My Husband and Grandson had a wonderful experience at Thai Chariot! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish tasted authentic and made with care. The customer service was outstanding; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. The restaurant itself was spotless and had a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the charm of a family-owned business. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Thai is one of my favorite ethnic cuisines. The location is located inside of a strip mall shared with Publix. Once you step inside you wouldn't know where you are anymore. There are quaint tables with white table cloth toppers and real silverware. There is smooth jazz or classic music playing that makes it seem kind of romantic. The menu is stacked with plenty options for dishes, to include appetizers. It may be like 20+ items to choose. The prices are reasonable. Portions are decent, but the rice to entree ratio is lacking. I need 2x as much rice for my entree portion . The only thing I'd recommend is consolidating plates. There are too many white plates taking up space for each dish & it gets overwhelmingly crowded before you finish the previous dish. Work smarter, not harder. The service is nice, speedy, and here's only a little delay in communication. The daughter of the owners seems neurodivergent, but she's helpful & serves tables. The elder owner (possibly mom) usually follows behind & double checks service at each table. I'd definitely visit again!! I had a first date here and we closed down the entire restaurant by 10p. The family that runs Thai Chariot is very kind and their food is fantastic. I grew up having Thai food and rarely find places where I enjoy pad Thai as places make it too sweet and add ketchup for color. Thai Chariot's pad Thai is very good! Other meals my household enjoys are drunken noodle, and the Panang chicken curry. Their coconut shrimp is really good too. I usually get takeout, but the one time I ate there the service was great. This has to be the best Thai restaurant I've been to in awhile. This review is based on my second visit. I ordered the Mango Calamari Curry and the Papaya Salad. I was with a party of 5 so we ordered 2 appetizers: Thai chicken wings and shrimp spring rolls. I prefer small family restaurants so it was automatically a "go" for me. We were immediately greeted once we walked in the door. There might be 10-12 tables in this restaurant. They use real fabric tablecloths, genuine glasses for drinking and silverware for dining. It was a quiet and relaxed atmosphere: no background music, no TV's, no kitchen noises, no constant phones ringing, no loud speaking customers or employees which is also a plus for me. The owners and employees are so polite and kind that it almost makes me question why I would go anywhere else. The food tastes so wonderful that we are willing to travel 2hrs away (with other pit stops) in order to dine here. Pros: Customer service, food quality and quantity compared to price are exceptional. They relate to you on personal levels and treat you more like guests than customers. The food quality is so amazing that the entire party ordered more of what we ate at the restaurant for "to-go" to eat the following day. I love the fact that they do not have the ridiculous mandatory gratuity taxes and other requirements and scams that most ATL area restaurants demand. Cons: Since I'm attempting to be balanced, the following are the only cons I experienced here during my two visits.There's no beer/wine menu.The restaurant was a bit too chilly. I had a very nice Wednesday night dinner here while traveling home. My guess is that the lady that served me was the owner, and she was very pleasant and took good care of me. The atmosphere was relaxing and I really enjoyed the soft piano music that played. Definitely noticeable. I have never had roti but seen it on menus so I gave it a try. Fantastic!! Too good! I'm sure the doctor would not approve but I really enjoyed it!! One of my favorite things to order at a thai restaurant is the Tom Kha soup. I got it this time and it was just ok, not one of the better ones that I've had. It was a little disappointing that the upcharge for shrimp only gave me two shrimp. I don't think I've ever ordered yellow curry before because potatoes don't thrill me but I liked the idea of turmeric and saw a couple of folks recommend it on here so as much as I wanted the green, I chose the yellow and was not disappointed. I'm almost always disappointed in the heat level but wasn't here. The hot was perfect for my tastes. The food was delicious and the glass noodles really set this dish off! I love spicy food and had mine spicy! It's located in the Publix plaza, along with a plethora of nice businesses! My first time here, so I decided to dine in. It was on a Thursday @ lunchtime and the place was empty, no one was there... there were no ringing phones. No activity at all, so that spoke volumes. The entire time there they had only one other customer- not even a DoorDash , Uber eats- nothing The ambiance was pleasant, very clean and welcoming. However, No one greeted me, so I went to the counter, no one there, I looked in the kitchen, there was a young male that appeared to not speak much English. From around the corner another gentleman appeared, told me I could sit anywhere, I did, he came right away, gave me a menu and disappeared. He returned after 4 minutes- I timed him- after looking over the extensive menu, I ordered the Fresh Basil rolls- (I've had better - a lil chewy) then I saw they offered Pad Woon Sen, (not offer on many menus) I took a chance- (not their best dish) and because I've read so many reviews about the Basil Fried Rice, I had to have it, this was their saving grace. Very flavorful. I asked for broccoli and medium spice - I got three very small pieces of broccoli and no spice.... Overall, I would try them again if I'm in the area. read more

This restaurant is located just a few minutes off the highway in a shopping plaza by Publix. It was a very convenient stop on our drive home to Florida. Walking in, I immediately noticed how beautifully the restaurant was decorated! It was new, modern, but still had an authentic Thai decor. I was immediately greeted, seated, given menus and water. We ordered the Larb salad with chicken, chicken satay, sticky rice, & my husband ordered a stir fry dish. The Larb salad was phenomenal! Every Thai restaurant adds their unique flair to the dish, and Thai Chariot's was one to remember! All of the food was delicious and the service was efficient, friendly and sweet. The food came quickly and we were able to get back on the road again. The restaurant itself is very clean and had very nice and clean restrooms even. We will definitely bookmark Thai Chariot and stop by again on our next trip through the Atlanta area! read more

This was our first time dining at Thai Chariot, and I agree that it is a nice addition to McDonough. This is now the closest Thai restaurant to where we live in Sun City, and we enjoyed it very much. It is quaint (just 10 tables), the atmosphere is serene and attractive, and the music was a nice touch. The menu is fabulous; there were so many dishes I wanted to try! I always have a Thai coconut curry (usually Massaman) the first time at a restaurant-- my way of judging whether I would want to come back. Yes, I would come back to Thai Chariot for this dish! My husband's favorite, Drunken Noodles, was a winner as well. Thai Chariot is owned and run by a couple and their special needs daughter who is the server. They are currently looking for additional help, and I am hoping they will find a server and have their daughter as an assistant/ busser. This was my suggestion to her mother, because the daughter was unable to comprehend our spice-level requests and write them down accurately. My request for "mild to medium" Massaman Curry and my husband's request for "medium to hot" Drunken Noodles ended up as very spicy Massaman and mild Drunken Noodles. Although both were delicious, we had to swap dinners halfway through. The mom was very sweet and apologetic as I explained what happened, and she surprised us with a complimentary Thai Ice Tea, although we didn't request anything.
