Spicy chicken (Dak Gui)
Dee A.

A forever solid place. I came with my 2 adult daughters and two godsons on a Thursday night after 8pm. Although the sushi bar was closed, the rest of the restaurant was business as usual. It had been over 18 months since we've visited and we missed it. The menu had some updates since we've last visited. Needless to say, my eyes were much bigger than my stomach! The servings are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The waitress was friendly and patient- she assisted my daughter with ordering something new. I ordered warm sake for the first time at this location. It went excellent with the spicy chicken with rice meal I ordered. I had one of my daughter's dumplings which was also amazing. My godson who initially introduced us to this restaurant ordered the Korean Seafood Pancake which was served like a pizza- I had a slice which was excellent!

This is the OG bibimbap place of my childhood. The dolsot bibimbap is a little pricier but the scorched rice is so perfectly crunchy and very filling, especially with all of the banchan. Seolleongtang was not too beefy and a significant portion, although I wish they gave more green onions.

We love going to Yechon for a Korean BBQ eating experience. We are creature of habit, so we always get the pork belly (2 orders minimum!) and the seafood pancakes (haemul pajeon). For tonight's dinner, we ordered mandu gui, 5 potstickers filled with ground meat with kimchi. We also ordered bulgogi where we devoured this dish within minutes. Perfectly seasoned, the beef was a premium cut with hardly any fat nor chewy pieces. I wrapped my meat in lettuce and added a little bit of rice along with the side dishes including kimchi, pickled cucumbers, etc. I dipped in the sesame oil filled with salt and pepper and, oh my, what was boring by themselves, this lettuce wrap of mine was so good! It was half filled with customers tonight. A family of 5 came in after us, and their conversation was quiet due to the vent above us that was constantly on while the staff was cooking our pork belly. And so, I would say the ambiance was really good. The service here is far from 5 stars, but their food made up for somewhat abrupt behavior from the service that we were able to ignore and just enjoyed our conversation between the 3 of us. I know there are many places to get Korean BBQ experience here in Annandale, Virginia, which is known as Koreantown, but I think you should give Yechon a try to see the quality of meats they use. Well worth it!

Reliable option with friendly service! Feels very homey in here and I've never had a bad meal here. The kimchi is great too! While i miss the days when they were 24/7, they are open late enough that popping in here later than normal is still a good option.

Great food. Service was quick and they're open late. Restaurant is clean and simple and offers normal wooden chopsticks!

Mackerel, sashimi, bulgogi, spicy squid, naengmyeon

Solid NOVA Korean restaurant, but they face some stiff competition from other Annandale / Centerville spots. I came with a mid-sized (5 people) group around 7 PM on a Saturday, and they were thankfully able to squeeze us in despite it being the peak dinner rush. The portions are pretty generous; we opted to order a variety of dishes and share (as all good Asian dinners go) and ended up having a ton of leftovers at the end of the evening. We got a combo set that included mackerel, sashimi, stir fried marinated beef, and then added on their spicy stir fried squid, naengmyeon, and hameul pajeon. The menu said the set could serve 2, but I think it could've easily served 3 or maybe 4 people. Their seafood was all solid -- the sashimi was super fresh (albeit not quite the dish I was expecting at a Korean restaurant), the mackerel had a nice char, and the stir-fried squid was quite flavorful and generally cooked well. The naengmyeon was a great refreshing choice for the summer evening, but it was way too sweet. I also didn't love their pajeon -- it was a tad too greasy for my taste, and had very little of the seafood filling. Even so, the service was super friendly and the restaurant had a great, laidback, home-cooking ambiance. I would definitely come back for their squid, but think the other dishes can be a skip.

Banchan. The kimchi is made in house and it's wonderful. Sometimes they have spicy braised tofu that's fantastic, too.

I've been going here for over 20 years. That ends tonight. After I was seated, I was ignored for 15 minutes. As I was ordering galbi dolsot bibimbap, the waitress cut me off, said "we're out" and walked away to go seat another table. Where was that sense of urgency when I waited 15 minutes to be seated? I've never been treated so rudely at a restaurant before. Don't go here. There are plenty of other Korean restaurants in Annandale where the waitress won't walk away mid-order after you sank 30 minutes waiting. It saddens me to see how far this restaurant has fallen. The only reason you would go there is for what it was, not what it is.

Wow I've been here many times but I guess I've never reviewed. Pretty staple spot that is open ..a lot of hours. The squid was fire. I wasn't that crazy about the seafood bibimbap-- it wasn't very flavorful and I don't think they gave me extra sauce for it? The rice on the bottom was crispy though. Bossam is okay - I thought the pork was a bit dry. I love the extensive menu here and their banchan spread is awesome. Service is usually pretty quick. Kind of noisy in there when a lot of people, and tables are close together but it's cozier that way haha.

I've been going to Yechon Korean Restaurant since 2013, and it's become a must-visit every time I'm in the Washington, D.C. area. Without fail, the food is incredible, the service is warm and professional, and the atmosphere feels both authentic and welcoming. Yechon serves some of the best Korean food I've ever had in the U.S., whether it's BBQ, bibimbap, soondubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), or fresh sashimi. The variety and freshness of the banchan (side dishes) alone make every meal feel like a feast. One thing I've always appreciated is the attention to Korean tradition. The staff often wear hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), and the interior ambiance is true to Korean culture. It creates a sense of hospitality that's both genuine and memorable. Another standout feature? They're open 24/7 (or at least they used to be--worth calling ahead to confirm). That made it my go-to for late-night meals or whenever I arrived in town at odd hours. If you're in Northern Virginia or anywhere in the DMV area, i.e., short for D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, you owe it to yourself to stop by. Yechon has stood the test of time for a reason. Authentic, consistent, and always satisfying.

The service was outstanding as always..... we arrived before dinner rush and was seated quickly, the food was delicious Bibimbap and the sushi hit the spot. I recommend that you stop in and taste for yourself as you will be impressed.

One of the best restaurants in the DC region. We've been coming here for a decade and absolutely love it! If you're not familiar with Korean food, consult with AI or a Korean friend to understand what you might enjoy.

Very great food. The kimchi is so so good. I recommend the kimchi dolset bibimbop but everything else is always good

OG Korean BBQ, can't go wrong. My only complaint is that they don't do sushi 24/7. Their bulkalbi is fantastic!

They don't state their prices in the online menu. It'd be nice to know if the restaurant is in my price range before dining there.

Sushi quality wasn't bad and they did somewhat mess up our service last night by forgetting a few items but made up for it and bounced back. I like that they have their own private rooms for diners because it gives a sense of privacy for the experience. Would definitely come back to try other options.

The amount of options they have for the food was actually nothing like I've experienced before. Typically you go for AYCE sushi or AYCE bbq/hot pot. This place I think had an amazing balance of Izakaya and the premium sashimi being the show stealers. Yes. There's a max of how much you can order the premium sashimi. We started round 1 with them and they really set the bar for the rest of our experience. As much as we love sushi, my family and I kept wanting to order more of the small plates or the pork belly (my kid had 3 orders of it himself) or the ramen. Everything from the quality of food, to the private dining room, to the service, everything seemed worth the price. This is a bit of a drive for us so we will definitely mark it as a place to drop by when we are up in northern VA to get some great quality food and service.

The family and I ate here for dinner. Aburasoba may not be the popular ramen, but I may enjoy it…read moremore than broth ramen!! It's so flavorful, the noodles are so bouncy and don't get overcooked in the broth. I often don't finish ramen broth anyway bc it's quite salty (they do offer ramen broth bowls if that's what your feeling). All that to say, the aburasoba that they do here is really good. Some of the apps are on the smaller side, but the salad and the tebasaki are worth it for sharing. You can order with the staff or with the kiosk. Service is good and it's a casual dining area inside.

I was aware of this spot for a while now after the old Foxfire grill closed but taking the time out to try it has been tricky. Well, what's a better time than 30 minutes before closing time to just pop in and grab a couple of bowls then! It's cold, it's night, it's ramen time! We stumble in grab some shoyu, miso, seaweek salad, takoyaki, karaage, and tiramisu at the end. This place feels like a Japanese version of a Pho shop. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Service was good, straigh forward, skip all the pleasantries. No Bars here but there is a connected space where you can get matcha drinks and boba but its matcha. Everything was matcha. If you're into that stuff, then that's a matcha for you. Ramens were okay. Broth was blowing my mind in flavor. I would say the depth was not too deep but this will work for a cold night. Karaage was okay. Takoyaki lacked impact in flavor also, missing the oomf! Seaweed salad was good but I'm not gonna rave about seaweed salad. We wrapped things up with the tiramisu cake. Oh boy, that was a surprise. It fell flat. The layers were overcooked and had a tough bite. I expect tiramisu to have a tender bite to it. We didn't finish that slice of cake. Well, we left full but half fulfilled. Was it worth it? Not really. If you need ramen and cup o noodles isn't cutting it, this is an option. Then again, there are options.
