This is my go-to shop for froyo on DoorDash. Especially after finding out how generous the family business is with their patrons. Matthew was very generous to include another medium chocolate yogurt when I accidentally only ordered 1 on DoorDash - and the app wouldn't let me edit it to 2. So I called the shop. They said no worries and just gave me 2 anyway. Matthew said that he was the one who made that decision when I walked in days later to pay for the extra yogurt. All the toppings are divided into plastic containers and you have to buy by the container. Seems like a major and unnecessary waste of plastic. Not to mention it is very overpriced- was over $8 for a small cup of yogurt and 2 topping containers. There are no tables to sit at inside and felt very covid-era and dystopian. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and kind. I bring my little nephews in. While the boys are pretty well behaved there's been one or two times when they've overfilled their cups and I didn't notice. I divided the overfilled cup between two. Expecting to pay but not wanting my little handling overfill. I put everything on the scale. The overfill was removed. I was kindly told with a smile not to worry about it. That's just one example. I like the prepackaged toppings as they are convenient when you bring in a gang of kids! This is is literally express and self serve yogurt place. You get the cup and get the yogurt flavor you like. They have topping too but each in the topic is in the individual small container. It's a lot for a yogurt and I want to get different topics but it's hard since I cannot finish the whole small container of topping . Frozen yogurt is just okay. Has a weird after taste. Unlike most frozen yogurt places, you are not allowed to choose the amount of each topping you get on your froyo. It's all pre measured in little sauce containers and set out for you. Considering you pay by weight, you're probably paying for the weight of the containers in addition to the yogurt and toppings themselves. It's also unfortunate that it's a decent size shop but there is no seating inside or outside whatsoever. read more

Not a fan of the toppings being individually preportioned/prepackaged. (All the exact same container, no different sized options.) I suppose it's more sanitary that way, but you have to buy the whole container, whether or not you want that much of each topping. There is also a very minimal amount of yogurt flavors available, and at least when we went, none of them were that special compared to other frozen yogurt shops in the area. A pro is the price per weight is slightly lower than we've seen at other yogurt shops. We tried it because it's the closest one to us. Would we go back? Probably not. read more

They have the most fantastic yogurt in the city of San Diego. I have been everywhere and they are hands down the best. They are so friendly and kind. We have been here twice now and both times were amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful, even checking the froyo ingredients to confirm which flavors would be safe for my peanut allergy kiddo. I come here once to twice a week with my gorgeous girlfriend. She is the one who turned me on to this place. To put it simply... Yogurt Express is FANTASTIC! The product itself is so delicious! They rotate flavors by Sunday, Monday, Tuesday being a set, Wednesday, Thursday being a set and Friday, Saturday being a set. The popular flavors tend to reoccur, but they are also adding and trying new flavors often. Sometimes we have to stock up a certain flavor because it is so good! And I know this might sound weird... But THEY HAVE THE BEST VANILLA FRO-YO. With a flavor that is supposed to be bland, theirs is delightful and will do wonders to your taste buds! They offer a variety of toppings and syrups to mix in to your frozen yogurt or to just add as a topping. And it is a do it yourself style so you get to decide how much of the toppings you want! Yogurt Express is also accompanied by a friendly-family owned staff. We have been recognized and engage in friendly conversations each time we visit with them. And one more selling point is that they are open until 11pm. This is definitely our favorite spot for fro-yo! Love to support small business, especially during a pandemic. Please owner wear a mask, is very stressful for families to around already. The place has not any protocol that the county as mandatory require to have attached on the entry door (as any hospitality business must to have). Who appear to be the owner is not wearing a mask (at all, and talk to customer), and the cashier operator instead of a mask is wearing an hanging piece of cotton, attached to the glasses (like have nothing), especially without any vinyl shield at the counter. First time my family and I've been here. It's not a big as other yogurt places we been too. But it was one our best experience. It's so nice and clean and organized. The toppings are all nicely put In little closed up containers that makes it so nice and easy for my kids to enjoy the amount they like all over their ice cream. They serve is awesome. I was so thankful. My blood sugar was going low. And the service gentleman seen that I had put a bigger amount of tip that i may have not have meant to put in the tip jar.
