Thai Garden - My shrimp dish was mouth watering indeed! - Thai Near Me - McDonough, Georgia

This is our go-to restaurant for Thai takeout. The yellow curry is always amazing and flavorful. The wings were good but the dipping sauce was the star of the dish. One of my only gripes is that they don't give you enough rice for the curry. I have to sit down and have dinner inside one of these days. read more

I did not get to take pictures but it is ok but not the best. We ordered for pick up. Probably won't go back. Didn't taste authentic, tasted rush like fast food. Service was nice at the door. read more

I've been here before and the food is always fantastic. Very good portions and very reasonably priced. The service was incredible. The young man attending me was extremely polite and very professional. The ambiance is very relaxing and mellow. Will definitely come back here again... read more

Went for lunch and ordered the pad thai and the drunken noodles. I really like that neither dish was spicy. I'm sure you can add spice upon request. The food was a good amount for lunch portions, but a bit expensive for lunch, especially since the dishes didn't come with soup. Also, dishes were skimpy of meat (got shrimp, chicken, and beef in both dishes). It did come with a spring roll, but it was just ok. Also took off a star because we wanted the Tofu Pad Thai, but wanted to sub the Tofu for veggies, which they wouldn't do. So, we ended up with a regular Pad Thai, which was still good. Got sticky mango rice to go, it was good too. read more

Our dinner at Thai Garden was outstanding from start to finish. We shared the shrimp pad Thai, Thai Garden Chicken, Thai chicken wings, egg rolls, and potstickers--and every single dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. You could tell care went into both the seasoning and presentation. The waitress was equally impressive--friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. It made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. We'll definitely be back. read more

I discovered this little gem at lunch today. I have driven by a couple times a week. The exterior is not inviting, and the reviews are mixed, so I hadn't stopped in. Well, today a friend invited me to meet her here. I started with the Tom Yum Shrimp and asked for it mild. The flavor was excellent and the heat was perfect. The Pad Thai was so flavorful and the lunch portion was large. I had enough for a second meal to take home. My friend ordered the Pad Woon Sen w/ Fried Tofu. It was also plentiful and just enough heat to enhance the flavor. read more

I was in the mood for Thai and was looking for some support from my fellow yelpers. The reviews were dated, I couldn't locate anything recent so I was already worried but I was really in the mood for Thai food. I gave this place a try and I called in an order for shrimp pad Thai with no tofu and an appetizer portion of chicken wings. The chicken wings were nice and crispy and it was paired with a sweet and tangy sauce. The shrimp pad Thai was okay. The noodles were over cooked, the flavor wasn't packing but overall just okay. Would I order here again, it all depends on the mood. But if you really want something with a lot of flavor, keep looking. read more

I was excited about the 4 star rating. It was a true disappointment. I just ordered the Thai shrimp fried rice and the Pad Woon Sen noodles. The noodle dish was absolutely the worst Pad Woon Sen noodles I have ever had. The fried rice was a solid 3.5 stars but they did not bag my condiments and finding shrimp in the rice was like finding a needle in a haystack. The shrimp were a good size just scarce. I won't be going back. read more

Second time there; both times there was only ONE waitress who had to answer the phone, handle pick up orders, take dine in orders and bus tables! While taking our order, waitress seemed annoyed and more interested in rushing us so she could answer the phone. She took our order but did not place it with the kitchen until taking another table's order and returning to us to ask if we wanted protein with the curry, stalling ...bcuz we had already ordered our dish...curry with chicken. Extremely poor customer service! We went directly home and before I could get into the house, uncontrollable diarrhea started running down both legs! I have UC and resent having my very sensitive digestive system callously upset. I know I was punished by the cook for expecting good customer service and because I let the waitress know the phone call could wait until we finished giving her our order and that it was not right for her to hold our order until she collected another order. On both visits, food was served with stingy or with minimal care regarding quality and presentation. Run, don't walk away from this Restaurant!! read more

Great customer service. Coconut Chicken Soup was watery and lacked flavor. Spring rolls were not Thai style and were mushy. They were definitely not fresh. I feel like I could have gotten better food in the international frozen section at Kroger. So sad, I was so excited to have some Thai Spring Rolls and Thom Ka. read more

This place always comes through for me! The food is consistently delicious! The service is excellent.

Average Thai food. I ordered take out from them 4-5 times. They don't put as many vegetables in the thom kha soup like i prefer. Also they never gave me the spice level I asked for. Food was okay but nothing to run for! read more

No frills, great food at a reasonable price. I normally do not get a lunch break away from the building (I am an educator), so I ducked away from the Chick-Fil-A and decided to revisit this place. My wife and I have been going to the Thai Garden for 21 years, and the food remains great. I believe ownership has changed over that time but the menu remains essentially the same. The small staff provides excellent service. The restaurant has been redecorated a couple times and remains fine. I always get the South Side Seafood. Never a disappointment. .. read more

I've gone here for years but starting to reconsider... I've never seen the restaurant be thoroughly cleaned... tables get wiped down but everything else is dusty and just unkept. Like I never want to sit at any table along the windows bc they never clean them and it's always dusty with dead bugs on the window seal right where u eat. Service is generally good. Food is good... not great but will do. This place has so much potential. Oh do plain fried rice is very bland... I'll never get it again. The chicken or veggie fried rice is pretty descent... that's what I normally get. Should have stuck to that. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness of the inside... the little small things even shouldn't be overlooked. read more

The food is good but the serving amount not good. I didn't get my money worth. Kiddie servings for adult prices

This place is a decent mom and pop spot where the food is usually delicious. However, my last two visits were unacceptable. The last time the server was so unfriendly and hasty. The food was good but took a while. Today, the servers were better. BUT THE FOOD TOOK AN HOUR AND 1/2. Which made no sense, they were busy but not THAT BUSY. The food was still good but definitely not worth the 1 & 1/2 hour wait. I will try again, with hopes that this improves. The food is worth a 3rd chance. If there is no change I will be finding a new Thai spot. read more

We went there for late lunch. I ordered Pad Kee Mao with chicken. The wait was little long because it wasn't busy at the time. After 20 minutes, the dish came and it turned out tasty and spicy. It wasn't the best Pad Kee Mao I had, but it tasted very good. The texture of the noodles was right, fair amount of chicken, bell peppers, basil, carrots, onions and green beans. Overall, it tasted delicious. You will like this dish if you like basil. I will go back to Thai Garden if I'm in the area again, especially there isn't that many Thai restaurants in the south side of town. read more

To start, we ordered the cream cheese rolls as an appetizer. I had never had this dish before, but I was pleasantly surprise! The cream cheese was at a nice warm temperature and had a subtle kick to it. Now on to the entree. I tried the 3 Flavor Chicken. It was quite impressive! Crunchy with a sweet, spicy, savory flavor. I ordered the house fried rice as a side for $1 extra and was very impressed. My wife ordered the yellow curry and enjoyed it very much. She preferred it over a green curry we tried a few days ago in Miami Beach. Overall, the service was pretty quick here. It was a Wednesday night, thus it was pretty quiet, but a clean atmosphere overall. Will probably come back and try some of their other options! It's also pretty cheap for what you get. read more

If you just have to have Thai in the area, it's fine, it's affordable. The spring rolls were good too! But the pad see ew had a sour taste that wasn't pleasant and the green curry just wasn't curried, ya know? I'd save my money. read more

Everything about this place is yummy. The cream cheese rolls with that sweet sauce is so crispy creamy goodness. Swirl it on your tongue mmmmmm. Spring rolls again crispy cabbage yumminess. I have been here a few times, they never disappoint. Always very nice wait staff and the food is just fucking good! The pad see ew is so good, but the funny thing is it's even better cool or at room temperature. Go figure, there I was under my bed playing and my daughter slipped me her to go box. I was like mmmmm yumm making all kinds of noises under the bed, trying to be quiet. I couldn't simply keep my noises to myself no, so the grandkids found me. It was a good hiding place to since the monsters live there, the grandbabies would have never looked there. Anywho this place is awesome, just really good thai food, not greasy at all. read more

I visited Thai Garden yesterday evening, and it won't be the last time. The food was everything I expected, the ambience was very relaxing, and the service stood out in the best way. My Pad Thai was cooked to order, no peanuts. My waiter was especially informative, making sure to let me know the ingredients so my dietary restrictions (peanut allergy) wouldn't be an issue. My drink never dipped below half full, and both my wife and sister-in-law were pleasantly I'm surprised at how well and attentive our server (the short haired one wearing Crocs, I forget their name) was to us while maintaining other tables. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this location to my coworkers. We usually go to the other Thai place around the corner, but this will become our regular Thai spot from now on! read more

Visited Thai Garden with a friend while she ran errands in the area. I loved this place immediately. It's bright. Clean. And the food is good. When they say hot, they mean HOT! My friend had the Panang Curry. She ordered it "medium," and it blew her little socks right off. I can only imagine what "hot" means. My friend is totally enamored of the Chicken Coconut Soup. And the Chicken Satay was very tender. Grilled just right, and served with a tasty sauce. Be forewarned: The egg drop soup here is nothing at all like the stereotypical egg drop soup you'll find in any Chinese restaurant. I did not fancy it, but you just might. I gave in to my carb craving and had the Pad Thai, which was everything I needed it to be: chock-full of carbs, chock-full of excellent pad-thai flavor. Exactly the staple it's supposed to be. And it was not so hot that it blew my socks off. I'll happily return to Thai Garden. Holler if you're coming with. read more

Well, I ordered a small tom kah coconut soup and an order of shrimp basil rolls. And I'm not quite sure what I got. It looks like a powder was mixed with water to create my soup. And it tasted like water too with some mushrooms thrown over in it. My shrimp rolls came with half a shrimp in each one. NOT WORTH 9$ for watery soup and one whole shrimp total! Not going back! read more

My experience was wonderful, we arrived around 5pm for a early dinner and were greeted immediately. We ordered an appetizer which were filled with cream cheese, it came out about to 5 minutes after we put in our order which was great. They were a bit hot on the inside so you should wait a second after you get them before you take a bite. We then got our meal right after our appetizer and I may add if you're not into spicy food don't get anything beyond thai hot. I ordered their penang curry which was delicious, it wasn't super sweet but it did have a hit of coco. My bad for ordering it spicy because the flavors were amazing so I wanted to finish it, I just had to suffer a bit because of the heat. They serve your meal with a side if rice and it was the right amount for two people. The best part of our experience was the server, she was super friendly and very attentive. We did not have to wait for refills or napkins at all during our visit. I know it's in a weird spot kinda hidden but give it a try you won't regret it. read more

Was craving pad thai in the henry county area and this place popped up (had to travel a bit). Came into a silent large restaurant, but there were specials on the menu which made the food cheaper (about $4 off) so we just had to stay. The service was superb! Staff was extremely friendly , probably because we were the only patrons in the restaurant but I'm not complaining. The waitress routinely stopped by making sure everything was ok and even gave us complimentary egg rolls. Definitely gave a better dining experience. The dishes had large proportions. We ordered pad thai, papaya salad--but for the life of me I cant remember the menu item on sale! This place is vegetarian friendly but the papaya salad is most likely made with REAL fish sauce. Pad thai was alright but since this is in the Southern area it tastes pretty good. Sadly the papaya salad was pretty fishy so we could not eat that much but we got everything else to-go. Would come back if i am ever in the area. read more
