Came in Saturday nobody here some tables covered with debris needed cleaned. Ordered a couple pizzas and a sub. I'm not kidding it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Pizza was sort of underwhelming and cause crust very doughy. Toppings nowhere near the edge of the crust. The servers were nice except I did had to go to the bar to get refills on sodas. Rich St., Franklinton, Columbus Last time I came to Yellow Brick, The Flying Pig and that cheesy bread came for my whole life. I left impressed, satisfied, and ready to plan a round two. This time, I switched it up and gave The Elliot a shot -- and well... let's talk. THE ORDER: Half The Elliot -- salt & pepper, thyme, light mozzarella, pears, bacon, shaved parmesan, honey, and an olive oil drizzle Half custom -- pepperoni, sausage, banana peppers THE CRUST CHECK: Still consistent. Crispy, a little flaky, and rocking that subtle char on the bottom. Wood-fired or not, the bite is solid. THE ELLIOT EXPERIENCE: I came in open-minded -- knowing this wasn't a crowd favorite and also knowing pear isn't exactly my go-to fruit. But I was curious. And to Yellow Brick's credit, it worked better than I expected. The pear and honey brought that mellow sweetness, the bacon and parmesan added salt, and everything was fresh. The olive oil drizzle? Cool touch -- added a light, fancy feel. But it wasn't enough to carry the whole pie. The marathon continues. First time being able to try this pizza was on a Sunday. Entering to maybe one other group inside with a quite and well lit ambiance. The bartender was approachable and she kept us entertained at the bar while waiting on our pizza. The drinks were extra spiked so take it or leave it. I will never complain about extra alcohol. The pizza came out beautiful but the bottom of the pizza had a lot of burnt crumbs from the oven but the pizza wasn't actually burnt. The sauce is ROBUST, quality fresh toppings and the crust was even better. We easily devoured the whole pizza. This is not a late night pizza place so don't try after 10pm even on weekends. Decided to patron Yellow Brick Pizza because they had a carry out restaurant week deal, sadly they were sold out of the vodka chicken parm so I ended up just ordering some pizzas. We got the buffalo chicken and pickle pizza and a small Chicago deep dish with pepperoni and mushrooms. The buffalo chicken pizza was interesting. The huge blue cheese crumbles really took over the flavor of the pizza with slight sour sweetness from the pickles sprinkled throughout. I wasn't a huge fan but I thought the crust was good. The deep dish was interesting, I really liked the pepperoni that was used and the mushrooms were thick and prominent. I thought the cheese was extremely thick and took up most of the pizza. Service was good and quick, the bartender was nice. It's small inside but still plenty of seating. Parking is street only so I'm assuming it could be hard to find parking during busy times. Overall, I don't know if I would come back but I'm glad I got to try it. The different signature pizzas were definitely something that makes you want to come back. read more

Very disappointed in the food, service, wait time, value, cleanliness and overall experience. Went on a Saturday late afternoon (family of 3) and noted only one other table w/ customers so thought we would get quick service. There is a lot of seating, high ceilings and a lot of natural light from the windows (about the only good things we can comment on). Right away, noticed missing buttons and holes in the fabric on the back of the booth we were sitting in. The seats were old w/ large cracks. Server came pretty quickly to take our order but seemed unfamiliar with the menu when we had questions. Noted prices were pretty high compared to other pizza places. Ours were about $20 for a 10" pizza. Between the three of us, got two different pizzas and a meatball sub, plus a deep dish pizza and calzone to take home for later. Took almost an hour to get our food w/ no updates, apologies, or explanation from our server. Made no sense given we were one of two total tables in the whole place. We had to go to the bar the first time to get our drink refills b/c the server (who was also tending the bar w/ no customers at it) never returned. When we finally got our food, it was delivered by another person who informed us they would now be our server. Informed us our server left for the day. Very frustrated the original server never informed us he was leaving. The food was so disappointing. Both pizzas had very little toppings and the toppings stopped about 2 inches from the edge of the crust. Both pizzas had large bubbles in them. The crust was dry, hard, and flavorless. I normally love crust but didn't eat it b/c it was so bad which left a lot of uneaten food in the box b/c there was so much crust on eat piece. The bottom of the pizzas were slightly burned w/ little black specks getting all over our plates and fingers. My pizza was supposed to have balsamic glaze on it. It was barely visible and I couldn't taste it. I requested a side of glaze, which they forgot, so had to ask again. The meatball sub was less than average with a lot of dry hoagie type roll and very little sauce. Went to restroom and noted large areas of black type mold on the ceiling tiles from some sort of leak. If the leak was fixed, changing the tiles out would be easy as it was a drop ceiling. Unsure why you would want customers to see and/ or breathe that! When we opened our deep dish pizza at home, noted the entire bottom was black/ burned. We had high hopes based on some of the reviews we read and the space has potential. Visited on 24 JUL 2024 We were in town visiting daughter, her husband and a toddler grandson. We were told that this part of town is being revitalized. I can see that, and I wish them luck, this is always a complicated dance and gamble in non- "tourist" city. Of course there is a giant internationally known University, but still people don't have it on their gotta go there list. So as you might guess from the name this place has a bit of a theme but I really appreciate how subtle they approached it. There is nothing that smacks you in the face. They have achieved the feeling, with music, color schemes, and clean simple lines. The service was good for middle of the day, middle of the week minimal staffing. Our server, Faith, took care of us well, got the orders right and was attentive without hovering. The food is okay, there was nothing wrong with any of the meal. I would simply say it lacks "finish". The tater tots were hot and fresh but they were tater tots on a plate (which is fine, but for $7, how about a little parsley or visible seasoning or some other up sell). My wife and I both got the little italian sub. It was , little, especially for $10. The bread was standard 6 in sub roll, toasted just enough to have texture without the whole cut your mouth thing. The ham was cubed and the pepperoni diced. I didn't hate that because it was easy to bite through without things sliding around, but I'm a big guy with a big mouth so I felt a bit like I was stealing bites of grandma's lunch. There was also a 14" Margherita pizza, $20, it looked well made, the kids enjoyed it. I tasted a bit of the sauce, it was fresh and tomato forward but that's the simple taste you would expect on that pie. Came here on a Friday night to finally try it out. Seating was quite confusing as there was no host and it seemed multiple people were confused. We ended up seating ourselves, which seemed like what you were supposed to do. Waiters eventually came around but seemed as if they weren't in communication with one another. Foodwise, I got the spicy chicken corn chowder pizza cause it sounded interesting. It wasn't bad, wasn't great, pretty ok pizza. It wasn't very spicy but the crust was nice and crisp. Picked up the hawaiian slice, and it instantly is ripped in half due to how soggy the crust was. The bottom of the pizza was covered in burnt char, like the ovens were not cleaned in a very long time. We also got tater tots plain, they were okay. Not as crispy as they could have been, but still solid. The pizza tho, was overly-cheesy and not enough sauce. It was hard to chew after a bit, like it was rubber. The service was the only redeeming quality. The server was very nice, and she came often to check on us. We did wait a while for the food (about 45 mins), although that was not the servers fault. Yellow Brick Pizza sits in the up-and-coming Franklinton area. We got the deep dish pie, and it was ridiculously huge. Truthfully, the price seems unreasonable at first -- but the moment you get through the first slice, you realize how much pizza you have in front of you. Takes around ~45 min for the pizza cook, so I'd order ahead if you're coming in on any empty stomach like us. As far as the taste, the cheese was too chewy for my liking. The place was inviting, but the music was turned up too loud for us. While loud music is fun on Friday nights, definitely doesn't sit the same on a Monday evening. read more

The food here is always amazing! They switch the menu around & there's always new pizzas to try! I most recently tried the jerk chicken pizza, which was amazing! I usually am not a big fan of red onions, however, it meshed well with the recipe for the pizza! The chicken was seasoned & cooked perfectly & no ingredient was overpowering. A well made dish. The garlic knots were also amazing! I would highly recommend ordering them to try if you're looking for a great appetizer to share. They also have happy hour specials! Mistakenly thinking they were part of 614's Restaurant Week, I stopped in. They didn't have what that menu had, so I made do. Got the grilled cheese and some spiced up dough knots. The first was pretty good. I could eat three or four of those, maybe with ham added. As for the knots, I loved the fresh dough but I could have done without the cumin (?); maybe they could add knots with butter and powdered sugar? That would be the bomb. The atmosphere was fine, but I think they need better windows. Something that protects against ultra violet heat. That would be nice. Finally, the service wasn't good. I never saw my waiter again after he took my initial order. The kitchen guy had to bring me the food and cash me out. Was that by design? I left 10% tip. Currently featuring Banh Mi Pizza and only available at their Franklinton location. With the essential Banh Mi ingredients, I would say it does taste similar to a Banh Mi, but with smaller ratio of bread. I actually like this, as it is more like a snack version of Banh Mi to me. I also tried the Twice Baked Chicken Wings and it is super tender and soft. I got the cajun honey and the flavor is just on point. This place was recommended by a couple friends, so I decided to give it a try. They have quite an extensive selection, with more than a few specialty pizzas that made me say "that sounds really good". We called ahead for take out and ended up going with the "Spicy BBQ pizza". It was ready when we got there about 20 minutes after ordering. The inside is pretty spacious and has additional seating at the bar. The surrounding apartments and condos were very nice, and you can tell this is a recent addition. Although like others have mentioned, the parking was a bit finicky. Just when you think you found a spot, you realize its actually parking for the apartments and has a tow sign right in front. We ended up finding a spot in the back near the river (towards Dodge pool). The pizza was good, not great. Also, there was absolutely 0 spice which was disappointing for a pizza with "Spicy" in the title. Perhaps "Sweet BBQ Pizza" would have been more fitting. The slices were big and we had plenty leftover from our large. I wouldn't be opposed to trying some of their other kinds, but I will definitely try a few more pizzerias before coming back. I had to email two times before getting a response (I even gave them through Monday since this happened in a Friday). Faith Pierce, co owner, told me she was sorry & would refund me. It's like whoever designed the menu here played a game of telephone with someone on the other side of the world who had a vague understanding of what a pizza is. Like sure it's dough and cheese and pepperoni. But it didn't come together well. My business team and I came here recently after a meeting because we were a little hungry and just needed a spot to sit for a while and knock some final things out. Well, we sure got to sit for a while. At first you come in and the host stand is closed. Fine. No worries. It's 3:50 I don't expect the host to be there yet. So we go up to the bar and ask for a table, the bartender was kind and told us we could sit anywhere we want. We took a seat and about 15 minutes later a server came over. We were the only people in the restaurant so it was a red flag on its own that it took her fifteen minutes to find us. We had to go up to the bar and ask for a server, and then it took 5 more minutes. The menu was about what you'd expect from one of these manufactured authenticity millenial hellholes. About $5-10 dollars more than everything should have been, but in a fashion that teeters along the line of reasonability. Like for example the Tator-Chos $12.96 after tax. Marketed like it's going to be delicious... "Cowboy Caviar" "beautiful jalapeño blend" etc. when in reality it was a bowl about the size of my hand with 25 tator tots in it, featuring a couple chunks of tomato, and far too much melted cheese that on multiple occasions made my mouth feel coated in slime. Overall pretty sh*tty and unsatisfactory tator tot experience. It's reasonably priced for what the menu makes you expect but vastly overpriced for what the actual quality of the food was. Now, you'd expect the pizza to be quality, or at least you'd hope. However. It was not even decent. We ordered two pizzas while here, one being a personal pizza 8? Inches.? It was 16 dollars and it was alright. Not good. But alright. You can get a MUCH better pizza for MUCH cheaper. For example, grandads pizza. Great pizza. 16 inch for $18 and it isn't just mediocre. The other pizza we ordered was a "dragon pizza" whatever that means. They had somehow messed up the ordering on this pie by putting pepperoni below the cheese. And it wasn't just that it slipped through, it almost seemed like this was a stylistic choice. The result of this was that the pizza couldn't stay together at all, because I don't know if they knew this or not, but when you put the pizza in the oven it combines the cheese with the sauce and that melts onto the dough. Pepperoni will not stick to sauce on its own. Due to sauce not being adhesive. Dough and cheese are both adhesive. Therefore. If you create a pizza in the normal method, it works. If you do it in the Yellow Brick Pizza method, it does not. On each slice, when lifted, all of the topping fell off. It actually fell down as soon as our server put it on the "pizza thingy". The eating process of this pizza was a nightmare. It was very greasy, very salty, and overall unpleasant. You couldn't just take one bite, because the entire topping department was connected by one big hunk of cheese. Which was unfortunately and unpredictably not connected to the dough. I took one bite and was forced to eat the entire slice in one bite. As the cheese-eroni concoction couldn't split between my teeth. I left Yellow Brick Pizza today feeling full. But not full in a satisfied sense, I felt probably more like how a jelly donut would feel if it got pumped up during training day by a 15 year old new hire. I felt like there was more potential than results. Like riding up a roller coaster just to have a toll booth at the top of the hill My stomach hurts two hours later kind of deal to get past my prose. One of my coworkers messaged me afterwards, "It just hit me when I got home, why am I hungry if I just ate." Followed by "I'm still hungry because of how bad it was." another one said, "the pizza was so bad I'm getting a second lunch." One thing I will give this place is the sound quality. It was nearly silent in here despite having music on. Maybe the 70's inspired tagline they give themselves is because they played a song off Echoes by Pink Floyd. Not sure. Certainly wasn't 70s prices. I got to hear every pan that was dropped in the kitchen during my stay which was pretty fun. Gave me some flashbacks to my pizza making days. The bathroom was solid. Great for peeing. Decent for washing your hands. About what you'd expect. Come here if you really like peeing in a fancy bathroom or you have no other options and hate yourself. This time I was really holding out hope it would be good. I got a simple pep and cheese pizza which for the size the price is extremely fair. However that doesn't matter because it was pretty much inedible. It came very undercooked so I thought. I'll just reheat it in the oven no problem. PROBLEM it was so thin and so greasy towards the middle it stuck to the cardboard leaving half the pizza clinging to the box. I reheated it holding out hope. NOPE it managed to still stay soggy. Grabbed a late night bite at the bar recently and absolutely loved it. Had a Side Salad, Garlic Knots and a Thin Crust Buffalo Pizza. All items were great, especially the Garlic Knots. The one thing that really stood out was my Server- Matt W. He was very kind to me and everyone that he served. One kid walked in, down on his luck and just asked if he could sit quietly in the corner while he charged his phone even though he wasn't going to purchase anything. The sitting area at East market was terrible- I don't think anyone sits back there because it was covered in dust and dirt like it had been sitting for a couple weeks. There was a lot of herbs on the crust, but there was not much flavor otherwise. I got spinach, chicken, and mushrooms in it. They are kind of bland ingredients but you would think it would have some flavor. The dipping sauce was good. Maybe all the flavor is in their pizza sauce. I ate here for the first time, with my wife, this past Saturday. There was an event nearby with some food trucks but none of the food there was really what we wanted. So we walked to yellow brick to give it a try. We sat at the bar. It wasn't busy at all. Maybe 10 other customers in the entire place. At 8pm on a Saturday? It looked like they do a lot of carry out business. We got a large pizza. We built our own. It was incredible. Maybe the best medium crust pizza I've had. And I've had a lot. Everything was perfect. Lots of toppings, perfect amount of sauce, nice crust. Service was great. If you like this variety of pizza, you can't go wrong here. read more

It was my first time visiting Yellow Brick pizza. They have some happy hour deals for the drinks. I came here specifically for their special pizza - Bahn Mi. It was really good and tasted just like a Bahn mi. I also got a half and half pizza to try some other flavors. The tater tots was a little plain and I wish it was crispier. The cake balls were a little too dense and sweet for me. The service was quite slow when I was there. But otherwise I still enjoyed the food. read more

Yellow Brick used to be right down the street from us in OTE! I ordered once or twice when we bought our OTE house. I always liked the pizza and thought the appetizers/sides were also great. I thought it was on pricy side for pizza, but liked supporting local neighborhood spots. I went to the Franklinton location for the first time and got carryout during restaurant week. The courses I got were burrata, DIY pizza (two topping) and tiramisu. This was $30. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a "steal" because I think the items should add up to around $30 but they sure are delicious. The burrata comes on this toasted ciabatta that is so good. For the DIY pizza I of course got ham and pineapple (love a Hawaiian) and the tiramisu was spongey and the perfect ending to the meal. I added on a greek salad and the spicy meatballs. Love both of these as sides/apps to the pizza. All for a variety of flavors and Yellowbrick delivers the variety on their menu. read more
