Ordered take out through Uber Eats app. I ordered the waffle and chicken tenders and my coworker had the chicken biscuit with a side of grits. My coworker liked all of his food, said the grits was really good (wish I ordered some ), just wish they would have gave him some jelly. Luckily we had some in our office. My food was okay, mid at best. The waffle was made well but the flavor was lacking, the tenders were a little too salty for me. The most sad part for me was they didn't give me any butter for my waffle ‍‍ how do you not put butter in an order with a waffle. Everything needs to improve after waiting almost 30 minutes. I simply cancelled my order. I heard the food is coming every 4 minutes. I don't understand. The lobby area was full. This place is a hidden gem!!! Restaurant connected to a gas station. Nothing fancy about this spot as far as decor. But hunny... the customer service, and the food makes up for everything it's lacking. Me and my Bae ordered the fried chicken and chicken gizzards. Chicken was hot fresh and crispy. Gizzards were OK. Okay I wanted my mom to try a different fried Chicken other than KFC. I found this place on Yelp because it was on my way home. The reviews were good when it came to the chicken the sides not so much. So the first thing I noticed is that no one spoke to me when I walked in for an uncomfortable amount of time. The place is very small but there are about five people and an L-shape kitchen area. The cashier was new so I understood her reluctance because she was putting together an order behind the counter. A customer actually had to say, "Hey there's somebody here who wants to order." I ordered the 5 piece all dark, just chicken special $6.99. I added a side of green beans which was okay, nothing special. The premium order of collard greens was so spicy that I couldn't even close my mouth. It was ridiculous. People should be allowed to add their own spiciness level to their collard greens. I didn't finish them I didn't want them and I threw them away. The food is good, but they do not answer the phone. I try to call ahead and order and always get sent to voicemail. I decided to order through DoorDash to expedite the process and pick up. Howeverrrr, it would be better customer service and personable to answer the phone to create that everlasting experience that'll make people want to come back for more each time. I live a couple of miles from here and always pass this spot. Over the weekend, a patient of mine had an order delivered and it smelled and looked amazing so I decided to order. The food was cooked and delivered within 30 minutes via Ubereats-still steaming hot! I ordered the chicken livers snack, the chicken gizzards snack, a small Mac and cheese and a cinnamon roll and my husband and I shared the meal. The livers were excellent, perfectly seasoned even without hot sauce. The gizzards were a bit too salty for me but just as good as the livers-I'd order again and request lightly seasoned for my order. Unfortunately, the Mac and cheese was wasted-we both took a bite and tossed it in the garbage. It was way overcooked and very mushy-like it was reheated many times over and had water added to it to reheat-and had a metallic flavor. Very disappointed. The cinnamon roll is good-it was warm from the rest of the order in the bag. I will enjoy it this evening with a cup of tea.
