Thai Palace is a solid place for Thai in Conyers! They serve a variety of traditional dishes, and have a great Sushi selection. It's housed inside a cute. Victorian-esque house, and seats about 50(?). Decorations are pretty traditional, without going overboard. The quality of food was excellent, tasted fresh, and came pretty fast! They even brought a fried Springrolls to the table, one each for me and my friend. That is apparently complimentary during lunch. I had the Pad See Ew with beef, and she had the Cashew Nut Chicken. My Pad See Ew could have used a little more aged soy sauce, but I corrected it with their homemade fish sauce. Over all, great lunch fare! read more

The coconut soup was fabulous! The Panang Curry sauce was too thick, and had large chunks of peppers (and hard green beans) instead of thin, julienned peppers. Not a fan of green beans in my Panang Curry. Great flavor though. It reminded me of a meal you quickly throw-together when you're pressed for time. There were five adults and two children in our party. We went on a Saturday evening at about 6:30pm and they weren't overly busy. We were seated right away. The food was good or looked good as I didn't taste everything. I got the Spicy Thai Chicken Basil dish which was really enjoyable. I sampled the Kamikaze Roll and the Green Dragon Roll and both were tasty. There was a Chicken Curry dishe and two chicken teriyaki dishes. Overall food was delicious. I must say when I arrived, I was pretty skeptical of trying Thai Palace. The reviews were great, but the house was kind of throwing me off along with the parking situation. Anyhow, I parked my car and headed inside. They had just opened, so there weren't any other diners but I read that this place could get pretty packed. I order the drunken noodles and a veggie roll that had asparagus, avocado and carrots in it. Everything was SO delicious! This is my second time trying this place and the first time I wasn't impressed. This time I really wasnt impressed at all. I'm sorry but they should really do better. My basil rolls were OK. The plum sauce is really good but my pad Thai was terrible. I feel like the chicken was cooked, frozen and heated to serve instead of fresh. I had way too many noodles and the sauce wasn't appeasing nor was it barely enough to cover because it was too much. The shrimp in my pad Thai was good. I was pleasantly surprised how good this place was! You have to give this restaurant a try. The people are nice, really good food and an overall great atmosphere! Atmosphere We missed this place a couple of times bc it's not your typical restaurant look. It's sort of built into a house with a big patio. It's comfy and reminds me of a home. Don't judge a book by it's cover! Also, they have parking and there's parking just a block away near other shops. So no need to worry about where to park. Food We started with chicken satay. As soon as it arrived, you couldn't help but stop and smell. The chicken looked nice and juicy - and it was exactly that. I couldn't get enough of the peanut sauce. But honestly, if you're not a big fan of peanut sauce, the chicken didn't even need it. That's how good it was. For the entree we had pad thai with chicken and shrimp. It was so good! Just the right amount of savory to sweetness. Nice crunch from the veggies and peanuts. The shrimp was plump and chicken was silky. I'm already drooling for more. We also had the spider roll, which is a soft shell crab roll, and the rainbow roll. Both were really good and very fresh tasting. I really like soft shell crab rolls. This one had a surprising twist of asparagus. Both were really good though. Service We had a very nice server. It just so happens that day that there was only one cook and two servers. So waited a bit for our food but we didn't mind. There's so much to admire about the place and to just enjoy each other's company. We went here for our Valentine's dinner. The wait for a table for 2 was 49mins. It appeared to be 2 waitresses and the manager on staff and there were several tables available. When we were seated the waitress was pleasant and took our order. Our appetizers came out really fast but our actual order took very long to come out. My Thai noodles came out first and I was able to almost finish my entree before the first sushi roll came out. I believe they forgot about our order and that's why it was brought to the table late. We couldn't eat our dinner together. The manager removed our sexy lady sushi roll off the bill. However the food was cooked very well and tasted great but the service could use room for improvement. Thai Palace is a house Styled restaurant just off of Main Street in Old Conyers, Georgia. There is plenty of free parking in the back of the house. Mcousin and I stopped in for a quick bite and take out. Their reataurant score is An A (way to go!) so I was happy for that. There are many pleasant people to attend to you; all very nice and professional. While we waited we walked exploring to take pictures and check the place out. The decor was simply amazing. There was beautiful Asian Art as well as Stone statues. The bathrooms were not gender neutral and super clean. The sushi station was tucked in the corner in the back. There are bar seats where yo can sit if you just want sushi alone. The floors were wood and polished nicely. The spicy rice was super spicy which I like! The yellow curry chicken was good too it had potatoes, carrots, basil leaves and coconut milk. As a surfer on the World Wide Web, I've seen the memes. The ones where there are two toilets in the same bathroom, but I thought it was a myth. A photoshop job. But, was wrong. The men's room here has two toilets nearly next to each other. Fascinating, and worth at least one star. Aside from the duel toilets, this is the world's okayest Thai restaurant. I drove past this Victorian style house and seen people eating out side on the large front porch, then I noticed it was a Thai restaurant. Friends took me out to dinner for my birthday on Friday night, March 17, 2023. What a mistake! Took forever to even see our waitress after we were seated. We were ready to just leave because we didn't even have our drinks and a table next to us came in after us and already had their drinks and hors d'oeuvres. It was like pulling teeth to get our spring rolls. When they finally came they were delicious as usual! A simple meal for five took over two hours. I ordered chicken fried rice and there were two pieces of chicken in the complete dish. My daughter ordered soup and there was one piece of chicken in it. I've tried. I've really tried. I want to love this family-run business, in a beautiful old house. I'll use today as an example. We ordered online (two pad thais and an order of spring rolls). The system said it would be ready at 6:29pm. I got there at 6:40 based on their always being real slow on takeout orders (I figured, with the new ordering system, that they might have gotten their act together). When I got there, three tables were occupied. One had their main, and another had either appetizer or main (not sure). So, not a ton for the kitchen to do and I figured the order would be ready and I'd be back home in a jiffy. The order was ready at 6:57 - a half hour after promised. Twenty minutes of standing around. So, how was the food? The spring rolls were delicious. They always are. The pad thai was awful. Just awful. Overcooked noodles. No trace of peanuts. No lime wedge. Could not distinguish fish sauce, garlic, chiles, or tamarind in the sauce; it just tasted like a thin and bland replica of good pad thai. The meat was just thrown on the top and not mixed in (so the flavor was not mixed in). The sauce was mostly underneath, also not mixed in too much, which means that the noodles were sort of a sticky mass. Blech. I give up. MAYBE I'll try lunch. MAYBE I will try dining in. 5star! What a delight! I was heading down I-20 taking a load of produce to Mississippi when I developed a wish for sushi. Google gave me this little wonder and I called in a sushi/sashimi lunch combo ($13.99). Imagine my delight when I arrived just a few minutes off the interstate to a insanely charming renovated old Victorian with wrap around porch seating under a couple magnolias. Lovely interior. Just a fantastic experience. Now I didn't have any Thai food. I wish I had. I wish I lived near by. I would eat until belly burst. I did instead take my sushi/sashimi combo and break it open on the porch in the March Spring Georgia weather. Perfectly tasty roll and nigiri and little sashimi bites.
