We loved it and wanted to finish but we had to save for the main meal, which included sashimi, tofu soup, grilled fish, sauteed seafood, bulgogi, banchan and beer! This became 3 meals for each of us! Came here around 9pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was buzzing! My friends and I were HUNGRY and wanted Korean BBQ but also wanted other Korean dishes and noodles, so we chose Yechon. I've heard it's a neighborhood institution, so I was excited to try it. We got bulgogi, which came already cooked on a sizzling cast iron platter, the seafood noodle soup (haemul jeongol), and seafood scallion pancake (haemul pajeon). The meal came with all these different banchan that were all so delicious and a great accompaniment to the meal. Each of our dishes were so tasty, and between the 4 of us, we ate almost everything. The 3 dishes were the perfect combo and just enough for us all. The seafood pancake was especially good. Perfectly crisp on the outside and gooey in the middle. The haemul jeongol was savory and spicy, and there was enough clams, abalone, shrimp, fish and noodles for all of us to eat. Yechon never disappoints! I've been here for at least 5-7 years now like literally ever since I was a kid and went here with my parent. The value and the amount of food they give is very generous. I love korean food but this is one of those place that I feel like it feels very home cook while giving so much. This time I took my gf family here for her mom birthday and we finished practically everything. We got the value menu for group of 3 and add on of bibimbap and galbitang and it was perfect. Yechon can be a bit hit or miss. I've dined in a couple of times, and each time, neither I nor my friends and family were particularly impressed with our meals. However, I had a much better experience with takeout--especially with the bulgogi, which was excellent. While the bulgogi stood out, it's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side for what you get. Given my mixed experiences and the inconsistency, I'd rather not risk it again, so I won't be coming back. Updating because the past two times I ordered for pick-up, there were issues. First time, I ordered 2 sashimi and only one was in the bag. Second time, the sashimi had pieces of seared tuna. ******** Ate inside here last year and tables were seated with spread out so I felt safe. Now I just order for takeout, which is super convenient. Sashimi appetizer and then vary on dishes. Their galbi dolsot bibimbat is excellent (though even better eat-in because of the stone crisping of the rice). Love the cute, little ladies here... Around Nova, it's never an issue finding a good Korean restaurant. Ye Chon is one of the more popular restaurants and is open 24 hours a day. This was my second time coming here late night, and just like the first time, it was pretty busy. Luckily, we didn't have much of a wait to be seated. We ordered the usual, the fried dumplings and for me the bibimbap. I enjoyed the dumplings and they were fried perfectly. The bibimbap was pretty average though and for some reason it tasted like it was missing something. Service was decent and I was pleased with how fast our food came. Yechon: 3-4 star place that is a extremely popular restaurant for locals and tourists alike. This restaurant is located in the heart of Annandale, VA. It consists of a huge menu of Japanese and Korean staples. I was really hoping to eat some sushi as well as some Korean style soup. Unfortunately they weren't serving sushi late night when I visited. We ordered a few Korean entrees with some awesome sides that came along with it. Everything came family style which was nice. I ordered Agwi Maeuntang dish that was monk fish with clam stew that came with veggies/tofu in a spicy sauce. The fish was just ok, next time I would order veggie only option since the quality of the seafood was not that great. Hours- You can't beat 24 hours that it's open. It's way better than some other options that are open 24/7. Service was decent with option of the bell button at the table if you need assistance or want to order more. If you like real Korean food this is the place. We drove from Reston to Annandale to eat here, and it isn't the first time. My wife is Korean and recognizes real Korean food and she was happy. She overate which is a sign that the food is good. We went to lunch and my wife got Bip N Bop, daughter got the bulgogi platter and I got the Tteok Mandutguk soup. The restaurant was clean and traditional. The waitresses were dressed in Hanbok attire and it is very authentic. I lived in Korea for 2 1/2 years and it is real. The side dishes are very good. Koreans judge a restaurant by the side dishes. If they are not good then nothing is good. Their side dishes were simple but very good. And as usual you can get free side dish refills. Water was served in Kirkland bottles which was funny but totally acceptable. It was a joy eating there. Good food and very relaxed. Bottom line. I used to come here all the time years ago (being open 24 hours is a big deal) and decided to come back about 6 months ago. Honestly it's one of the worst Korean restaurants I've been to in recent memory. I don't know if it's the aftermath of Covid but none of the typical Korean veggies were in our meals and the broth was horribly underseasoned. Nothing tasted right and they served us water in bottles that we had to pay for. Between my aunt and 2 cousins, none of us finished our entrees. My cousins flew in from CA and I had bragged about Annandale's Korean food game and was actually kind of embarrassed. It's been a while since I visited... it's my "go to" when introducing folks to Korean cuisine. I may be a bit jaded as time has progressed, but the quality seems to have dropped a bit. Banchans (side dishes) seems not as plentiful and not refilled, and probably due to COVID protocols, no large size of beer (traditional Korean and Japanese) are available. I thought this place was great and really threw me back into Seoul. Everything really reminded me of restaurants in Seoul, from the button to ring the servers on the table, to the abundance of bonchon (side dishes), to the general liveliness of the restaurant. This would be a great place to eat and drink, if we ever wanted to have soju or beer with our food one day. The soondubu was ok, not the best I've ever had but was still pretty good. Yechon is a place that I don't frequent often because I always thought it was a little bit of everything but not quite perfect in anything. I was proven wrong today because it was solid -- from the banchan to the entrees and even the service. Now the prices are not desirable, which attributes to why not a lot of Koreans frequent this place as much as other places. The dishes are a couple dollars more expensive than other places, but then again, I'd rather have a solid meal than a mediocre one elsewhere. One obvious plus about this place is the abundance of options. We were last here 7 years ago, on the recommendation of one of my friends, and the food was very good. When we came back on May 31st this year, the food was mid at best, and the server didn't bring one of our orders until we reminded her a few times. The galbi was underseasoned. So was the bulgogi. We were seated next to a low partial wall, on top of which servers often placed food. I was sitting right next to it. During the end of the meal we saw two cockroaches on that wall. I want to start by saying this place was a little misleading. It says you have to have a minimum of two meats but you actually can't get what you want if you mix 2 that have to be cooked at the table but you can't mix. That alone threw off my experience because it should be stated clearly what you can and can't have together. What I will say is the portion sizes did not disappoint. But the flavor was not something to be remembered. The saving grace was the salty brown dipping oil they have at all Korean Barbeques. Who knows if it's prepared vegetables that had turned bad, or old banchan... *Automatically charged 20% gratuity on my card. I remember going to Yechon many moons ago and the food being really good. Unfortunately, this time was not the case. Their ordering system was totally bizarre. If you want "bbq," the menu says must order at least two dishes. But apparently you can order only specific combinations which had no rhyme or reason. Anyways we ordered bolgolgi and pork belly. This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the DMV. My parents took me here when I was a few months old (we're Korean), and now I'm over 30 years old. I've eaten here many, many times, and it never disappoints. It's also 24 hours, so I've been here at 7am with my dad and at 4am after going out dancing. After my wedding, my dad and his Korean friends all went to Yechon to get drunk and eat good Korean food until the early morning! I was secretly very jealous but I had just gotten married and had guests hanging out so I couldnt go with them. My favorite is the boyangtang (spicy goat soup) since it's the only place that has it (RIP Bang Ga Nae) and their version is very good. I also love their kalbi (BBQ beef short ribs). I think their kalbi is the best out of anywhere in Annandale. Their yukgaejang is also very good. Their kalbitang (beef rib soup) is solid but not the best best. The staff are also so nice. It's always the same pretty Korean women in their cute modern hanboks. They're nicer than your typical Korean restaurant (since Korean restaurants don't care about service bc we don't really tip in Korea). When it's slower though, they'll come play with your kids and chat with you. I love them. The pro move is to get take out from them during the early morning or lunch hours because their morning menu is superrrr cheap. read more

This gem is in Annandale and open 24/7! I've been here a countless number of times for the convenience. Its great when you're returning from a trip and it's late at night but you're hungry and nothing is open or when you are out all night and need something to fix your hangover. They have a wide variety of food options from soups to sushi to korean bbq. They have a morning special from 6am-10am for stews like soon tofu, hangover soup, etc for $7.95. They used to be GREAT, but the last couple of times I've been there something was lacking. The service is the best service I received from KOREAN restaurants in the area. For some reason, annandale korean restaurants don't have the best service...but this one is actually really decent. The banchan/side dishes seem very fresh and are pretty delicious. The regular prices are decent--not too expensive and not cheap. The Yukaejang is a spicy stew and is AMAZING. The Gamjatang is also pretty good! The Haejanggook (hangover soup) is delicious as well. However, the haemul dolsot bibimbap (seafood bibimbap in a stone pot) was a bit lacking. The rice in the bowl as well as the rice given to us for the soups were very soggy and unappetizing--which is my biggest complaint. Also, when we ran out of water or banchan...they weren't filled...we had to keep asking. TLDR; the food is pretty good, the restaurant is open 24/7, and the service is nice but needs to be more attentive and consistent, the rice needs to not be soggy read more

Yechon is a great introduction to Korean food, it's not really somewhere that specializes in one thing, but rather an all-rounded place where nothing on the menu will disappoint. Many of the waiting staff wear hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) and a variety of side dishes are also offered for every table. The only thing that isn't so great is the service - not the most friendly of staff and you can definitely feel the staff are in a rush to get people in and out. read more

I love yechon!! Their food is authentic korean food and all of their soups are like what my grandma makes. They are always crowded, for good reason! All of their banchan (side dishes) are so fresh. I've gotten their Seollangtang/oxtail soup before and absolutely loved it. Perfect for when you're sick or just in the mood for soup. Their yukkaejang is amazing, as well as their daegu fish stew! They're all so flavorful and I feel like I'm with my grandparents every time I eat their food. Also, their korean bbq is pretty good.
