If you've lived in the Golden Mile neighbourhood for at least the past 60 years, then Eglinton Square Shopping Centre would be very familiar to you. This plaza opened in 1954 and then morphed into an enclosed mall with parking all around the outskirts of the building. Add to that a steep circular ramp to the rooftop where additional parking spots can be found; not many of these exists in the country. Anchor stores book end this mall; Metro and Hudson's Bay. Other notables of the 40 or so tenants including Dollarama, Shopper Drug Mart, TD Canada Trust, several mobile phone dealers, etc. The food court choices range from KFC, McDonalds, Tim Hortons, to a sit down full service Watts Restaurant serving British and Italian fare. Heck, if you're bored, just visit the Toronto Public Library (Eglinton Square Branch) just off of the food court. I prefer this shopping centre over the dozens of big box stores close by. read more

It's a small mall but it definitely packs a punch. It has every type of store you might need: Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart, Coles bookstore, Laura Secord chocolates and ice cream, Florist, Dry cleaners, Payless shoes, Metro grocery store, and a Food court with a decent selection and variety of eats (Library is closed for renovations but should reopen in a few months). It's on a busy corner and I would suggest entering the parking lot from Pharmacy and parking in the back where the food court is. No, it's not a place for hipsters and fashionistas that follow the latest trends; but is a perfect little neighborhood mall. This is where families gather to spend some time together eating, shopping and running errands; I can always find something I need or want here. Bring your kids, grand parents, nieces and nephews and hang out for a little while...... read more

Eglinton Square Shopping Centre has the basic needs if you live in the area, To name a few: Metro - 24 hours supermarket for your grocery needs Shopper Drug Mart The Bay Coles - got my 2011 Yoga Dog Calender for $5! Library Doctor's offices - dentist, family and optometrist Numerous smaller business and services for everyday needs Most of the shoppers for this Sunday afternoon are locals, older couples and familes. The younger crowds probably at the bigger mall like Fairview or Scarborough Town Centre.. but Eglinton Square does serves the local residents well especially on this rainny chilly afternoon so they can come and pick up some small things for themselves or do some Christmas shopping in a more relax environment! read more

Nice mall to walk around in. A good variety of stores to check out. Anything you really need can be found here.

This mall is kind of a sad little mall. Its anchor stores are The Bay, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart and I guess Dollarama. There is a Laura, Bentley and Suzy Shier, but most other stores are no name stores, many with tacky cheap women's clothing. In one of those stores there was a sign that said "no bargaining, prices as marked." Draw your own conclusions... There is a health food store (B.K. Natural Foods) in there that's kind of cool. And if you are looking for candy imported from England there is Mrs. Bridges' British Bakery. However, I poked around and looked at the expiry dates of some of their products and let's just say that some of their products were past their prime. They have baked goods and frozen stuff too (including haggis). There is a small food court with many of the usual stores and a restaurant called Watt's Restaurant. There is a public library near the food court. The Bay in this mall is the way The Bay used to be before Bonnie Brooks tried to make it all hoity-toity (like the flagship store on Queen Street or the one in Yorkdale). Call me nostalgic, but I like The Bay of my youth, so I like The Bay at Eglinton Square. Lots of old people at this mall, many in walkers. Not a critique, just an observation. This mall is not high fashion. It's a functional utilitarian mall. Decor is very pedestrian. I'm only giving this mall 2 stars because it is not exactly a shopping destination, even though I have a soft spot for it in my heart because it reminds me of how malls were in the 80s when I was young and carefree. I don't mind the dated decor and feel of the mall, they just need some stores that sell more fashionable stuff (doesn't have to be brand names, just needs to look nice), then I would give them more stars. read more

This is the mall that time forgot. The food court is jam-packed with seniors. There is a public library branch (always a plus for me!) right off the food court. The shops are typical except for one. Mrs. Bridges' British Bakery! It's the best of it's kind I have seen. All your British imported foods are available here. You want haggis? They have it. Or football team paraphernalia? Walker's crisps? There is a restaurant in the mall called Watt's Restaurant that looks unchanged since the 50s/60s. I haven't tried it, but it looks like a place I'd have tea with my British granny (if I had one). read more

Brief Intro: Everything You Need, Everyday... Eglinton Square is what one would consider as a community mall established back in the 1950s. Located at the bottleneck-shaped intersection of Eglinton and Victoria Park, it's home to businesses such as Bay, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart and many more. The Business Slogan "Everything You Need, Everyday" says it all and in some ways it is truly a relief but in other ways it matters not to me what they put as their Slogan. When the Ladies visit a Mall, the LAST thing they think about is what they "Need". Ladies think in terms of what they "Want" and psychoanalyzes it within less than 1-minute until it becomes an absolute "Need". Well, "What You Want, Everyday" isn't the Slogan here. Sorry Ladies... The BAD news is that even Guys might not "Need" what is offered here although it does hold Grocery Stores(Metro), Pharmacy Retail(Shoppers Drug Mart). Unless you live in proximity to Eglinton Square, you have very little reason to visit these shops that are scattered through-out the City an easily accessible without driving to a Mall looking for Parking Space. Seating Comfort Level:(*----) What makes you think I would even bother spending my time looking for seating here? I'm Library(Toronto) adverse and the MEH Food Court doesn't bring any passion out of me. (i.e. Bourbon St. Grill, Coffee Time, KFC, Teriyaki Experience, Manchu Wok, McDonald's, Mr. Sub, Mrs. Vanelli's, Ruby's Mediterranean Cuisine, Watts' Take-Out and Yogen Fruz) Safety Zone:(*****) Talk about Safe! I would bring any Women aged 30 and below and wouldn't even button up my pockets for Wallet security. The lay-out of this Mall is so that no one Wing of this is worthy of a Fashion Savvy Young Lady. Maybe try your luck with Nails for You, Creative Concepts, Shear Values Hair Salon. Just tell them WaYnE didn't recommend you. One can walk into a half decent shop(La Senza or Trade Secrets) and right to the next one feeling instant growth of 10-years and feeling like a Soccer Mom or House Wife. Example: Lindor, Suzy Shier, TanJay, Fashionrama, LeVar Fashions, Lusso Style. Huh? Exactly my point! Plenty of services that your future Children might need are offered here too. Your one stop shop for Dental, Optometrist, Family Doctor and while you wait for "Your" Children you can look for their Glasses(Spexx Optical), Dry Clean Clothes(Sketchley Cleaners), Fix your Golf Shoes(Art of Shoe Repair). Finally get your Hearing Aid(Hearing Solutions) fixed because you lost hearing from screaming Kids. Exit Strategy:(**---) For once in this Guide, I would have to say that this is a Unisex Exit Strategy. Guys please be a Gentleman and help your Lady with the escape if you ever come across this Mall. The structure of this building is in the shape of a Plus(+) sign therefore if you are in the middle cross-section, you have the best 4-way choice where you will see the English style Telephone Booth. At least there is Foot Locker to occupy the time there unless you're eating within Watt's Restaurant. The internal shops do not have exits that lead outside so you'll have to reach to the end of your choices of Metro, The Bay, Food Court(or Route 66 Restaurant), or the Lottery Kiosk. It's not the biggest of Malls and I'm sure with your athletic abilities, you can by-pass the Pedestrian Traffic as most are 2x your age. If you cannot do that, I suggest you go see the Family Doctor right at the Food Court. Entertainment Level:(-----) Sleep and maybe the London Telephone Booth. Sleep zzzzZzZZZ. read more

I went to buy food and dollarama but when outside to the parking, I get to my car, I was furious because someone opened my car and stolen some staff thanks God I had my handbag with me,so disappointed of the security and sad to know that someone is opening the cars on the parking so people be careful I'm not going to get there anymore read more

Very small mall but they have certain stores you'd find almost anywhere such as Shoppers, The Bay, Metro, Dollarama, Stitches, and Trade Secrets. I usually come to this mall if I need something quick because it's nearby. The food court kind is also very limited and could do with some improvements. They've got Manchuwok, McDs, Tim Hortons, Wyatts restaurant, Teriyaki, a juice place, and a Mediterranean place. A lot of seniors also chill in the mall (specifically in the food court), so that's the kind of crowd you'll find at Eglinton Square. Would I come here for a shopping spree or to buy a gift for someone? Definitely not as I need more of a selection of stores to choose from. But if I need something quick? Sure. read more

I have good memories of this mall, have lived in this area for over a decade... oh god this review is already making me sound old. This mall opened in the 50's and does cater to a lot of seniors. Notable stores here are Hudson's Bay, Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart, Metro, Payless ShoesSource, Foot Locker, Suzy Shier, Tip Top Tailors with a busy food court. For a half a century mall, it's doing better than I expected; way better than the dainty Bridlewood or East York Town Centre. read more

Not a fancy Mall, but good if you have to grab a few things and are trying to avoid the bigger shopping centres, and yes it does seem to have a lot of seniors hanging in the small food court. I like to go to hit up Metro, the bank, shoppers drug mart, book store etc. w/out having to go to 4 different places. read more

This is a small mall. More like a plaza really. They're still under renovation. It looks better but those coloured pillars look silly to me. The pillars change colours every once in a while. They need more benches for people to lounge around in. Isn't a mall's aim to keep you there as long as possible so you'll buy/spend more? LOL read more

Stays open quite late 10am-9pm most days .. Not as big as most malls but good to know if you're stuck for something and there's nowhere open! This mall is handy if you live in the area and don't have time to get out to a larger mall. It has a Shoppers Drug Mart, kiosks for the major cell phone companies, a Blacks, The Source, Footlocker, a jewelry store, and a dry cleaners. What is notable is that there are plenty of seniors in the food court. The Hudson's Bay, though it has a variety, seems to cater to seniors. There is a hearing aid place. One reason you might want to go specifically there is the Mrs. Bridges British Bakery. If you catch them around holiday times of year, there is a company that sells British TV DVDs that sets up a display in the centre aisle of the mall, and you can get your British DVD fix there, without having to order online. read more

It is a small place but ample parking, nicely updated food court. The stores are reasonably priced and it is larger inside than it looks. You can find just about anything that you need in this place. Shoes and clothing, food both fresh from Metro, and prepared in the food court. Dress clothes and casual. There is a lotto kiosk, Flower shop, ice cream shop, even a shoe repair place. read more

After waiting a long time for service the gentleman insisted that I give him all my personal information. I didn't want to but he insisted that I would pay double if I didn't. I did give him the info and he quoted a higher price insisting that the lower price was for a different scu. I went on line for the exact product sold by As Seen On TV and sure enough, it was the lower price. Very dishonest people. You won't see me there again! read more

It's a bit of an outdated mall frankly. It's known for being a bit more for the elderly. The store selection is small & don't very hip stuff. If you're 50+ and looking for well priced basic stuff you'll enjoy this mall. The food court is always busy surprisingly. read more

hard to find seating in the food court at lunch or dinner time. Hours - opens too late by the time it opens I've already done my shopping elsewhere and returned home and done all my cleaning. It's not a mall for morning people. Only opens at noon on Sundays, sucks. Handy for grabbing anything you're looking for but only when it's open, which isn't early enough.
