We drove 25 mins in traffic from Downtown San Diego to get here because of their BOGO promo. Note: you have to print out their coupon because they don't take digital ones! Also bring cash because they don't take cards. This is the sort of place that I can imagine bringing my future children to. Kids and adults alike would love their HUGE serving. We only got the third largest option which could be easily shared by two people. It was $6 however I believe I added $2.75 for picking two toppings. I highly recommend the vanilla froyo because I loved it so much! The cheesecake bites were also a good addition. Value for money and taste is a 5/5! read more

Service is usually pretty good. This is a no frills establishment, so don't come expecting trendy flavors or toppings, but what they do have is consistently good. This is such a hidden gem. I heard about this place and drove over 30+ minutes to try it. The exterior is adorable and super prominent. I like how cheap the prices are for the big servings. The inside is super small and crowded, but the workers are efficient. I like how the flavors change every day. I got a baby size of raspberry pomegranate, vanilla, and coconut with brownie bits and cookie dough. The baby size comes with three flavors and two toppings. I can't believe it was only $5.30. Love the yogurt but they are not allergy friendly. They use the same scooper for all the dry toppings therefor causing cross contamination. We have a gluten allergy and got very sick. It would be awesome if they could use toppings from a different area with a different scooper so that everyone can enjoy their food. Also, so much time is spent with the employees chatting and flirting with people that the lines are horribly long like over an hour long in the direct sun. RACIST EMPLOYEE!Love the yogurt but the customer service i received today was bad. I arrived around 3:20 pm and a woman was finishing her order, and requested to try the blueberry pomegranate. I asked the same representative for a sample he said nothing and didn't even look at me. The woman pays and I ask again he ignores me and walks away. He came back to the front I asked a 3rd time and he ignored me again. The shorter younger gentleman came from the back took and placed my order. An El Cajon institution. Quality yogurt with exspansive amount of toppings. Highly recommend coming here over the overpriced pay-per-weight competitors. Sure, they're businesses look prettier but the Mill beats them ounce for ounce. Tip: my family has been printing out the classic buy one get one free coupon you can find online and getting 2 (sometimes 4) child-sized yogurts and then having that as dessert for weeks. It used to be 4.10 for a child, now it's up to 7.60. Other tip: ask for it dropped (placed in another larger cup) if you'd like to save all the yogurt for later or reduce spillage in the car when eating it on the way home. Another other tip: I like asking for a dropped cup and then asking for the original size's lid so I can eat the top part of the yogurt and freeze the rest instead of using plastic wrap to cover it up. read more

The strawberries are the syrupy kind or perfect or the type for ice cream toppings.. basically I'm saying not the plain fresh fruit type. When it's blazing hot head over here to get the froyo version of The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Bostonia. I got the cone and they serve up a tall leaning tower of whatever flavor you want. The cones are thick and sturdy to withstand the tower of froyo. They change the flavors frequently and post what flavors they will have and the dates those flavors will be available so check their socials for details. Some tell me they have coupons frequently circulating so that's also nice. This leaning tower of froyo has been around for over 40 yrs. Bless their froyo hearts. Thank goodness they didn't fall victim to covid. What a treat for a hot summer day. The cone was the smallest serving I believe and that is plenty for one person. They do have toppings if you opt for froyo in a cup. There's always a line but it moves quickly even with the covid protocol in place. They are taking phone orders and IG orders which is nice. Can't believe I finished the leaning tower of nonfat Pomegranate and Blueberry and didnt feel bloated. Their froyo is silky smoothe and didn't melt into a puddly mess. I liked the slight tart and tang of the pomegranate and the light sweet notes of blueberry. Nice combo. I came coz I seen they offered Blueberry but when I ordered I seen it was paired with pomegranate which was a nice surprise. Nice trifecta of health benefits happening here. A poignant and beautiful memory from my childhood, returning back to Yogurt Mill was a treat I was excited to savor and see if it was as good as I remembered it being. The good news is that the flavor exceeded my expectations: there aren't too many options here, the with some excellent variations such as the chocolate milkshake flavor which I personally ordered and enjoyed along with the peanut butter yogurt, but all of the flavors are strong excellent options. It tastes fresh and refreshing, not being too overpowering with any of its flavors, allowing it to blend well with other potential combinations. The staff members were excellent, both in their demeanor and with their generosity with servings. The only truly glaring issue with yogurt mill is an admittedly difficult one to overlook: they only except cash, no exceptions. Though it's good that they have signs all along the front of the store indicating this so you don't receive a huge surprise at the time of payment, it is still an inconvenience. There are plenty of other smaller locals businesses that, while they prefer cash instead, are still willing to take card payments as well; this is some thing that Yogurt Mill should likewise be emulating. There was an ATM machine next-door, but it charges you three dollars to pull money and I don't see every potential patron who comes to Yogurt Mill wanting to make that sacrifice, even for excellent yogurt. On a lesser note, adding any mix-ins is fairly pricey for what you get. My advice: stick with just frozen yogurt for here, go to Yogurt Express if you want lots of mix-ins. Overall, returning to this historic location for frozen yogurt was an excellent experience, though unless Yogurt Mill learns it's lesson soon, be prepared to bring cash if you want to sample any of its offerings. read more
