We were in the area and spotted Orient Express for some quick Chinese food. We walked in and immediately noticed the buffet. I asked if there was a to-go menu we could order from, and they said they had a full menu available. We pretty much knew what we wanted when we walked in. I decided to try the barbecue rib tips with a side of steamed broccoli, and Wifey went with the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young and grabbed a bottle of lemonade from their side cooler. The person behind the counter told me the order would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I set a quick 15-minute timer on my back. When I came back, the food wasn't ready, so I ended up waiting another five to seven minutes while a steady stream of people came in--some dining in and others grabbing buffet containers to go. (Side note: if you get a buffet to-go container, you're charged by weight.) The staff seemed friendly and kept things moving. When our food finally came out, we packed everything up and headed home. The food actually looked very fresh when we opened it. I dug right in, and everything tasted just as good as it looked--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Wifey commented that the sauce on her dish was way too salty--so much so that she had to mix it with rice to tone it down. She said the other components of the dish were tasty, but if we go back, she'd skip that dish. This place was disgusting. The food looked old and like it had been sitting out for hours at first glance. It wasn't busy but it took a while for the server to acknowledge me. During that time I took a closer look at the food on the buffet and noticed roaches crawling around. Needless to say I walked out and will not be returning. read more

Came here for the first time on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to see we didn't need a reservation. We sat on the sushi side and had pretty prompt service throughout. I give it three stars due to the lack of options on the sushi menu with most of the rolls looking to be shrimp tempura. The rolls were good and reasonably priced , I just wish they had more offerings. Maybe next time I should try the hibachi. read more

I have lived in the Conyers area for YEARS and normally go to Main Moon across the street but they are closed on Tuesdays and I wanted Chinese today so I decided to give this place a try. I got to tell you, I have nothing bad to say, don't let the exterior is the plaza fool you, it is run down looking but the food was pretty good. I'm originally from New York, so I'm really picky about my Chinese.... It's not home of course but it's good. The food was hot (heat) and freshly prepared, not greasy at all. You get a good amount of food for the money. No complaints, will definitely go back if my usual isn't available. Customer service was also good, really polite! read more

Only a few items on the buffet were freshly made. Many items were dried out and shriveled up. There was a hair in my potatoes and a gnat in my drink. Needs a rehab. Ceiling is drooping and wall panels coming apart. read more

The food is ALWAYS good! Whatever you order is ready for pickup within 20 minutes. I've never had an order that was incorrect because they read the order back to you when you place it and check it again before you leave. The cashier is super nice and since my family orders pretty often she throws in extra spring rolls :) read more

I really wanted to like this place as my family friends had only good things to say... unfortunately my experience was not great. It was super hot in the dining area in the middle of summer. We sat down ate some food & were about to get back up to get another plate of mediocre food when a roach was on our booth. My husband tried to kill it but it fell into the booth & I screamed. We obviously paid & left. It was just a subpar mediocre chinese buffet that I will definitely not be returning to... I'm a little scared from buffets anyway so this didnt help. read more

I Am beginning to realize that there are no excellent , letcalone decent, Chinese food restaurants near me. This is very sad. Chinese is one of my favorite types of food. And being from Los Angeles, I have been blessed to taste some of the finest Chinese food in the world. I think. At any rate, this restaurant does not even deserve a one star, but Yelp forces you to give them at least 1 star. OMG! This buffet has been here for 22 years and I'm just now finding out about their delicious food! Thanks to the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to try them out. Small but quite little place off Sigman rd near the Sigman Bottle store and across from Publix grocery store is a gem. What this Chinese Buffet and restaurant makes up in size is the fantastic tastes in their food! It's hard to find a good place and then having it last like some others that have come and gone but the Orient Express is definitely the best places for Chinese food and prices in all on Conyers! read more

This my only review with yelp and its not a pleasant one. I contacted this the Conyers location to see if they had private rooms available to host a large party. Man answers the phone: "Orient Express" Me: Yes hi I am calling to see if you offered a private room for a par-" Man: "Wrong number" Me: Um is this Orient Express??" He answers yes." Me: "Ok, well Im calling to see if ou all could accommodate a large par-" Man: Yes. no Im kind of busy. Thank you. Disconnects line Mind you I completely understand I did call during lunch hours which is not the most convenient, however you should never be rude to a potential customer. My husband and I are almost weekly take-out customers from Orient Express. We usually eat lunch there. The owners and staff are very kind and always cheerful. The variety of food is nice and the food always tastes fresh and good. We fill our two large styro-foam boxes to the rim and it's still very affordable. read more
