Staff was very professional on busy days like the buy one get one promotional day. The line moved relatively fast and was overall organized even when they had to call the Fire department to check out a problem (the shop started smelling like gasoline). I have been reviewing frozen yogurt (fro-yo) places around the SF bay area, and this place has modern decor and EIGHT machines with twist. 8 machines + twist = 24 flavors. I picked a sample of various flavors.....choco/vanilla twist, mango, coconut, and Irish mint. The mint was very good. Toppings counter is self service. The two cashiers were very friendly and enthusiastic. Price= 72 cents per ounce. (March 2024) So my order weighed 9.3 oz - 0.6 (tare), charged $6.70. (tare is the weight of the cup) When they ask if it's for here or to-go, always say "to-go." Some places charge more for "dine-in" orders in the form of a service fee. I was having a tart yogurt craving so decided to check this place out along with Menchie's in the same weekend. Comparing the two, Yogurtland is more expensive at $0.81 vs Menchie's $0.77 but they have different flavors so depending on your preferences you might go to one over another. Always wish these places had more tart fruity flavors but I did really like their mango flavor. Specific to my experiences I had approximately the same amount of yogurt at each place and somehow my bill ended up being substantially more expensive at Yogurtland vs at Menchie's even taking the price differential into account. The only thing I can really attribute that to is that the cashier must have weighed my froyo when I was putting a lid on my froyo cup (and pushing down on the machine) because the price differential was more than 1.5x which doesn't make sense considering the quantity of froyo was very similar. I'm not sure if the cashier wasn't paying attention or if the machine is just made to take the highest weight but it was quite frustrating to realize I had been overcharged so much. Overall I would probably go to Menchie's in the future since it's literally right across the street and I still like classic flavor the best which both have. read more

Felt like a small treat this weekend and it's been a while since we've been to Yogurtland. So off to Yogurtland we went. L O C A T I O N Yogurtland Fremont is situated on the corner of Mowry Ave. and Fremont Blvd. It's in a very small plaza with a Goodwill and other small shops. The parking area is small but we easily found a spot in their private lot. I N T E R I O R There's a small area for seating. There were several groups inside enjoying their treat. There were also many folks outside just hanging out eating their frozen yogurt. E X P E R I E N C E If you park from the private lot, you enter through the back where there's a bathroom and narrow hallway to the front of the place. You encounter a table with plastic gloves and a sign to make sure you use their hand sanitizer and then pick up the gloves. Unfortunately their hand sanitizer is actually away from the gloves, so if you're not looking for it, you'll skip the hand sanitizing. The hand sanitizer is on the side of the cups and you have to press it. It's not automatic. I saw many folks skip hand sanitizing and just grabbed gloves. Perhaps having a hand sanitizer on the same table as the gloves would be a better option if they're wanting folks to go through their safety protocol. As many Yogurtlands, you have several paired flavors of self dispensed frozen yogurts. I don't know if there were sample cups available. Due to the amount of folks there, we opted not to hold up the line nor be in the location for too long. They had all the toppings (fruits, candy, etc.) that I would typically get (slivered almonds, mochi, cookie dough, mini yogurt chips, mini choco chips, etc.). S E R V I C E Truly only service really happened at the end for us when paying. She was quite friendly and ensured we got our points for Yogurtland Rewards as their bar scanner was not working so they had to manually enter in your phone number. Also she made sure we got our Yelp discount for checking in. O V E R A L L Your pretty typical Yogurtland. Smaller footprint and a bit busy when we came. If implementing some kind of safety protocol, I would hope they would make it more successful for their patrons. I topped it off with popping boba and cheesecake bites. My cup came out to a whopping $8, HAHA! So worth it though. I really like Yogurtland frozen yogurt because it tastes natural and is not overly sweet. It tastes like the actual flavor of the fruit or dessert they're trying to replicate. This location has always been relatively clean and the staff is always nice to me. I never had a problem. I honestly don't understand all the negative reviews on this place though. Grab a cup, get your yogurt, pay, and leave. Yeah, I can understand the business hours not being accurate and possible food poisoning. I get it. But if you come into a place that is SELF SERVE and knowing FULL WELL that you have dietary issues and absolutely cannot take the risk of cross contamination, DO NOT COME HERE? Can anyone *dislike* Yogurtland? Definitely worth a solid 4 stars during normal times, though giving 3 right now because I think COVID precautions are more lax than would be ideal. The actual measures in place are okay, but could mainly be enforced better. The shop offers gloves & 6ft apart markers, but they really didn't enforce the 6ft thing when I was there. For example I was waiting to pay (thus blocking the toppings area) and the family behind me was actively encouraged to come look at toppings, getting a bit too close for comfort in the process. Big sigh. I've also been here before COVID though and regular operations are solid; just a typical Yogurtland with self-serve fro yo/toppings and paying by weight--always went smoothly for me! As for the actual yogurt, it's great. I've never thought of Yogurtland yogurt as *the best* (e.g. prefer Pinkberry) but it's still super good. Couple of favorites are the mango tart and the rocket pop sorbet--such a classic summer flavor. TL;DR: great convenient spot to grab some typical frozen yogurt when you're feeling it! Thank god Yogurtland is open during the quarantine when Menchie's isn't! Shoutout to the blond haired staff member who was super friendly and made getting yogurt during the quarantine a smooth and painless process. I could tell she was trying her best to make things work and her patience shined through her actions! I thank the staff and management here for taking the virus seriously here. I don't think I would've stepped in if employees weren't wearing masks/etc. Thanks for the great service. Yogurtland is always very greatly equipped with all the right toppings and I have nothing to complain about there. The only gripe I have sometimes is that the flavors seem just a tad bit repetitive, but I don't think there's much the staff can do about that. I had extra high hopes for the blueberry lavender because those are two of my favorite flavors, but they tasted a little too artificial to me and almost reminded me plain berry yogurt. I don't know why I was thinking of the more artisanal flavors when I'm at a convenient yogurt place...but a girl can dream, haha! Yogurtland is a chain I can always trust to get things right.
