My dad went here. He complained of many things but the main issue was being charged $1 for tap water. It was not disclosed prior to ordering. It was found as a charge on the bill. After writing the business, my dad was told there is no such thing as a free lunch. I felt compelled to write a quick blurb on their Facebook page and this was what I was met with. I was really hopeful here. Looked at the pics and read the reviews and thought it would be worth the drive over. Picked the pizza, didn't look until I got home so that was probably good. Fried mushrooms were good and came with their yogi sauce. The sauce was too spicy and overpowered the mushrooms. The sauce itself was very good for something like fried pickles that have some tang, but not mushrooms. The meatball parm sub was ok. Nothing special, the meatballs had good texture and enough sauce. Small cheese pizza. I guess I expect a brick oven pizza to have a little char with great color on the cheese. I opened the box and was a little disappointed. It looked like the photo on a Red Baron frozen pizza. The crust was reasonable and cooked, but really didn't have that brick Oven pizza taste. On to the large pepperoni. Again the same thing, it didn't have that delicious brick oven look and times must be tough as that pepperoni had 4 pieces of pepperoni per slice. 8 slices of disappointment. The wings were reasonable, tasty and crispy but not enough sauce. Was supposed to be a 20 piece but again times must be tough as there were only 19. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was great. It's clearly a spot for local residents but we were treated well by both staff and patrons. We ordered wings. They have a variety of flavor options but we stuck with our regular choices -hot bbq and medium. They were a good size and were cooked and sauced just right. After our teenage son going on about how good Yogis food is and how they use a brick oven to bake pizzas, we decided to give it a try! You see our small village of Akron has several pizza spots/restaurants and they're all different! We ordered a "Double Special" which includes, large pizza with one topping, and 10 chicken fingers (we recommend garlic parm) and a large box of French fries. It's definitely enough food for a family of 4! The girl who answered the phone at yogis wasn't sure if the fries came with chicken fingers, so she put me on a brief hold to find out! I appreciated her not guessing as she was so friendly and professional! We would recommend trying take out. Haven't eaten in their dining room or bar area! If you try to find their menu online, it will show a football picture that says website under construction or something, just click on tiny word "menu" under that! I do wish they were more active on Instagram with food, specials, new offerings and/or dining area pictures, special events they host or even outside of restaurant pictures/updates in area. Look pizza and food in general is subjective. Yogis new location in what used to be the Akron house is great. My issue is with the service and food. The service is meh. I would get the same level of service at McDonalds. The cashier always seems to be uninterested in helping. The pizza is meh at best. They tout their brick oven but really the burn the crap out of the crust. Gas station pizza is about the same thing. Try out a different pizza place. I would not make this my first choice. read more

Saw good reviews for this place and decided to try it, unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the pizza the dough was extremely floury on the bottom and it didn't cook evenly in the oven as one section was very dark and the rest of my toppings (I ordered Hawaiian) seemed to be not browned/cooked at all. Placed and order over the phone, the girl seemed agitated to take the order. Wait time was 30 minutes which was fine, got the food home all of the meat was cold. Mushrooms were the only thing warm, besides the missing sauce. The taco weighed about 5 pounds only to open it and find a pound of cheese on it, for a baby. The pecan salad was very tasty, besides the chicken being cold. The Pittsburg salad had very soggy French fries, yum. So either the meat was never heated up, or the 30 minute wait time for pickup, with one customer in the restaurant was exaggerated. read more

There were three slices of pizza left, two pepperoni, one BBQ/medium chicken finger. I took the two pepperoni. The slices were hot and tasted fresh. They had the cup pepperoni too! If this place were called BooBoo's, kids would fall over coming through the door and constantly be getting minor cuts and scrapes. Hence it's called Yogi's. I can't bear to make any further jokes at this point, I'm jealous of those guys that can afford Rosetta Stone, in fact I'm coming up with a new term for it: Jellystone. What to get: Slices, Personal Cheese & Pep Pizza. Akron, NY, the centre of the food universe, especially when it comes to legendary brick oven pizza, which this town invented. OK - I can't back that up. Anyway. Freshie's is actually no longer called Freshie's, it is now called Yogi's. It is one of the hidden gems of Western NY, on a little back street in a town with two other more popular pizza places, it quietly assumes that you don't know how good it is... until you give it a try one day and realize that in a city where real Brick Oven-tasting Pizza is rare, this place makes it and makes it really well! Their slices are huge and delicious, and their personal size pizzas are incredibly cheap and straight out of heaven. I recently tried their wings and they were EXCELLENT, I think their pizza is even better but yes, very delicious wings, so everything so far is 5/5. The wings are more typical quintessential Buffalo. If you are having 5 kids at once, then you need to shop for some essentials. Quintessentials. I hope this place survives because not a lot of people know about it, and last time I checked, it didn't have any online presence at all. Then again there is a place in North Carolina called "Cook Out", who have no online presence, and have still completely taken over the Carolinian fast food scene, to their credit. Yay Freshie's! What is it with Pizza in Buffalo? It is simply the best I've ever tasted and there are probably 200 good options. I recommend my personal faves, Imperial (South Buffalo), Zip's (North Buffalo), Francos (Eggert location in Amherst), and Yogi's (Akron). The last one is more Brick-Oven style than typical Buffalo style. All 4 slices are pure heaven and must not be missed under any circumstances. I can't say it enough - if you're just trying a slice, make sure the Pizza is either straight out of the oven piping hot, or reheated in the oven. Chicago Pizza is amazing, and NYC Pizza is special, but Buffalo, for me, beats them both. Please don't talk to me about STL Pizza or Cali Pizza (ew). Buffalo Pizza is fluffier, doughier, cheesier, saucier, and pepperonier than anything you've ever had. If Chicago is a crusty pie and NYC is a huge flat slice, then Buffalo is quintessential Pizza. It's just so good. They also do excellent Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Steak Pizzas here in Buffalo. Dreamy. I will stand under oath and swear that Buffalo Pizza is the best in the land. Please don't ever order Pizza from Domino's, Papa John's, Pizza Hut et al. Those major corporations don't need a penny of your money, and they are bland cookie cutter chains that spend all their money on advertising. Please frequent your locally owned Pizza shops. They need it more, they're real local people, and the food is almost always wildly superior, anyway. Edit: I now go here like weekly whenever I am cycling because it's within easy cycling distance from my house. Nothing says "bike workout" better than a slice of brick oven pizza right? Sometimes the service is really nice, sometimes it is sketchy. There is one particular employee with whom the service is really, really sketchy, in fact if I see that employee at the counter, I leave without ordering, that's how bad that employee is. They offer a variety of western new york go-to-foods such as pizza, subs, wraps, and chicken fingers. I wasn't particularly in the mood for pizza the day I went (although I heard it's pretty good), but my friends and I got wraps and chicken fingers. The food was pretty much what you would expect from a hole-in-the wall joint that serves satisfying food.
