $300 on a pair of shoes or $2000 on a bag? Not surprising on a rainy day, a lot of seniors used Parkway Mall as a hang out.. They don't have Starbucks but Second Cup is not bad if they want to order a cappuccino? read more

I came here for the very first time - to go to Parkway Mall mobilicity for the $25/month data plan because I always here about this mall on the radio. Anyways, parking was pretty full here. The first thing I recognize is the beautiful METRO located in the mall (well more off to the side actually). The mall itself is relatively old, with a few bakeries and shops inside such as Home Hardware, Payless, mobile phone booths in the small middle booths in the mall and small stores. One of the stores that caught my eye was a tiny booth inside the mall where ladies were selling their knitted products. I thought it was super adorable, probably cause Christmas is arriving as well. The food court has like two places you can eat from and a bubble tea shop. There's also a public library here as well. I think Parkway Mall is located fairly close to a high school because I saw a lot of highschool students in uniforms walking around here during after school hours. This place came up on my Google Maps while I was looking for a nearby branch for my bank. This is my first time of the small and I will be lying if I say that I did not run outside after I finished my bank errands I did not feel safe, it's a sad place, the most depressing mall I have ever been to in my whole entire life The mall is extremey old and dirty and wornout! I did not recognize a single brand in there, except for shoppers drug Mart, everything else is a shop selling some bad looking no bra and no standard items! It's like I have stepped out of Canada for five minutes and went to some deserted country and living a very disturbing dream sometime in the 16th century, yes it was that bad! Stay away! read more

Driving on Ellesmere I found this mall by accident. It had the pastel pink exterior of a 1980s renovation. I thought to myself that I hadnt updated my Yelp list of sad malls in a while and quickly jerked the steering wheel to enter the parking lot. Once I had a look around I realized I had been to this mall before. There is a branch of Fitness One there which I used once. And I remembered the library. As I have mentioned in other reviews, I love malls with library branches in them. I fondly recall the library in Yorkdale Mall from my childhood. There is the usual assortment of B grade shops you can expect from a sad mall. Nothing stood out particularly except for a well stocked health food store. There is a bakery with various asian buns, but no food court. There was a hurricane simulator though! read more

The food court is atrocious. There is a greek place that is maybe 2 stars at best, but the worst chinese food place I've been to is located here. The place is called Asian Delight, and their prices seem reasonable at first glance. Their most expensive combo is 2-items + rice or noodle for about $8 tax incl. Reasonable right? So I decided I didnt want any rice. So I ordered a large portion of sweet and sour pork and some other type of meat (I forgot the name). So the container was actually smaller than their regular combo container, and they charged me close to $14! They obviously don't know how much to charge, especially when a lot of the meat was bones and cartilage. Plus, the meat was way too sweet for my liking. I'm willing to try a hole-in-the-wall anytime, as long as the food is reasonable. You can plug a stick of dynamite in this hole-in-the-wall and forget about it. C.L. read more

I'm sorry, but I only come here for the Metro and Home Hardware, jesus! Okay there's a Dollarama, but I'm grasping straws if there's anything else. Pretty sad mall, there's a McDonald's and Tim Horton's outside that's packed with about high schoolers during lunch and after the 3:00 bell. Stores are lackluster and stock a lot more junk than anything useful, collecting dust with the poorest clientele I've ever seen. The Metro grocery store here is huge, stocks more products than their other stores. Home Hardware is good for some household stuff, however not a goldmine by any means. Food court here is dismal, deplorable, disgusting. Really you'd rather be worth throwing your money in a trash can than eating from here. As for the previous reviewers regarding buying a cell phone, I'd steer clear if I were you. Go elsewhere for the hotline bling. read more

I grew up not far from here in the early 80's & it was a great place then. Lots of good stores & busy. Having moved away I hadn't been there for nearly 25 years but by the early 2000's it was struggling, little in the way of big name stores, food court nearly empty & the department store replaced by a staples that draws no traffic to the mall. It's just gotten worse in the past decade with a redevelopmen absolutely gutted the mall and took forever. The library relocated to a much smaller space, the last anchor (metro) now completely disconnected and what was most of the mall space now replace by low rise office buildings that sit vacant. The food court which had been half empty previously is now completely dead. About the only useful things left here are the very small library & Rizvi electronics for their inexpensive electronics accessories. read more

I live near this mall, and it's the only one within walking distance. Thankfully, I have access to a car, because this mall is terrible. I visit this mall quite often, and stores open and close on a monthly business thanks to the lack of business. It had 3 banks in the vicinity (TD and CIBC in the mall, Scotia right outside), which is a plus. The only other useful store in my opinion is Home Hardware, because Metro is an expensive place to grocery shop. The rest of the stores in the mall are quite small, and in my opinion completely useless, with the exception of a couple. There's barely a food court; a nice pizza place, some Greek food, and one Chinese place. A Subway, Tim Hortons, and McDonalds right outside the mall. I suppose it's a nice place to have if you need a quick bite to eat, or just in case it's raining badly and you need some shelter. Other than that, I really wouldn't bother with this place. read more

We really like coming to this small little mall. They have cute stores. Most of all we appreciate home hardware, metro foods and our dentist office. Our bank is there with great hours so...we are parkway mall fans. read more

Asia Delight in Parkway Mall is the worst Chinese Food on the the planet, not joking. the food is always the same, no specials. The cook is gross and greasy looking. Please don't eat here, even if you're starving. If you like bony, cartilagey, greasy over cooked, or under cooked, depending on the day, then risk it. read more

They have a Real Fruit, a Metro, a library, and a food court. The food court is usually fairly empty and quiet, and it does have some cheap eats. I get my hair cut here most of the time, so I wander around sometimes. This is not where you would go if you wanted to have a shopping date or something though. Definitely a neighborhood mall. read more

Came here for a Bank, Shoppers D.M. and a brunch run. Not too busy if you come here early, especially in regards to parking, they're putting in a big liquor store so the construction is hampering finding a spot for now. But hey I'll bite the bullet for a larger selection of spirits. The mall has been expanding over the years so convenience has increased substantially, it's not a major shopping stop but it has everything selection wise if you take a look around. read more

Parkway mall is an ideal place to go, if you want to go shopping at the dollar store, buy jewelry, shop for low cost bags, purses and clothing, because guess and guess accessories are way out of your budget. The best thing about Parkway Mall, is that it's not nearly as crowded as all the other much bigger and more expensive Malls. read more

I only come here if I'm going to see my doctor upstairs. They have a terrible food court unfortunately. They just have smaller no frills kind of stores. There is a TD, shoppers, and Metro which redeems it. I also like their health and nutrition store. They have a library in the mall and a couple stores with fancy dresses but not expensive. Come here if you need to stop in for groceries (Metro) there is a dollarama, Cibc, shoppers drugmart, second cup, home hardware, obviously more but those stood out to me and that's where I usually go to shop. The Greek place in the mall is good, I have noticed they give smaller portions now but the same price. I used to be super full off of the gyro (no bread) and a Greek salad; this time I'm still hungry :s. I have had the Chinese food here and it was good and fresh. It's a small mall, but I believe in quality over quantity, and judging by the low scores other users gave this mall they don't believe in the same principle unfortunately. Now the main reason this mall gets 5 stars is for Healthy Planet. Healthy Planet is a great organic health store that you can get organic food and personal care items from. So if you're on the path to cutting out GMOs from your life and starting a healthy life journey, then places like this are a good start. Some other highlights of this mall include: CIBC, TD, Metro, Dollarama, a small public library, Staples (next door), and a pretty good bowling alley. Now see? There are actually more useful things here than in much bigger malls. There is variety store as well and the two employees are pretty nice. Parkway mall is never crowded and I actually think it has a very relaxing atmosphere. My review is for HAIR SHOW. They gave me orange hair when they charged me 100 dollars for root touch ups for my highlights. No refund and they wanted me to go back to the same hairdresser to fix it, and I was scared of her already because she ruined my hair. They did not want me to get redone by another hairdresser. I had to go to another hair salon to get my hair fixed. Their haircuts are pretty lame as well. Their owners are on vacation and could not be reached. read more

Received an entry form for a $250.00 shopping spree at this mall. Filled it out and went on a Friday night, Nov 8 to put it in the ballot box. Walked around the mall twice and could not find it, it was supposed to be in Centre Court, there was a Red Cross Blood Donor clinic going on in the area and there was no ballot box to be found. I asked them and also asked somebody in a store where it was, no one knew. I was not able to come back on Sat or Sun and therefore was disappointed that I wasn't able to enter the contest they advertised. read more

it was called parkway plaza when i was growing up. it was not a mall in those days. my cousin had her wedding reception at the parkway restaurant, downstairs. it was a "tacky" place, even then, but we didn't notice it. the grocery store was called "the grand". we had spencer's smoke shop and reitmans and kresge's. i loved their hamburgers. here's to days gone by. it was a happier time. kids didn't "hang out" at parkway. we hung out at don mills. it was classier. read more
