When I'm in Tulsa overnight for work, I make sure to stop by Yokozuna for a late lunch or an early dinner. I usually sit at the bar where you can order anything from the menu. They have happy hour specials from 2pm to 6pm (I think it ends at 6pm). The happy hour specials include almost half off certain appetizers and sushi rolls. I like coming here because the staff is always very nice and the food is delicious. I also like their big selection of Japanese whiskeys. It's rare to find Japanese whiskey in Oklahoma so it's refreshing for Yokozuna to offer it. read more

I didn't get any pictures of the cocktails unfortunately, but both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed them! We got the sriracha chicken steamed buns, which were delicious. I got the Hot Mess roll and my boyfriend got the Flaming Volcano. Both were great and I'd recommend either of them. I will say, I felt that the Hot Mess roll was on the small side at only 6 pieces, especially for the price. Our waitress was amazing and made the experience even more amazing. We got there at 5:30 on a Friday and it was already packed, so I'd definitely suggest a reservation. read more

This is where the party's at! Just come here! Uber cool people, very nicely polished, enjoying very satisfying sushi & cocktails! Although the restaurant was packed on a Friday night, we were able to be seated right away. Our light teasers before the meal were the edamame and miso. The service was a bit slowww, I understand the place was busy, but I felt our appetizers should have been served within the 15 minutes of ordering, especially if it's edamame and miso! As entrees, I thought I'd try the Roll and Gift, which had a "kick" from the jalapeño and the sriracha, but I felt the roll was small in size...It was lacking the "fill your mouth with awesomeness" that I so much wanted...We also ordered the 10 pc Sashimi Combo, deliciously fresh as expected...but the super star of the show was the Flaming Volcano! That was off. the. hook! Crab, chipotle cream sauce, jalapeño, tempura fried, etc etc...all that goodness, with the perfect kick of spiciness that I needed to be in yummyland! There are so many things that I'd like to try when I make it back to Kansas, oh I mean Tulsa...This place is worth coming back to. And how about that bar menu?? Minus my 4 year old, hell yeah. read more

Always good. We get the Sumo roll and Tulsa Driller roll as well as the Nutty Professor and Volcano rolls. Good stuff!

Decent sushi if you're if that's what you're in the mood for in Tulsa. It's pretty busy so try to make reservations prior to going. Had the Thai nutty professor which was decent. Would go back to try different items on the menu! Ps more of a 3.5 stars but didn't have that option read more

It's pretty good for Tulsa sushi, but it's not going to blow your mind by any means if you've had really good sushi before. But I think locals with limited experience will really enjoy it. The ambiance is great. I would definitely recommend getting the cocktails, as they were my favorite (tastiest) part of the meal, and for folks like me who have a little more sushi experience, that little something something will take your mind off comparing against other big city (or Japan/southeast Asia-based) sushi experiences read more

***Yokozuna is my go-to place in Tulsa when I want a hot bowl of ramen*** This is by far my most favorite sushi/ramen place in Tulsa. Whenever I visit this place, I always want to order pork belly ramen. The portion is huge and they do it right. My co-workers are big fan of their ramen bowl too. Another favorite item from Yokozuna is pupu platter. Just a warning that the portion is huge. We had 4 people and we couldn't finish the size supposed for 3-5 people. I really like their tempura-styled sweet potato fries. This item is a must when you visit Yokozuna. The only item I didn't like here is miso soup. I was not impressed with the soup and feel like it came out of package. Other than that, I highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

My favorite sushi place. Ever!! Tell everyone I know if they are interested in sushi, this is worth the drive and money.

Yokozuna is a popular sushi joint in downtown, and for the most part popular for a good reason. They serve a variety of sushi and cocktails including ramen and sake bombs. We decided to try their Punch Bowl for 2, which was very sweet where we could not even taste the alcohol. We also had a Spicy Yellowtail Roll, which was fresh and delicious but not as spicy as we thought. We also tried the Hot Mess specialty roll, which we thought was good but contained too much imitation crab for the size. The wasabi was surprisingly not spicy enough so we asked for more. The ginger was adequate as a palate cleanser. I heard great things about their ramen from other people, which we might try next time we come back. read more

Had a wonderful meal at Yokozuna in Tulsa! It came recommended from a friend and did not disappoint! We waited about 20 minutes for a party of 4. We ordered the miso soup (yum!), gyoza, seaweed salad, Thai street noodles and a few sushi rolls. The Thai street noodles were super good, enough to share with 2 people (we subbed chicken). The Flaming Lips sushi roll was very good, I would definitely order again! It was spicy, but not TOO spicy, just right. We also got a California roll with masago as well as a shrimp tempura roll. Both were great! Service was also top notch. Willow helped us, and was incredible! We will definitely be back. read more

Yoko. This is the international (by international, I mean tulsan) text for Yokozuna. Just the very thought of coming here or the idea of "yoko" right now makes my mouth water. This is my number one in my top three sushi places in town. I recommend "the Hot Mess." They also have a large selection of drinks to choose from the menu including saki. I love the ambience and if you sit by the window you will have a radiant view of downtown. They have a happy hour that offers selected sushi half price and well as appetizers. Yes!! Downfall- I always bear in mind that there is a slight wait for the food, even if you have already been seated. Go there and have drink, relax with friends and munch on edamame while you wait. The soup is great as well. read more

Yokozuna - The sushi bar is perfect when you are flying solo. - Japanese Near Me - Tulsa, Oklahoma

A pretty cool little place. The staff was attentive and curtious; very prompt. The items were a bit limited and expensive for what it is. The sushi quality was pretty good overall. The cuts had some loose connective tissue that made it a bit difficult to eat with chop sticks though. I wouldn't mind going back to this place again, but it really didn't standout over any other sushi establishment in the midwest. Nice walk to the hotels in the downtown area though. read more

We order through door dash and ate at our hotel. Service was very good. I actually called ahead to add a special request for an order before ordering on door dash because the app wouldn't allow a modification. They were more than gracious and made the modification to our order. The food was so good and so comforting. I got the pork belly ramen with soy egg (cooked to a perfect soft creamy yolk) and fish cake. The pork belly was generous and flavorful. The broth comes separate as a pour over. It was lacking a little in the flavor. I have had some pho and ramen broths that are a punch mouth with flavor and depth. The pork belly steam buns are a definite pass. A lot of steam bun for a small single sliver of pork belly (think thick cut bacon slice). The pork belly was also dry, probably due to the small size giving it a small surface area. Now the other items we got like the sweet/sour chicken and multiple different sushi rolls were very good. read more

The booths in the bar area are for small butts only. :( Kind of uncomfortable and pretty close to your neighbors. If you're on a date, request to sit somewhere else. The seating is limited but they offer small tables, a few booths, banquet seating in the bar area, sushi bar seating, and bar seating. I imagine this place is a nightmare on weekend nights, or any time something is going on at the PAC. Overall I enjoyed the sushi rolls, the Hot Mess being the favorite (cream cheese, jalapeño, imitation crab, all fried and covered with a mix of imitation crab and spicy tuna; then topped with eel sauce and a fried wonton chip). The chicken steam buns are super delicious when the buns are steamed just right. Service is hit or miss so don't go here if you're in a hurry. The meal always ends on a funny note though with the fortune cookie messages. The first one I got there said on my next visit I could rock/paper/scissors my server for a free appetizer. I took them up on it and I won! read more

I can't understand the lackluster reviews because my visit was outstanding. The place is neat! Funky tables made from rough logs, exposed beam ceilings and brick walls gives a cool and industrial appeal. The bar and dining room are lit to the proper mood and man my seat by the window was spectacular! It was even warmer that I expected in the cold windy night of my visit. The staff was fabulous! From the Host to my FANTASTIC waitress to the food runner all top shelf and superlative! The Sushi options are ample and fairly priced however I opted for an appetizer and some noodles. Portion and presentation were spot on, I was impressed and can clearly see it's all house made, Top Job Chef and kitchen staff! This place is a gem and I'm glad I visited! read more

We made a quick stop for a small bite to eat while in Tulsa for some business. We shared an appetizer, a signature sushi roll, and some house dressed nigiri. The steamed buns with the Siracha chicken were tasty and the freshly made pickles paired perfectly to balance the slight heat with some cool. The Fresh Prince sushi roll was fresh, with earthy but smooth creamy flavors. Again the cucumbers on the plate stole the show, contrasting the flavors nicely for renewed tastes with each bite of sushi. To round out things an order of ebi shrimp nigiri and an order of yellowtail nigiri was added. Both were good but the yellow tail offered a lot more flavor whereas the shrimp was a little dry and flat. I've been here often and the service is always efficient. It's not the easiest to ask wait staff questions about menu items since it's usually packed and they're pressed for time. We dropped in outside of typical mealtimes and still yet nearly every table in the front two sections were filled. My favorite menu item is the poke bowls because of the variety of options available versus the very limited options where I live. The food is great here and I think it's a popular spot in the Blue Dome District for good reason. read more

We got food from them over the weekend, over 80$ and it was so disappointing. I've been there before and it was good, ya know like commercial sushi with fancy drinks. And maybe it's because we ordered at lunch time but I suggest people support smaller more authentic sushi joints. Overpriced and underwhelming. Service at both locations was also lacking. And I've been when it's busy and slow... no difference. read more

My go-to sushi spot in Tulsa with my go-to rolls (nutty Thai professor, hot mess, volcano and basic spicy rolls), and they're consistently great. The drink selection is very good as well. And if you're with a small group and you're all pretty hungry, start off with the pupu platter, which is a sampler of the appetizers. Everything on it is delicious, but get the chicken buns instead of pork. And definitely try the sweet potato fries in the peanut sauce. So yummy! Do not, however, put any of the food over the open flame thingy. It's just for looks, and it will stink up the restaurant if you do. The restaurant is busy on the weekends, so make reservations, or prepare to wait. Also, they have happy hour sushi rolls and appetizers every day from 2-5pm, which is totally worth the awkwardly timed lunch/dinner. read more

let me start by saying that yoko is my most favorite sushi place. or was. i don't know. i eat here way more than anyone probably should. for a while, i was ordering the same thing like 2-3 times a WEEK. i also work late. i get off at 8. so yoko was my go to dinner because i can get home, change, place my order online or over the phone by 9-9:30, get there in 8 minutes, and leave before 9:45. UNTIL TODAY. I call them -- kid you freaking not --four mins after 9:30. which has never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever been an issue EVER!! and listen i have worked in the food industry. i know that i know that i know it isn't hurting a soul to place a to go order thirty minutes before closing, especially on a monday night. especially when i walk in and see plates being delivered to a party of four seated outside. (yes i did drive over there. made it in 7 mins flat) i knew they were not going to do the order. i was mainly extremely tempted to look the waiter in the eye and say, "so if i sit down right now, you'll make the food??" it really seemed that way. but I'm not unreasonable. i did not do that. but apparently i could have sat down at like 9:50 and gotten the food I'd been waiting all day to have, but god forbid i place a pickup order thirty whole minutes before they close. fair warning to travelers or anyone looking to move here: TULSA IS NOT A WORK LATE FRIENDLY CITY!!! it's an alcoholic friendly city, but if you have a job and get off pretty much anytime after 6-7 on a weekday, you can expect nothing but endless fast food. back to yoko being my favorite sushi place. it is up in the air. the food is good do not get me wrong but i am extremely dismayed that yet another one of my favorite restaurants is cutting off their pick up order times. they missed out on a fat tip rant over do better read more

This place is right on the corner of two busy streets in downtown Tulsa, and if you can find a place to park (which is easy, most days), then it's a great place to stop in for some chef's choice sushi rolls (seriously, follow their recommendation) or thai green curry. Those are my favorites, although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The seating is nice and open, and it gives you that exposed brick I-know-I'm-gonna-love-this-sushi feel when you sit down and order a few rolls. If you're downtown for a meeting, a parade, or St. Patrick's day, Yokozuna's downtown location is probably one of the best options for sushi. read more

We always sit at the bar so we can talk with some of the chefs. Logan is my personal favorite, he always creates the best sushi plates and sashimi salads for us! The drinks are average, nothing special. We really liked our server, she was very laid back and gave us our space, which we appreciate as my friend and I haven't seen each-other in a little over a year! If you're here with a group of friends, convince them to order and share the pupu platter- edamame (steamed and salted soybeans in their pods), gyoza (pan fried and steamed dumplings), mini steamed buns with pork or chicken, pork egg rolls, and tempura sweet potatoes. Please try not to inhale the latter- these are not French fries- they are thick cuts of sweet potatoes dipped in a light tempura batter and fried golden and crisp. It comes with a wasabi aioli (similar to mayo) and a soy dipping sauce, but ask for some of their peanut sauce; you'll be glad you did. Try their green curry- full of veggies- you can add protein for a little extra but I definitely don't miss the protein from the delectable curry!! Or go for their sweet and sour- tempura battered chicken in a housemade sweet and sour sauce. This is not the bright red stuff you get at fast food Chinese places- this is a yellow orange color and very flavorful. I highly encourage you to pay the little extra and get their fried rice instead of brown or steamed white. read more

Great food and the bar had excellent service. We didn't have a reservation so they let us eat at the bar.

The cocktails were the best part of the meal! The spicy ramen had a nice thick cuts of pork belly. However, the broth was a little lacking. For our pupu platter they didn't have any spring rolls so we got extra dumplings. Everything was tasty especially the tempura sweet potatoes but we felt like the whole platter as a whole wasn't worth $20 as there was so little dumplings/buns and so much edamame. We got the happy hour sushi and everything was worth the price. The staff was super nice and our waitress was very friendly/helpful. read more

First time coming here on a Friday night, luckily with a reservation since it was pretty busy. Group of 5 got 7 different rolls and a sweet & sour chicken for nails with the pork belly buns and edamame for appetizers. The waiter was kind enough to cut the 3 pork buns in half so we could all share without needing to order two. Appetizers and drinks were served quickly and the sushi rolls arrived all around the same time, except for the sweet & sour chicken which came much later. Overall, enjoyed the experience the rolls are unique and all tasted FRESH. There were plenty of other dishes available for those who didn't want sushi and I want to come back and try their noodle and rice dishes. The sangria with white wine was a nice cocktail compliment and sweet enough, the sparkling would've been too sweet. A good spot for date night, birthday dinners and happy hour from 2-5! read more
