I have lived in this area off and on for over 30 years now. I thought I knew every restaurant in this and surrounding towns. I am not sure how I missed Wayback Burgers! It's a hole in the wall and actually appears to be in with a gas station, but I was absolutely blown away! I love burgers but have burned out on the restaurant burgers. They all taste the same. I'm not sure what Wayback's secret sauce is, but they hit the nail on the head! There are so many great options that it will take you a while to try them all, much less get bored. Ordered while driving down I20. Easy to order tho I wish I could have taken off the onions. Site didn't allow that. Our Burgers were delicious. I walked in the store to pick them at up at the exact time it said to and the young man asked my name. I told him and he looked at the bag in front of him and handed me my bag. I ordered the double bacon burger and it has one piece of bacon ripped in half long ways to give you the slices you see in the picture. The menu states it should have 4 slices. Very disappointed. Wendy's would be cheaper and at least give you a real bacon experience. read more

First off let's start with the bathroom , it looks like boogers were on the wall inside smeared across near the mirror. Next, the food was disgusting, sloppy made no passion in the cooking or food. The bacon, well let's just say lack there of and what they did give, it was shriveled. the burger fell apart, we ordered a chilli dog they damn near put the whole bottle of mustard on it. Then ask me if it was too much mustard?!!!!! Ma'am what you think??? The drink dispenser looked like it had black stuff maybe mold floating around in it from not cleaning it. The onion rings were greasy asf. The workers had no hair nets and had the same gloves on meaning cross contamination... Listen - I'm convinced this place has better burgers than Five Guys. The restaurant reminds me of Culver's. The burger was fresh and flavorful. The sauces complimented the recipe well! I wouldn't recommend the fries, or at least the batch I tried. It lacked seasoning and was a little over fried. The beverages were yummy! It almost taste homemade. It HD the right balance of sweetness and mix depending on which fruit it listed to be combined with. I conjured I'm a nice mango and lemonade mix. I toured well with my burger. The service was okay. The location is next to a liquor store and shares parking with an interstate highway gas station, so plan accordingly for traffic and parking. They prepared the food to order, which I only had fries and a shake. Both were good, fries hot and the shake tasty. If you are in a hurry, it may not be the best option. However, while waiting for my order, I watched as the cook dropped the spatula for turning grilled foods on the floor, then he nonchalantly placed it back on the grill. Yuck and nasty. The restaurant looks like it could stand an overhaul. Trash, and filth were all over the dining area. But a friend had highly recommended this place so we tried it despite the unkept dining room conditions. The food is high priced for what you get. Was expecting that backyard grill flavor burger, but what I got was a frozen patty cooked on a griddle with zero seasoning and flavor. A good burger does not have to have the condiments oozing all over the outside of the bun, from 1st bite to a total greasy mess. The service is dreadfully slow. Let's face it, sometimes the body wants what it wants and mine wanted a Burger. I had come across an ad for Wayback Burgers and was intrigued by their on-line ordering. They offer dozens and dozens of ways to customize your Burger and in retrospect I regret not taking full advantage of it. Instead I chose the rather banal Bacon Double Cheeseburger. It was tasty, but not remarkable. My bad. Maybe next time I'll add a third patty along with extra Bacon, switch from American to Cheddar or perhaps Bleu Cheese, and top it with Chipotle Mayonnaise, Chili, Grilled Onions, and sliced Jalapenos. I ordered my food through the app on the 18th but was never told during the process that the store was closed. After I paid for my food the app said I wouldn't get my food until the next day. I called the location the next day asking for a refund in the lady said we don't know how to do that. I asked for a corporate number and she said we don't have that. Randomly came here to see if they had veggie options for me and THEY DID! I had a veggie burger with Swiss cheese and fries and it's not the usual veggie patty; trust me: it's better. When I ate here in October of 2017, it was GREAT, but now it is horrible. Burger and cheese fries took over 15 minutes and after the long wait, the cheese wasn't even melted on the fries.
