Not super conveniently located in Vail village and wish they had a second spot in Lionshead but beyond that 5 stars!! Great selection of coffee, alternative milks and food! I was able to grab coffee and pastries, gluten free! For husband and I and gluten free pastries and smoothie for kids. Awesome little spot tucked away smack-dab in the center of vail village. Super mountainy and cave-like atmosphere inside gave it a super cozy feel. Simple, yet fairly expansive menu with decent prices for the Village. House 8oz cappuccino was $4.50, but you definitely get what you pay for. They use sweet bloom coffee, which imo is top notch. The cappuccino was very good as well! Bitter from the espresso with an airy-sweet finish from properly steamed milk! Would love to try a latte or specialty drink, but may never need to venture past the cap! Can't wait to go back! read more

I bought some for my bf but I guess he like it so much there was nothing left haha. I will definitely be coming back to try their other drinks and hide some monkey bread for myself haha. A little pricey and the people are not quite as friendly as they could be but they have a wide selection of pastries and the coffee is really good one of my favorites is the dirty chai latte. One thing that is a little bit cheap is if you get a four dollar large iced tea they will not give you refill. Have yet to order a bad drink. I enjoyed the Lonestar, matcha latte, & the tea is great. The baristas are friendly, and make your drinks on the spot. Haven't had to wait longer than maybe 5 minutes. I haven't tried any myself, but food such as banana bread and grilled cheese is available there as well. Baristas also handled machine malfunctions well even during rush hour. A little on the pricey side, but it is right in the middle of Vail, so. TLDR: Great drinks, fast service, just a little pricey. read more

Awesome coffee shop & the drinks make it even more awesome! We stopped in after yelping a coffee shop near us, only problem no quick in & out parking. There is a parking garage but if your in it 0-10 min it's free, after 10 min it's $10 and I didn't want to chance it & add that to our latte price! So our driver dropped us off & waited while the 2 of us ran in. First off people were sitting outside in the winter enjoying their coffees & eating breakfast burritos with their big mountain dog just chillin. The inside of his place is adorable, old barn wood & chalk boards, just the right amount of shabby with a touch of class. There is an entire yeti section to purchase cups, T-shirt's, hats & stuffed yeti's! We got 2 large vanilla lattes and a sweet chai (they also had spicy). And 2 cinnamon rolls. To-go. We only waited a few min & our order was ready. The lattes had hearts drawn in the foam by the baristas! I had the chai & it was so good I made my latte friends try it right away, I enjoyed it very much! We get back to the truck & my 2 friends break into their cinnamon rolls & all they kept saying was it's the best they ever had! Not too sweet, it was just right! 3 drinks & 2 cinnamon rolls about $27, not to shabby for Vail! read more

Best brunch I had in Frisco…read more Butterhorn Bakery and Cafe is the highest-rated brunch spot in Frisco, and based on my experience, I'd agree with the hype. Of the couple of brunch spots I tried in town, this was my favorite. I ordered the Cornucopia with eggs over medium and substituted the home fries for fruit. The fruit was surprisingly good, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. A side of fruit can be pretty hit or miss when you substitute it at brunch, so I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were cooked right, and the toast was fine. I opted for turkey bacon, though, and I'd recommend skipping it. It was pretty crispy and lacked much flavor. The standout was the cinnamon roll French toast. We ordered it to share with the table, and I highly recommend doing the same. It comes with two large cinnamon rolls that are soaked in egg batter and grilled French-toast style. It was top tier. I noticed several tables around us sharing the regular cinnamon roll as well, and those looked fantastic too. They also have a bakery counter inside with plenty of grab-and-go options. The pastries all looked great, along with fresh bread, cookies, and other sweet treats. If you're visiting Frisco and looking for brunch, Butterhorn is definitely worth a stop. First, because it's located in Lionshead it is a lot calmer than the coffee spots in Vail Village proper so grabbing coffee was a total breeze even in the morning prime hours. The service was quick and the vibes were cheery and bright. Their matcha lattes are shockingly good - they're lightly sweetened and the matcha is likely pre-mixed for iced lattes but I'm a big fan because it means the matcha is evenly mixed rather than just settling at the bottom. The cold brew was bright and fresh, and our friends who got bloody marys were also very happy - especially since you can take the cocktails to go.

This location is great for when you are skiing and just hanging out around Beaver Creek but it doesn't take advantage of some unique and homemade flavors like the other coffee houses. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was honestly the worst I've ever had. The espresso tasted burnt and bitter, and the milk was completely scalded with loose, airy bubbles rather than a proper micro-foam. To make matters worse, the staff was very cold and did not smile or greet me warmly at all. For a specialty coffee roaster showcasing premium beans and equipment, both the barista execution and the customer service fell completely flat today. I couldn't even finish the drink.

A very cozy atmosphere with couches and tables (which respectfully ask you to limit table time). Like much of the Breck staff, they were very friendly and prompt with the coffee order. I'm not sure how they do it with the tourism rush! On the note of coffee, I'm not the biggest fan of iced drinks in paper cups. That seems to be a common practice in town. It doesn't work well with iced drinks, but I'm probably an insane tourist that always orders iced drinks in the Winter. Check it out though, even just if it's just for the food.
