2nd visit today, and I brought my sister along. She loved her butter chicken, and samosa. I had the vegetable biryani again- it's still amazing! Also had garlic, and butter naans. The service is top tier in my opinion, they treat you like family. I'll be back again when in town. My only issue is that I was so excited about the chai I ordered that I walked out ,left my leftovers on the table and didn't notice until i arrived home an hour later. the chicken biryani is so good!! The best I've had so far. We also got saag paneer and the special goat curry. Both were delicious as well. I'm not really a fan of saag paneer but this one was very yummy. Service was prompt and our waiter was attentive. We have eaten at Yellow Handi numerous times since it opened. I was so excited to have an Indian restaurant in this area but my excitement has faded as the quality has dropped every time. Most recently, I ordered aloo gobi and butter chicken. The aloo gobi tasted old. The potatoes were overcooked and had an off flavor. The butter chicken had great flavor but less meat than in the past, with gristle and bits of bone. Service when i picked up my order was lackadaisical and unprofessional. There is a 6% fee for packaging for takeout. I don't think we will be back. read more

We came on for a late lunch and the place had a very apathetic vibe. It was around 2:00 so we still decided to try it thinking it might be just the lull of the day. There are no physical menus - you must order from the QR code on your phone. We had mango lassis, the kofta balls, butter chicken, chat and garlic naan. The sizes were ridiculously small and our bill ended up being $104 after being charged an 18% gratuity' for 2 people with very subpar service. Was invited to this unfamiliar place on 2/13/26 with a dynamic friend of mines and he knew exactly what he was doing when he sent the invite. The food was delicious as well the dinks (full bar ). Food was amazing! Every dish we ate was delicious! We ordered Butter Chicken (mild), Chicken Tikka Masala (mild), Bang Bang cauliflower, Trio Samosas and everything was filled with flavor! The Mango Lassi was amazing and creamy, and also a Mojito but will order the Mojito without any lemon next time. We were full before we could finish, the portions are perfect and the atmosphere is very welcoming. It is wonderful to have a local delicious Indian cuisine restaurant to go to! Not only is the food incred delicious, the customer service is fantastic. The owner, Sam, is so personable and spent time talking to my S/O and I after we had our great meal; I had the goat saag, and he had the butter chicken. I will definitely be back and bring my friends. An important thing I pay attention to is the cleanliness of bathrooms, and theirs was very clean, which definitely pleased me. I really like their water feature that adds to the welcoming ambience. The first thing that hits you when you open the door is the aroma of all of the spices. This was our first visit to Yellow Handi on Salem Road in Conyers GA. We have often wondered when the Conyers/Covington area would get an Indian restaurant and Yellow Handi is the answer! We have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Atlanta, Decatur, and Gwinnett county and this meets or exceeds those experiences without the traffic or city congestion. Located in the shopping center around Ingle's on Salem Road allows ample parking and easy access. The dining room is spacious and beautiful with the option of table, booth, or bar seating. The ambience is modern with lighting that is adjusted from daytime to evening. The background music plays softly overhead but does not compete with dinner conversation and adds to the Indian dining experience. The wait staff seated us quickly and gave us the option of a paper or scanned menu accessible from one's phone. My husband used the paper menu and I scanned the menu so we could compare our choices. There are a wide variety of appetizers, vegetable, and meat dishes. Most of the dishes also allow the customer to select how spicy they want the dish prepared. We ordered the Butter Chicken, mild spice, and the Vegetable Kolapuri, medium spice and shared both dishes. They have a wide variety of roasted tandoori dishes, curries, along with an assortment of Indian bread options. The portions were ample and we split both dishes and a basket of naan. Dinner for two was about $35 with tax, and we had leftovers to take home. Our server was attentive and answered questions about menu options and dish preparation. And the manager/owner came by our table more than once to say hello and see if we needed anything. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the east metro area and will satisfy those wanting to broaden their dining experiences with a first taste of authentic Indian cuisine, or those looking for familiar, well-loved Indian dishes closer to home. 5 Stars! read more

We are in town for the Spartan race, and wanted to try a local place for dinner. It was SO good! We had the spring rolls and garlic naan for appetizers. Then I had the chicken tandoori trio for dinner. It was delicious and had a huge portion! We all got mango lassi's too. One of the best Indian places I've had. And our waiter was very kind. The chicken biryani was very flavorful but too salty that it over powered the dish. Only way I was able to cut it down the salt was with the raita or yogurt sauce (really runny might I add ). 1. We got there when it opened so they were cleaning. Because of this they were spraying cleaner into the air which was strong. 2. The incense they were burning near the door did not smell nice at all. 3. The Shrimp Biryanis was nothing but a large amount of spiced rice with maybe, yes maybe, 3-4 tiny shrimp. The shrimp was probably 35-45 ct. size. 4. The Naan was fair 5. I had to ask for more drink as all of our drinks were almost out. 6. Half of our group did not have phones so they couldn't see the menu since the restaurant does not have menus. 7. I asked for the buffet and they said they do not have it. I've been searching for an Indian restaurant, and I'm so glad that we discovered this one. The food was delicious. We had the Kurkuri Bhindi and Malacani Fry Chicken for appetizers. The okra was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the chicken had just enough heat to it. Grandma enjoyed the Masala Fried Shrimp. The Korma Chicken had a bit of sweetness to it, which balanced nicely with the spices. The Butter Chicken and the Chicken Ghee Roast were very flavorful! Both the Garlic and Butter Naan were good, but I personally felt the butter was a better vessel for all of the flavors. Definitely enjoyed the Nimbu Pani, and only disappointment was that we were too full to enjoy a dessert. I definitely recommend picking different meals and sharing! The service was excellent. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu and helped us choose something that we would enjoy. They checked on us often and kept our water glasses filled. The space was open and inviting. Rockdale County finally has an Indian restaurant- hooray! The dining area is spacious and offers booths and tables. Recorded Indian music adds to the ambiance. We arrived for an early lunch at 11:30 on a Saturday. Only three other tables filled during or meal. Yellow Handi is still building its lunch crowd. We ordered Tandoori sheik kabob. Meat patties arrived on a sizzling platter on a bed of cooked cabbage and onions with a pleasant char. Patties were good, but very spicy. Be sure to ask about heat when ordering as spice level is not identified on the menu. This dish also takes extra time to prepare which made for a 25 minute wait. Again, no warning. Saag Paneer can be ordered spicy to taste. We went with mild as hubby can no longer tolerate spicy food. Although the menu does not say , it comes with rice. Very good, but slow to arrive withe Naan. Kitchen is still working out the kinks. If you want Naan, you must order on the side. We choose the butter Naan. There are four lightly crisp pieces per order. Service is very attentive. The manager stopped by our table to ask how our meal was. Overall an excellent addition to the Rockdale dinning scene. If you like Indian food, you won't be disappointed. I actually did like this place until last nights experience. Me and my 2 friends came in and were greeted by a friendly face (so I thought) and we ordered our food. I always get the same order so I know exactly what I was going to get before I got there. Order of veggie samosa and chicken tikka masala. As we were waiting the gentleman said that they were almost fished with my "butter chicken". I corrected him and told him my friend and I both ordered the exact same thing (Tikka masala) and he proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that he knew what I ordered (when he was very wrong and my entire table corrected him) I told him it was okay and that me and my friend would switch meals. He would take the butter chicken and I would take my original order. When the food came out and we were EATING he then proceeded to come up to me with his cellphone with cameras & distorted audio and shoved it in my ear mid BITE!!!! (Again he was wrong I said to him in the video my exact order) We then get to the bill and they charged us PER SODA & a 20% gratuity because he could tell I was very upset from the day he interrupted my meal so rudely. My bill came to 95$ . I paid it and left. Will not ever be returning to this place. Which is a shame because the food is actually decent.. I'm not sure if he was the owner but he was very rude and his actions were completely unprofessional. read more
