Disclaimer: this rating is modified to suit the perceived expectations of the typical mall goer as compared to a trip to other malls across the GTA. To be brutally honest ... it's actually a personal favourite - but as something more along the lines of a Public Service Announcement, I'd rather keep the consumer's expectations in check, and maybe let them be pleasantly surprised by what this modest mall has to offer. So. This is definitely a neighbourhood mall as opposed to a Destination Mall like Yorkdale or Square One. You have your No Frills supermarket; your Canadian Tire all purpose goods store; your Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy; and your Hudson's Bay department store, forming the cornerstones. Add to that, some solid amenities like a Fit for Less gym; a full service Pickle Barrel restaurant for your sit down meal and beverage needs; a Dollarama for your dollar store purchases; a full food court with many food outlets to choose from; and plenty of clothing, jewellery, and many more specialty shops to cover most items you might need. The washrooms used to be a dingy affair down in the basement but have been relocated and upgraded to the main floor. Nice improvement! You can also choose from a Tim Hortons takeaway counter, an open area Timothy's, a private company coffee counter, and a pretty nice self contained cafe called Dolce Camerata with its own outdoor patio space for plenty of cuppa Joe and snacks options. One of few remaining Ardene outlet stores is also still here. There are a lot of one-of type clothing stores with tons of low cost items, and a couple of shoe stores. There aren't a lot of chain stores, especially in the toiletries department so don't look in vain if you're hunting for Body Shop or Bath & Body Works items. In fact, you will find very few chain stores here, which is where it will likely fail the more demanding consumer. Great for every day needs. Beware the mall parking, which for some reason is inexplicably difficult to access and navigate in spite of a decent volume of parking spaces. Just don't expect to be wowed, and maybe you'll find a few unexpected, little surprises. read more

Centerpoint Mall - From Timothy's - Shopping Centers Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

I usually come to Centerpoint Mall for Dollarama, Congee Queen and Canadian Tires. Occasionally, I would kill some time by walking around the mall to check out what's new. It's pretty much been the same over the past years, same mom and pop clothing stores, with a food court. I personally really like the shop with all the pretty dresses and handsome tuxedos for kids, they are super cute and very affordable! I would go into One's Better Living to browse around for home items/decors. A little sad that they don't have a legit bubble milk tea shop inside the mall.... just coffee and tea, Real Fruit, and a Freshly Squeeze (which did not open when I went). The newest addition would be K-Food Kitchen, right next to mall entrance #2, selling a variety of kimbab and fried chicken platters! read more

Centerpoint mall is a good mall. It is not so busy. It has good stores. The food course is good shopping centre very good.

I don't visit this mall all that often. It is on my way home from work. A few years ago, I had to take my car in to an auto body shop. I decided to take the bus and spend some time at Centerpoint Mall while waiting for it. It was roughly a ten-minute ride to get to this shopping mall. I was probably at this mall for three hours. Although I didn't buy anything at the Bay, it is a decent store. I liked the selection of clothes and more. I recall waiting for this store to open at 10 am. I ate lunch at the Pickle Barrel. My lunch was yummy (I love spaghetti with meatballs). I enjoyed being there. I went back to this mall recently. Target is long gone. Lowe's is there, instead. There was a store that marketed itself as a patisserie. I think of croissants and French pastries when I see that word. Instead, it was a Chinese bakery. Oddly, I was attracted to the banana bread and not the meat-filled buns. This mall is conveniently located at the southwest corner of Yonge and Steeles Avenue West. You have plenty of transportation options to choose from. A woman asked me that car-waiting day at this intersection where to take the bus to get to York University. I get such questions about directions all the time. I haven't figured out why that is, but I was able to help her out. (225) read more

Really on the low end of your average neighborhood mall... Not much to do..I feel like it's similar to something like a strip mall. It's not the kind of mall you set out to drive to. It's a mall. Well...it's a run of the mill mall. Nothing glamorous, nothing chic. Just a standard mall with a tiny Lowes, the Canadian Tire store, No Frills, bargain stores, unknown stores, a meh Bay...etc. I wouldn't say I would go all the way down there because I wanted to go to Centerpoint. It's a mall of convenience. If I needed something and it's nearby. Otherwise, I'm not going there. I was having lunch in the area and I also needed to buy some shovels for the snow that came down. Canadian Tire it is. Get some salt while I was at it. If you wanted to get something to munch on, they have the usual suspects in the food court, or you can go to Pickle Barrel, Congee Queen or get some Laffa. Way Way Way back it was a good mall. Town&Country Brunch, a movie theatre, and it was sparkling new. I spent a fair bit of time then but not anymore. Maybe they should do a major update like Hillcrest is going through or maybe the demographics is wrong. I did notice that many commuters have been using the parking lot so they can catch the bus to Finch Station - be aware, your car could be impounded if you are caught doing it. Funny thing, if you look at the Centerpoint Logo, it's the same as the Muster Point logo. Maybe because so many people meet there before going off. Centerpoint Mall is a decent Neighbourhood Mall at Yonge and Steeles Area. It is a little out of the way if you are using Subway because you will have to either walk up from Finch Station or take the bus. Most of the people that frequents Centerpoint Mall does drives.. since there is a huge parking lot and never too busy. Most major stores: Canadian Tire, Zellers, The Bay and No Frills makes this a 1 stop shopping for everyday needs. Good selections of lower/mid end clothings and shoes stores. The smaller stores are all standard stores, none of them are really unique or individually owned.. So I can say Centerpoint is another boring shopping place that you can get the things that you need.. but may not be that you really want! read more

Centerpoint Mall is located in the north end of Toronto at Yonge and Steeles. I came here once when I was a little kid; this mall used to be a lot more run down than right now. The mall is indeed small, however it serves its purpose as a neighbourhood mall. It's not a major mall by any means, evidenced by the fact it does not open on stat holidays. In fact, for a neighbourhood mall it has quite a lot of anchors: No Frills, The Bay, Canadian Tire, and Target (RIP) each have the 4 corners of the mall. As the only mall in the Willowdale neighbourhood, it is satisfactory for those who live in the neighbourhood. However for lurkers or tourists, there's honestly nothing too exciting about this mall. read more

Centerpoint these days definitely falls into the category of a second tier "neighborhood" mall, in other words useful if you're nearby but not usually something to make a trip for. Some hidden highlights include an S&H health food store (one of the more useful and better priced franchises of this type). the SA Watches & Jewelery counter (no longer good for service but still has decent selections of older model brand name watches, including Orient) two Major chain restaurants (Pickle Barrell & CongeeQueen) as well as a couple of departures from usual mall food (Dolce Camerata & Pinoy Hub), food court has perhaps the last remaining Caribbean Queen (similar but better than Bourbon Grill) and the Chinese bakery Patisserie Gateau also has a small list of Vietnamese snacks, desserts & coffee which you don't normally see spots of this type. The mall also has what may be the Toronto's last Japan Camera Centre the mere presence of which gives me a nostalgic flashback (although I did find a couple of good multi purpose accessories there a couple of years ago) Centerpoint's No Frills is somewhat better stocked and organized than the average No Frills I used to make a point of coming here between 1999 & 2011 a couple of times a year because the upper level of Bay at this location used to be something of a seasonal clearance spot for menswear & housewares (especially in February) where you could find old stock seemingly dredged out from various other Bays for a fraction of the original price. In recent years this doesn't seem to be the case, it's just a very small Bay with proportionally fewer deals than others. Also gone is the Trendi-For-Men store which used to be my go-to place for cheap, disposable pants & belts. However there are still more independent or odd-ball store here than other major malls so if you like that sort of thing it's worth stopping in for a look if you're in the area. read more

What to sat. They try hard to bring in better clients. Once upon a time with Target being their saviour but they could not even keep themselves in Canada long enough (but that's a different review). This mall is located in a pretty busy part of time but tends to have a hard time pulling in the proper foot traffic. They have a decent food court. Plenty of parking. A tired looking Bay, Canadian Tire, supersized No Frills and the incoming Lowe's. Not much other shops but gets the job done read more

I've seen this mall go through several phases over the years. Back in the day it used to be called Town and Country. Then it was renamed to Centerpoint. Funny because it's spelt the American way instead Centre the Canadian way. It was never a fancy mall to shop at. The oldest stores that remain from what I recall is the Bay and Canadian Tire. Since then it's gone through different renos - it is a mish mash of old and new. It used to have a movie theatre which has now been plastered over. I got my original Atari 2600 with wood trim at the Woolco back in the 80s at this mall. :) What's noteworthy now? There are cell phone kiosks from every single provider here and Conklin (the ones that do the rides for the CNE) setup fairs . Plenty of parking, there's an Heritage Antique Market that recently moved from Bayview Village to here which runs every long weekend. read more

Some improvements to the mall recently. But they at least renovated their washrooms which are now on the main floor beside the food court. There is also a Lowe's now in the space where Target used to be. This is a sleepy area mall. Majority of shops don't open until12pm on Sundays. I don't mind coming here because it's less busy than other malls. Just be aware that the selection here isn't as good as the larger malls. read more

The odd combination of Zellers, No-Frills, the Bay Company and Canadian Tire here as anchors suggests a mall with a severe identity problem. In fact it does seem to have one, as it is located in an area with both upscale and poor communities nearby. On the whole the stores are pretty downscale. including even the Bay, which is one of the smallest I've seen. The Zeller's is also rather small and very grotty looking inside. Did not see much useful (to me, in any case) in the non-anchor stores. Okay if you are in the area and need something, definitely not a dedicated shopping trip destination. read more

This is a very clean, well kept store with a wide selection of products. I went for a vape pen and they were able to match me to the one for my needs. I will be going here again in the future. read more

Average mall. Not high class but not low class either. This is the place to go for anything cellphone related as there are an abundance of cell phone boutiques & carrier stores here. There's a nice eclectic selection of restaurants in the food court but keep in mind it gets very busy during lunch hour due to the nearby school & it's students who flood the food court at lunchtime. read more

I attended the bay today. Was happy w/all the merchandise. Unfortunately some of your staff are so rude...not the first time! I was looking at some merchandise...then all of a sudden a woman goes right in front of me pushing me out of the way she was accompanied by one of your employees"..only saying that she's looking for something ! Okay so does that mean she should push me out of the way. I don't know where you find your staff. Almost encouraging her to do so. This is not acceptable behavior and I was not the only one upset that day another customer seemed to be quite irritated as well. Time to really reform your staff or hire new. There are very few staff that are friendly and helpful in your store. Thanks. read more

I hate writing negative reviews, but I feel like Centerpoint Mall isn't getting any better as a mall. Which is surprising because it's at a busy intersection. However, like one fellow Elite has said, it's a good mall if you're close by and in need of something. It has what I consider essentials: Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire, No Frills, Dollarama, and The Bay. But some of the other shops are, in Melissa-terms, "meh". Oh. And it has a BMO which, if you're a customer is convenient. There's also a Pickel Barrel in the mall, which is ok. Not the best location I've been to in terms of service. The food court is decent, and again, has something for everyone if you're feeling peckish. I've often used this mall as a meeting point to go somewhere else. It's fairly close to Finch Station which is great so I'll often use this mall as a meeting point to wherever else it is that I plan on going to. It does tend to get busy around lunch time because of the high school kids (there's a school next to the mall), and again around the afternoon: 2:30 onwards. I usually try to avoid these times. It's otherwise a decent mall if you're passing through and need something in a pinch. read more

Centerpoint Mall is a shopping mall located at Steeles and Yonge Street. It is home to Canadian Tire, Zellers, The Bay, Shoppers Drugmart and No Frills. The mall also has a Beer Store. Their is an amazing smoothie place as well located in the mall which has the BEST smoothies ever, made with actual real fruit and no added fake stuff... I like the strawberry/Banana smoothie, the place is called tea shop 168 and they have other locations but this is the only one I have found that uses real fruit which I find strange if they have more than one location they should do the same at every location.. read more

Centerpoint mall is far from it used to be 10 years ago! With many different stores appealing to different costumer groups, Centerpoint is down to messy, untidy baazar look. You shop there only because of necessity, not because of preference. It is convenience only for high school students using fairly ok food court and for seniors doing grocery shopping in No frills. That's it! The worst decline you can see is at The Bay...messy look, unorganized clothing lines, piles and piles of merchandise on the floor, unfriendly and useless staff and coffe and smoothie cups all over the store's shelves. Is that the store that you want to spend your money in? Not only that....cheaply made stuff is sold for big bucks as well!!!! I hope that somebody who cares is reading this in order to give our neighbourhood mall back. We deserve better that's for sure. read more

This mall doesn't have much going for it but for some reason, today(Saturday) it was crammed with people, specifically in the food court. It was crazy. I've gone before during the week and its never as busy as it was today. The food court selection is really good considering how bland the mall is overall. McDonald's, taco bell and kfc and Tim Horton's is a nice selection. I usually visit the shoppers drug mart. I went into the trade secrets which seemed pretty empty compared to other trade secret locations. The place right where the yogen fruz is has a special for two small fresh mango Smoothies forn$5 which is a good deal and tastes great. I go here to waste time and will continue to do so. read more

I've never had trouble finding parking at Centerpoint mall, and that's worth noting in Toronto. The No Frills location is probably the best in the city, so that's usually my main reason for shopping here. I wouldn't describe this mall as a major destination for clothing brands, but the anchor store choices are solid for running errands (and I can't think of another mall that includes both No Frills and The Bay!). This is a prime spot of people watching - you'd be hard-pressed to find a more interesting and diverse crowd of shoppers outside of Toronto. I'd avoid using the bathrooms here - they are not in great shape in could use a renovation. The only other drawback is that this is out of subway range if you're taking the TTC; you need to transfer to a bus north of Finch. read more

Was kind of excited to check out one of the very few malls I have yet to visit in all of Toronto. Honestly thought it was a lot bigger. The Bay and Katie are the biggest selling points in my personal opinion. The rest of the stores are kind of no name stores I've never even heard of. No plans in coming back to be honest, was only visiting a friend for lunch at the Pickle Barrel. read more

To be honest it is not much of a mall but rather a very small strip mall. It has a grocery store and a coffee shop which is the only real purpose for this place, however, these are a dime a dozen on the Main Street strip. read more

The store is so-so since it is small and most of the things you cannot find here. The Sales Associate I happen to encounter during my shopping there is exceptional. I did some shopping Dec. 29 and I had pleasure of Natalia L serving me. She is patient and courteous. The other sales associate I asked before are not so interested in showing you things unless you are actually buying something. Natalia took the time and she acknowledges other people on the line up behind me telling them that she will serve them as soon as she is finished with me. They should have more Natalia L in all the Bay Store. These Sales Associates are the front line of the Store and they contribute to the success of the Company. I hope they will recognize people like Natalia L. who works to strive excellence not just for herself but for the company. read more

Took my car for diagnostics as it would not start. After 2 hours was told that the car needs a new starter as they could not do further diagnostics. Told them to ahead if that is hindering them. They changed the starter and still could not come up with a solution. Finally told me that the engine needs replacement. Gave me an estimate of 4000 dollars. I refused to have the engine replaced. They charged me 460.00 for diagnostics and the new starter. The engine in the car is perfectly alright. The mechanic who looked at the car did not know what he was trying to diagnose. Bottom line. They are a bunch of crooks to say the least. I am out of 460 dollars for nothing. Never again to this outlet again. read more

The mall is not so bad. However just an encounter with a staff at the Wireless both. Very rude worker there. He was busy talking to some girl when I walked by with a friend. We stopped to ask him but was rudely attended as he was stand offish and gave us cut eye since we cut him off talking to a girl who was clearly not interested in the product rather than the staff. Sorry for interrupting him while he wasn't doing his job while wearing the uniform and behind the booth clearly on work hours. in Addition he was by himself so he was the only one working and able to attend us. read more

While I applaud Edwins minimal history of Towne & Country Square, now Centerpoint Mall, there is so much more to this mall, history wise, than many would know, unless you have lived in the area for half a century as I have. This mall did not exist when I moved to Bathurst and Steeles in 1963. The only store on that property was Sayvette. A short time later a grocery store was built, can't remember if it was The Power first, or Super City, it was one or the other. The mall was built gradually from Sayvette to the grocery store, then toward what is now Canadian Tire. Back then it was Miracle Mart, not the grocery store, it was a department store. Famous Players was added along with the fountain and a restaurant called, if I remember correctly, Fountain Blue, it was owned by a greek family. The food court was not added until years later. The balance of the mall to the Bay was added in the very late 60's. Sayvette shut it's doors approximately 1975. I worked there for over a year before it closed. They also had a lunch counter, great place, and I worked there as well for a few months before moving to the Record Department. It then became Woolco. From there it went to the SuperCentre, Loblaws, and now of course, NoFrills. The store was a two level store until the SuperCentre took it over and took the second floor out. The Power/Super City, went to Loblaws, which eventually moved to the old Sayvette store. This store went to Zellers, and now Target. Canadian Tire was originally Miracle Mart, a department store where you could buy all the same sort of things, and then some, compared to what most department stores carry today. It closed it's doors sometime in the late 70's early 80's if I recall correctly. The Bay has always been the Bay. The LCBO was right outside Woolco where Payless and Furniture 4 U, or whatever it's called now. This mall has gone through a number of incarnations over the years, but it's still a viable mall, just doesn't have the variety of stores it use to. Which is the case for most malls these days. They are all clothing and shoe stores, very little variety like in the "old" days. I still remember the names of a good deal of the stores in this mall from way back. It is not even close to being as busy as it use to be in by-gone days. During the holidays season, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc..., and on every sidewalk sale they use to have, that place was jammed with shoppers. You couldn't move for people everywhere. For the past 20 years or more, you can shoot a cannon down any isle of this mall and not hit a sole, unless it's a senior with a walker near the Pickle Barrel...;-) As far as it's access is concerned, and unlike another writer wrote, it is NOT a mall you need to drive to. There are plenty of buses from Finch station that will drop you off, almost right outside the mall. A history of some of the original stores, not large ones, I remember, at this point. I'll probably remember more afterward... These are in no particular order. 1) Jaytho Fashions 2) Sam The Record Man 3) Reitman's 4) Danforth Radio 5) Japan Camera Centre 6) Boheima's (this was a linen store, in fact, I believe the owners of this store now own Furniture 4U, at least I've seen the husband of this team in that store a few times) 7) Smart Set 8) Darby's 9) Bata Shoes 10) Bank of Montreal 11) Bonita Shoes 12) Fairweather's (yes, they were there again recently) 13) Convenience/smoke shop, can't remember the name right now, but they had everything 15) Women's Bakery 16) Famous Players 17) A Trust Company I can't remember the name of now, it was located where the jewellery store is on the south east corner near where the fountain use to be. Lord I miss that fountain! 18) Hallmark, use to be located where the Jewellery place and the Sushi place is now located. 19) A key place where you could get keys done, located just south of Hallmark. It was there for eons. Yes, you can get keys made at the other Jewellery counter as well, but it wasn't there back at that time. 20) Shoe repair shop, down the hallway leading to outside near the current smoke shop counter by People's Jewellers. Not the one that is near Target. Completely different shop. 21) A store in the isle toward the Bay where you could buy scarfs, hats, little Chinese flat black shoes, and a host of other Oriental items. Can't remember the name of it, but it was there for years. 22) St Clair Paint and Wallpaper That's it for now.
