A mall that should be dying, but seems to be clinging to life and is always somewhat busy. There's a decent selection of stores, ranging from clothes and shoes, to music, games and sports. Along with various places to eat such as Tim Hortons, A&W, and fruit smoothies. A one corner is a sizeable Metro grocery store, next to a hardware store that seems more like a jumble sale than a place to buy quality tools. read more

Used to be a really good mall 4-5 years ago. Now half of the stores are closed with nothing there to replace them, no good selection left. Some stores are fine, however, stuff like Metro has a lot of overpriced groceries. Sometimes the place smells weird as well. read more

The LCBO and Kitchen Stuff Plus are the only reasons for me to visit this mall. There's mostly smaller shops here and the mall is fairly quiet. The vaccine clinic is also not very busy so it's a great spot to get a quick vaccine shot without the long wait. read more

I've lived in central Etobicoke for almost all my life and Cloverdale has been there the whole time. I've seen this mall evolve and change shape and new stores added and some leave. The major players in Cloverdale these days are Winners and Metro. Metro is 24 hours which is a huge plus for the area. The LCBO albeit a seemingly compact version of the store is on the East Mall side while the Beer Store while technically part of the mall is it's own building all together closer to Dundas by the Petro Canada station. The north part of the mall is now essentially vacant. When it used to be the Bay it was quite redundant since there was a Bay/Simpsons at Sherway Gardens only a few minutes away. When it was converted to a Zellers it was probably the best suited anchor type store of it's size for the area. When Target moved in it would have been a new breath of fresh air for Cloverdale but on a national level, Target didn't last very long at all. This absence leaves the entire north large foot print vacant. As I had mentioned in my review of Sherway Gardens, both Sherway and Cloverdale years ago (in the 70's, 80's) appeared to be on the same path of type of malls and then they went their separate directions with Sherway Gardens gearing more towards the affluent type retail stores (Harry Rosen, Holt Renfrew and now Saks and Nordstrom) while Cloverdale went more the lower income, older demographic and lower rent type stores for foot print. Sherway went with the higher rent, trendier, more expensive type stores. Cloverdale also has Kitchen Stuff Plus on the south side, Dollarama and Home Hardware as some other notables. One of the most popular "stores" in the mall is definitely the Service Ontario office near the north west section close to what used to be Target. Years ago there used to be a Service Ontario automated kiosk near the Hot Oven side of the mall but that machine has been removed. If I didn't need to get a photo taken to renew my driver's license I'd just get my plate sticker at that machine. Now I pretty much get it through the mail instead. Cloverdale to me is depressing. While I see it somewhat busy at times it seems more of a hangout for people rather than a place where people go for the sole purpose to actually purchase things. My last visit was a quick in and out and not so much to browse around. The food choices at this mall aren't that great. There's K Sushi and A & W and there used to be KFC back in the day I'm not sure what else is even there anymore. I don't know how well this mall does but I don't come to it very often. Still, this place has been around for a long time and hopefully for the community it will pick up and maybe another tenant will take the space previously occupied rather briefly by Target. read more

On the hallway to the washrooms in The Cloverdale Mall, there is a photo exhibit of the history of the mall. It's a concrete example of how this place has seen better days. It really is a shopping center that is an enclosed mall, containing a Metro and some other stores that you'd normally see in a strip mall. It's got low ceilings, it feels cramped and slightly creepy. One of the only reasons I ever stop here is for the washrooms, to be honest. read more

One of my favourite small to mid scale mall. Maybe because its quiet and is not packed with people. But that is the one thing they could improve as the tenants are not exciting and thus doesn't encourage you to spend money. read more

Don't knock Cloverdale. It's a user-friendly, non-intimidating mall. Very easy to browse around stores like Winners, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Home Hardware, Dollarama, etc. However, it needs a much better food court. More outlets and perhaps a real restaurant. I have watched Cloverdale change over the years from an outdoor mall anchored by Morgan's, to a heated indoor-outdoor mall. The Bay moved in, later to be replaced by Zellers, then Target. Well that is Cloverdale Mall for you... or as my friends and I affectionally call it "God's waiting room!" Everyone knows theres only a cpl reasons to go to this mall: 1. Winners 2. LCBO 3. A & W 4. Home Hardware 5. Ardene 6. Mr.Souvlaki 7. Dollerama The rest of the stores are good too. This mall has a nice assortment of stores for the average person. Nothing over pretentious. I find that this mall tends to be a bit of a seniors hangout. Nothing is wrong with that tho, its actually kinda cute if they are nice old people, but that is not always the case. Sometimes they are old and mad at everyone for it. Nothing fancy a small community mall to get things done quick. Winners and Metro are the highlight but then you have dollorama, Kitchen Stuff, and Home Hardware. The Italian barbers are quite good as well. Zeller and then Target both are gone and have created a big vacuum in the mall. Was there some secret plan afoot to clean up all the dumpy malls of my youth? I went to grade school not too far from Cloverdale Mall, and it was pretty run-down. Coming back recently, it's been renovated significantly, and is quite pleasant now as far as mid-sized malls go. The mix of stores is about the same as anywhere else, but there's a big Home Hardware and a Metro (formerly Dominion), which are slightly less common. I was here for a flu shot yesterday, and took my semi-mobile mom; the mix of "customers" was similarly diverse. There were equal parts seniors gamely baring arms as kids freaking out over needles. There was a bit of a lineup, but at least it moved steadily. Also, the experience seemed to be different depending on which flu-shooter you ended up with. My person gave me the whole rundown on the provenance of this year's blend (it's Australian, Uruguayan, and something else), and wrote down the details on the side-effect sheet as a receipt. My mom didn't get any of that, but she got a bandaid over her arm (I didn't). It all evens out. read more

In reality, this place is like a 2-2.5*, but I'll jack it up for some basic renos and that nice lady at Canada Post (inside of Rexall). Honestly, the only reasons why I even step foot here is to check out the Winners IF I'm on my way to/from Kipling Station...and that's about it! Today, I was on my way home, from Kipling, when I wanted to see if Winners had something specific. I also had a parcel to mail and thought to myself, "Gee, the average age for patrons here is Octogenarian status AND they have a Walking On A Cloud, so there MUST be a post office!" and BINGO! There was one located in the Rexall. Saves me a trip! Mall does have low ceilings, but isn't that dumpy. Some renos have been done within the last few years. However, I think I will just always keep parking in the same area, near Winners, my main reason to stop here. read more

I had the worst experience at Metro today. I shop there at least 2-3 times a week. I have never been treated so badly. I have severe asthma and am not able to wear a mask of any kind. I usually use the self check out but now they have a 10 item limit. I went to the very next checkout available. Bid mistake. She immediately asked me where my mask was and I informed her that I had asthma and she asked if I had a puffer. I asked her if she NEEDED to see it and she said as a matter of fact I do. She then asked me if she was the first to ask me where my mask was. I told her as a matter of fact she was. I proceeded to advance my cart and she scanned the items I had at the bottom, she asked me to back away from my cart that my purse was in and I am now standing close to others. She proceeded to scan my items with her left hand, transfer them to her right hand and then toss them on the counter so I can bag them myself stating that she will continue to serve me with her back facing me. She asked me how I was paying and of course I said debit "god forbid I give I you cash" At that point I wasn't even interested in her retort. I thanked her for her stellar customer service and walked away. She was extremely rude and insulting and I did not appreciate the shame. read more

This is the type of mall you go to if you need to go get a quick bite at A & W, buy something at Winners, and then pick up booze at the LCBO all within the same trip if you plan on becoming drunk and wearing that t-shirt that says: Bon Jovi (bought from Winners) later that night. Other than that, there's no real reason to come to this mall if you can really call it a mall. This was also the location that used to have the Target that was only here for a few years before they tanked in the Canadian retail market. I hope they use this vacant spot for something more productive now, like another fitness gym or mud wrestling :) For me, this mall is really an exit sign leaving Toronto as anyone who takes the express rocket TTC bus straight to Pearson Airport, will end up seeing this mall during the highway express route as a reminder that Etobicoke really sucks and where ever you are going to on the flight from Pearson is significantly better. read more

Great mall. It's not as "fashion forward" as other malls such as Yorkdale and Sherway Gardens, but this mall has everything you need. Dollarama, Metro, Winners, Tim Hortons, Second Cup, Coles, Target etc. The food court is nothing special, but I usually just go to the Greek place anyways. read more

Cloverdale is somewhat depressing. The selection of stores is poor, especially since Target left. I'm sure many tenants on the north side were depending on the foot traffic target would generate. As far as I know they haven't managed to find a new anchor tenant on that side. Metro holds down the fort on the south side. During the day it is mostly seniors and teenagers. A somewhat interesting dichotomy. The MTO is there which is convenient. In general if we need to go to a real mall we would just go to Sherway which is nearby. Going to Cloverdale is a mission of necessity. But Sherway we can go just for fun and with no intended need to purchase. Cloverdale isn't nice. It doesn't feel like a place where you can spend the day with the family. read more

The just seen on TV Store I was in it over a week ago. I had the little one with me She grabbed something from the shelf as I was cashing out. I called as soon as I realized. I was almost home she was screaming and crying. Sick and teething. I called and explained the situation. The lady was like ya ok and ? I said listen this is what she took can you please let me pay Visa or Mastercard? She said no. I said ok I would not beable to make it back in, until the Saturday. She said again like ya ok! She didnt seem to care. She was playing on her phone the whole time I was in the store etc. I appoligized once again. The next day she called me and threatened police . I was like what ? I called you and explained the situation and also tried to pay for it over the phone. So anyway I went there Saturday morning as I promised. Chris the manager was there He opened up early for me. They didn't need to scan the item so they could of done it with my card He said well at least it wasnt a Hoover board. He said dont ask. He was amazing but I wont he going back into that store . I enjoy coming here. I always like stopping into Winners, the Metro is good, there's a Second Cup and a bulk store as well as a Laura Secord. EBgames and the Dollar Store are great and if needed I can stop at the LCBO or the Rexall. In my opinion one of the best malls in the area. read more

While this mall won't win any awards for either architecture or trendy stores, it has a good basic mix and a kitchen outlet store (see separate review) . It seems very clean and does not feel at all scary, but compared to the Dufferin mall, it's much more suburban and has a much less local flavour. read more

since target completely missed the Canadian mark, the level of people coming in and out of this mall has gone down immensely, i only come to this mall for the kitchen stuff plus, and/or the sunrise records, Sometimes the metro, but that's like a last ditch moment. the mall is very very clean, with alot of parking, the transit options seem to be lacking a bit, gotta be one of the malls that doesn't have a designated bus terminal(even though Kipling is just down the road) you never see any of the maintenance staff, im not sure why that is, but the mall is pretty spotless. read more

I went into The Source Cloverdale Mall location and a employee there by the name of "Pal" was very rude and unhelpful! With a name like that you would think he would be like a pal... Boy was I wrong! He was the total opposite! If you ever go there be sure to go to another sales associate so you don't ever have to go through the worst customer sales rep EVER!!! I just finished reading a review about cloverdale mall which refers to it as an " old peoples mall ' . I am in my 40's and a dad to 2 teen girls . I think as does most people I know who have lived here for a large part of their lives are thankful for this mall . And as for not finding what you need that is just an out and out LIE .This is the best kept secret in Etobicoke for one thing , and the stores you rymed offare their , but not like the other writer implied . If you took the time to do your own little market survey , you would know the same as target & the rest of us know . This area's homes value from 350 -600,000 dollars . Ready for the best part most of them are owned by those people that other writer refered to as ' OLD PEOPLE ' . It is because of our seniors in the community that made it possible for this area to grow with stability ,.Cloverdale has a dental & doctors Practice in the mall and if you cared to have a look you would find a fashionable waiting area with lots of room & lite . My Girls both go there and had everthing including braces and today they both have wonderful teeth . The accurate review on this mall is that there are many electronic , cell phone , clothing boutiques ,Brand newly remodeled L.C.B.O , scotiabank ,hair salons e.t.c. and too many others to mention. I love Cloverdale Mall and yes it did get a bit tired looking but they have fixed that - the range of stores are wonderful and they have something for every age not just seniors. The Winners is one of the best, my business minded daughter had never found anything in any Winners she went to until we tried Cloverdale and she found 3 different business suits [she is very very fussy]. I love it for it's size as if the mall is too big I feel overwhelmed. I started going to this mall in the 60's with my Mother-In-Law and we both loved it then and I still do, it is a pleasure to go into a mall that is not oversized and also not be worried about getting run over by people, but yet it is always busy the fast food, the LCBO [fabulous] Pharmaplus great and you can even get your licence renewed while you are there. read more
