First time my family and I've been here. It's not a big as other yogurt places we been too. But it was one our best experience. It's so nice and clean and organized. The toppings are all nicely put In little closed up containers that makes it so nice and easy for my kids to enjoy the amount they like all over their ice cream. They serve is awesome. I was so thankful. My blood sugar was going low. And the service gentleman seen that I had put a bigger amount of tip that i may have not have meant to put in the tip jar. Standard yogurt shop, but the price per ounce is lower than others (.38). Staff is just staff, there is nothing special there. There are different sized cups, and about 10 different flavors. I tried about half of them, and I liked all of them, but a few were a little sweet. My favorite was probably the pomegranate one...it's slightly icy and not as creamy as the other flavors. We love Yogurt Express! There's always a variety of tasty flavors. Something for everyone to be happy with. They have a nice variety of toppings as well. The young men working behind the counter are always friendly and helpful. My only complaint is how often I have to hear my kids say "can we get fro-yo tonight?" I love this frozen yogurt spot, I've been here three times so far! It has great rotating flavors and a lot of toppings to choose from. I use to frequent Golden Spoon but they're customer service was slipping so I found another location close by! I love the mint flavors (that's my favorite) and I love the fact that you are able to bring in your own containers to fill, I haven't tried that yet but will soon. The woman who works the front is very sweet and was welcoming when I came in, she set me up with a stamp card and made sure I knew how this place worked (rotating flavors that you can check out on IG or Facebook, and that we are able to bring in our own containers if we wanted). "That yogurt place" is our family name for Yogurt Express. We go pretty often and I recommend you give it a try. The parking lot has only about 10 spaces with each about 12 inches too narrow. Two excellent parking spots are behind near the dumpster. The self serve yogurt machines are on the back wall with three sizes of styrofoam cups on the wall to the right. Price at checkout is determined by the weight of your cup. You don't need permission to get started. Walk right on back to the cup dispenser, pull one out and start making your own yogurt. The machines dispense about eight flavors, some fat free, with labels showing flavors. You are free to fill the cup with any or all flavors, mix & blend to your hearts content. Fill it about half full then pack the yogurt by holding it about two inches above the counter and dropping the cup on it's bottom. Repeat a couple of times. This technique allows the yogurt to settle into the cup. About 20 toppings are available for self serve on the right of the store. Pick one or more to sprinkle or go back and forth between the yogurt and toppings during the fill process to get a fully mixed blend. Now go to the register and put a clear plastic dome top onto the cup. Place the cup on the scale. If you are a repeat customer show the man behind the counter your Yogurt Express 20% off card and give him your "buy 10, get one free" to punch. If you don't have these cards and they don't offer them you should ask. Pay the man. There are a couple of tables and chairs both inside and out front. Enjoy. read more

This is a pretty basic frozen yogurt shop. Don't come in here looking for mochi, tart flavors, or fresh fruit toppings. There's no seating inside or outside. If you're looking for super friendly and courteous service, there's a competitor down the street, I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about. Now all of that said, this is the place to come if you want good yogurt for a reasonable price. It's self serve here. It looks the same since they opened, but they keep the prices lower than other shops so get over the lack of frills. The toppings here are mostly candy and cookie related, but this doesn't phase me because I'm not really into them anyway. My kid, of course, is a fan! They have a website you can check to see in advance what the daily/weekly flavors will be. They always have peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla everyday. They also have a flavor board in the store that lists the weekly flavors. There is always one no sugar added flavor available. While this is not my go-to spot for yogurt, it is a nice option for inexpensive yogurt to go. It's a good choice for families. It's kid friendly. I definitely crave a more tart yogurt, but this is a nice option for my my son. read more

I've come here several times since I've been living around this area. They always have a great selection of flavors and list them on their website so you don't have to call in and ask what they have for the day. They have a wide array of toppings to add to your self serve yogurt and leave the sample cups out for people so they can sample as much as they please. That might be a bad thing though, as I see people getting two samples of the same thing, kinda weird. None the less, at 32 cents per ounce, it seems to be a solid price for great yogurt. read more

The yogurt is okay. But I noticed two things that are completely related to one another, and signs of a vicious cycle. 1.) The workers here don't work. There was a middle age lady with a bunch of tattoos that was just looking at her phone when she could've been cleaning. 2.) Once you get close up, this place is dirty. Yogurt splashes dried onto the trash can. Built up residue in the drip trays under where the fro-yo comes out. The "fresh" fruit toppings? The strawberries looked like the last time they were fresh was when Will Smith was the Fresh Prince. In your downtime, sweep. Mop. Wipe windows. Wipe down trash cans. Clean counters. It's not that hard. Offer fruit that was cut this century. I can imagine customers getting sick from the lack of cleanliness, which stems from the lack of work ethic. read more

I just found out about Yogurt Express on Yelp, and OMG i've been missing out. The yogurts were all so yummy. I loved the strawberry and the cake mix. and i loved that they have the diet friendly Wow Cow flavors, with 40 calories for 4 ounces. I will definitely be back for those. I cannot believe the yogurt was only 24 cents an ounce, that's the cheapest I've ever seen. This is by far the best establishment for self service frozen yogurt. I am a die hard yogurt express gal. Not only is the price point stellar. They have a frequent buyer card so I'm always getting free yogurts. But my most enjoyable aspect of it is the topping bar; from Carbo chips to captain crunch there is almost every topping imaginable avaliable. Not to mention the service is always pretty average but never horrible. The place can be a little packed depending on the night but it is totally worth the crowd even on the busiest night. read more

Everything here is self-serve. You don't even have to ask for sample cups! Their yogurt flavors can be checked out on their website since some of their flavors change daily. I felt that some of their yogurts were too melty though. It's always a process of eliminations for me when it comes to yogurt lol. I ended up with their peanut butter, chocolate, and a bit of their Butterfinger yogurt. My bf chose the pineapple one, but they didn't have any fruit toppings for him. :( It would be nice if they had a place to enjoy your yogurt though. This place used to be really good but now it's soo expensive for the portions you get- toppings are all pre-packaged so you don't get to choose how much you want and they weighed each topping container too. So you end up getting too much of one topping for a high price since they charge per ounce, which is already steep. I gave 2 stars because they are the only yogurt place open late. Yogurt mill instead is a great option and bang for your buck with the large portions and loong list of toppings! I always leave satisfied there. read more

Frozen yogurt is something that is exclusively delicious and abundant on the West Coast. When I moved to San Diego a few years back, a chummy friend took me to my first fro-yo experience here at Yogurt Express. I experienced what many call a "foodgasm" and vowed to return to fill up my yogurt card with adorable little stamps that would later yield a free cup of sugary goodness. What I didn't know when I was eating my very first helping of Yogurt Express fro-yo is that this was the very best of San Diego. Great self-serve yogurt at REALLY great prices. This is the least expensive yogurt shop I have seen at only 29 cents an ounce. They don't have as many flavor selections as others, but the flavors they do have are great (especially the peanut butter). The "yogurt" itself is more like soft serve ice-cream. I'm pretty sure it is not as low-calorie as other yogurt shops. The chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cup had actual chocolate pieces in them, I've never seen that at a self-serve yogurt shop. Super yummy and super cheap! read more

Nice little post Cowles hike treat. There are a few pros and cons about the place though (I've never really listed it this way in a review, but it's the best way to describe it here). PROS: - It's FroYo! - They have every chocolate topping you could ever want. - Butterfinger is a flavor here! - .34 per oz - They accept credit cards. - Nice people. Okay nothing is really too yogurt related, but I'm trying my best here because I really want to like this place, but seriously.. I have to agree with Dulce R. and say that their flavors are way too sweet. They don't have a plain tart option which I think is a staple at any frozen yogurt shop. Very cheap, very good, very accessible. And the yogurt is top-notch. Fro yo is a very dicey proposition from store to store, I've found, but this place lives up to the Yelp hype. It was a great capper to the heavy and sauced beyond belief barbecue dinner from the Western BBQ place across the street from this place. I learned from the last time I got fro yo in Upland that it's better to go smaller than the large cup and went with the medium one, put in a chocolate swirl and Butterfinger yogurt with peanuts and coconut. The Butterfinger yogurt was interesting, but very good. I'll have to get more of that another time. I really love the prices of this place. The one thing I'd demerit is the fact that there are no chairs or tables for anyone to enjoy the yogurt there at the place. Khann and I had to eat the yogurt in his car, then get rid of it right there. The fro yo place I went to before this one in Upland had music blaring, tables and chairs with a variety of games to play besides the consumption of yogurt. This place is meh.. They don't a great variety of flavors. Personally, they are all way to sweet. It's like sugar overload. They don't offer any tart flavors and only one sugar free. Toppings are ok. Mainly cookies and cereal type stuff. No fresh fruit at all- sad face. They have strawberries covered in syrup, huge disappointment. No seating is available. Was craving some frozen yogurt and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I got a mixture of banana, chocolate, and vanilla. All of the flavors were very good but I wish the banana flavor was a bit stronger. There's a decent selection of toppings available. If you're looking for fresh fruit toppings this place is not it. I didn't recall seeing any fruit, except for shredded coconut. But it didn't matter to me because I wasn't looking to be healthy tonight lol. I used to frequent this shop for years when I lived a few blocks away, and it was great. Now that I am back in San Diego for the summer I wanted to take my Seattle-raised daughter to some of the places I used to love, but I was very disappointed by the fact that the employees were not aware of ingredients and allergens in the yogurts they were serving. I asked the employee which yogurts are gluten free and the first employee sharply responded "I don't know" seeming annoyed that I even asked. The second employee said "I think you would be safe with these ones, but I don't know exactly what he adds to them." It's the first time I have ever experienced employees at a froyo shop not being able to confidently answer this question, and unfortunately the lack of knowledge means I will never be returning again. read more

Amazing yogurt. Silky, smooth, melts in your mouth! They have different flavors everyday but they have 3 staple flavors that they have every day: chocolate, peanut butter and vanilla! I got the cinnamon roll and cookies & creme FroYo -- absolutely amazing. Right when I walked in I was greeted with a smile, and was told to sample some flavors. The topping bar is endless, but I got the mochi pieces (which were super soft compared to Tutti Frutti's) and the Oreo cookie dust. All this for only about $3! I can't complain! First and most importantly, in my opinion, regarding frozen yogurt shops, is the FRO YO itself and this fro yo here is a knocked out the park Home Run! It is like homemade ice cream but in fro yo form. They don't get 5 stars from me because sometimes the website is not updated and I need to know, without taking a drive over there, when my favorite flavor, SALTED CARAMEL is flowing. They don't have fresh fruit. That would make the experience five star but this is more of a hole in the wall spot with excellent fro yo. Chocolate, PB & Vanilla are daily flavors and they are good but the SALTED CARAMEL, the cake batters, yellow and angel food and original white are super stars imo. I LOVE this place. I have been going here since I was about 10 years old. The flavors are always very good and changed out often. The inside of the location is always very clean.
